The Simpsons |OT2| It's a pornography thread- We were posting pornography

I loved this episode because of the "similar but different world" concept I've come to love in parallel universe stories. I think it's my overall favorite.

Milhouse: Look everyone! An old man is talking!
Grampa: Grampa's the name. Did you know this tree dates back to frontier times?
Kids: *excited chatter*
Grampa: Shut up!

I just noticed a huge mistake in episode 3.22. "The Otto Show".

They give bart a guitar for left handers:

He shows it to Otto who plays it upside down righthanded (which would be possible).

vlcsnap-2015-01-29-22sprey.png

But then a little later, it turns into a full guitar for right handers:

I mean, what are we to believe, that this is some sort of a... magic guitar or something? Boy, I really hope somebody got fired for that blunder.

Lemon of Troy is easily a top 5 episode, up there with Cape Feare, Marge vs the Monorail, Last Exit to Springfield... and I don't actually have a fifth one to round that out.

Edit: Homer Goes to College

To be fair, Homer and Marge spent a lot of money on that guitar.

Is the episode with Neighbour Bush disliked?

Some of the jokes are good, but it eschewed the 'Normal Middle American Family Life' constant in a pretty sensational manner.

I'm sure there are some people that hate it just like the crazies that think Homer's Enemy is the worst episode ever produced.

I liked the Bush episode (Two Bad Neighbors), but I also liked Homer's Enemy, and seeing how a former US President (and another power plant employee) deal with Homer and Bart's antics.

The Bush episode is great and I love the ending with Gerald Ford. It would have been neat to see him as a recurring character as just a pal of Homer's but I suppose that could have gone in predictable directions.

I never got the complaints people had about Homer's Enemy ("Homer is being a jerk/going out of his way to antagonize Grimes")when those same complaints are much more valid for Two Bad Neighbors.

Two Bad Neighbors feels weirdly over the top, it's not bad, but it sometimes feels like it might be modern Simpsons. I know that Homer's Enemy has also over the top stuff but I think it feels more natural somehow.

It might be because the buildup is gradual in Homer's Enemy. Even though Homer is admittedly a jerk in the beginning (as opposed to the entire episode as critics would wrongfully have you believe), he tones it down as he tries to befriend Grimes, and the tension finally erupts when Homer wins the contest at the end.

TBN, on the other hand, has things going from 0-60 after the first act. I love both episodes, but the complaints about Homer's Enemy get on my nerves for how incorrect they are.

I like Homer's Enemy because Grimes is like a real person inserted into the insane Simpsons universe, and he reacts to the Simpson's world, and to Homer especially, with the incredulity that a semi-real person would have if they were put in that world.

I would gladly take a dozen episodes like Homer's Enemy before dealing with Two Bad Neighbors again.
Bart acting like Dennis the Menace and Homer suddenly being against corporal punishment? Pass.
The Bushes were pretty much that episode's only saving grace.

I don't remember many instances where Homer has reacted favorably to punishing his children for doing something they did to someone else.

I still hate McCartney for forcing a character aspect to Lisa which I would argue would be the root of her character problems.

With that said, after watching Lisa the Vegetarian, I find it hilarious that her start of vegetarianism wasn't because she was thinking about animal welfare in general, but because she thought an animal was cute. I wouldn't really mind her vegetarianism if they made her a hypocritical type who only did things for shallow reasons (i.e. something is cute).

This is awesome.

SIMPSONS PIXELS by Paul Robertson and Ivan Dixon with a theme by Jeremy Dower.

It's so well done and lovely to look at. And since it is Paul Robertson, you can expect it to get weird by the end.

They should just make it the couch gag for an episode. I mean everyone else has made one.

Homer: Hey Moe, you wanna come with me and Wally to the Super Bowl?
Moe: Oh yeah! My favorite team's in it! The [NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS]. Yeah, ever since I was a boy I always loved the [NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS].
Homer: Yeah, they're good, but I wouldn't cut out the [SEATTLE SEAHAWKS].
Wally: Yeah, I hear President [OBAMA] is going to be watching with his wife [MICHELLE].

NameGenerated

Who paid you to grab Dr. Pavel?
Speaking of that, I watched three episodes in a row the other day. Homer Loves Flanders, Sunday, Cruddy Sunday, and Homer The Moe. All three episodes used the same football animation of a close up on the QB passing, then the receiver catching it and getting tackled against the pylon for a TD. Funny coincidence.

Weird that the head movement looks way better animated in pixel art than in the latest episodes..

"On closer inspection, these are loafers."

"Jay, my new film is a mixture of action und comedy. It's called Mcbain: Let's Get Silly."

"Have you ever noticed how men leave the toilet seat up? That's the Joke."

"You suck Mcbain!"

(Fires into the crowd with a machine gun)

"And now here is my Woody Allen impression. I'm a neurotic nerd who likes to sleep with little girls."

"You really suck Mcbain!"

(Throws a grenade into the crowd in slow motion)

"The whole film is me in front of a brick wall for 2 hours. It cost 80 million dollars."

"How do you sleep at night?"

"On top of a pile of money with lots of beautiful ladies."

One of the greatest Simpsons episodes of all time. And I really wish Fox didn't cancel the Critic.

"Are you saying boo or boo-urns?"

"BOOOOOOOOO!"

"I was saying boo-urns."

I wish I could find a gif of Homer using the wheelchair then jumping out and running to beat everyone else to the dining hall.

Hands up who wouldn't want a giant Cocoa-sponge marshmallow?

Bart doesn't appreciate how awesome that is.
The marshmallow barely turns brown so I would fear the cocoa taste would be fairly weak.

"And now here is my Woody Allen impression. I'm a neurotic nerd who likes to sleep with little girls."
You know I like those Woodsy Allen movies, except for that nervous fella who's always in them.
