The Simpsons |OT2| It's a pornography thread- We were posting pornography

I prefer not to be called "man".

Would you rather be called an entrepreneuse?

"Hello. My name is Mr. Burns. I believe you have a letter for me."

"Okay Mr. Burns, what is your first name?"

"...I don't know."
This might be my all time favourite Simpsons joke.
Wait a minute, we didn't tell you how World War II ended!
...
We won!
“And, so, as Abraham Lincoln sat in Ford’s Theater that night, John Wilkes Booth entered, drew his gun, and- . . . well, that’s it. Have a nice summer everyone.”

Reverend Lovejoy: I know one of you is responsible for this, so repeat after me: If I withhold the truth, may I go straight to Hell, where I will eat naught but burning hot coals and drink naught but burning hot cola...
Ralph: Where fiery demons will punch me in the back...
Bart: Where my soul will be chopped into confetti and strewn upon a parade of murderers and single mothers...
Milhouse: Where my tongue will be torn out by ravenous birds...
*CAW!*
Milhouse: BART DID IT! THAT BART RIGHT THERE!

"But every religion says there is a soul, Bart....why would they lie? What would they have to gain?"

(Lovejoy pours money into the sorting machine)

"I don't hear scrubbing."

Ned: Fella came into the store today and asked for change for a dollar. Well, sir, I gave him three quarters by mistake. Took me the whole afternoon to track him down!
Maude: Todd, would you like some mixed vegetables?
Todd: Hell, no.
*GASP*
Maude: What did you say?
Todd: I said I don't want any damn vegetables.
Ned: Alright, that's it, young man! No Bible stories for you tonight!
*Todd runs upstairs crying*
Maude: Weren't you a little hard on him?
Ned: Well, you knew I had a temper when you married me.

Oh yeah, in the episode Fear of Flying, was the bar scene prior to the lesbian bar a reference to something?

Also did an episode prior to that feature Marge flying? The only old ep I can recall with flight was Bart vs. Australia and I wasn't sure if it came out before Fear of Flying.

What was that episode when Marge I think tells a couple of historical stories to the kids and in one of them Lisa is believed to be a witch because she knows math?

Isn't it a reference to Cheers ?

Ah I didn't know Cheers.

Funniest thing about that reference is that they got all the actual actors from Cheers to guest voice their own characters, including Woody Harrelson. But the one who doesn't talk would have been voiced by Kelsey Grammer, who already has a recurring role on the show (Sideshow Bob).

Also Bart vs Australia comes after this, but Marge does fly in Mr Lisa Goes to Washington.

I'm rewatching the most recent DVD seasons and it is quite clear why they changed that intro to HD. THe level of quality in animation between a random season 15 episode and the regular intro is really big.

Definitely. The only other option would be to trace the original opening exactly which wouldn't look right at all or match the current show. So while it sucks in comparison, it still fits the current style whereas the original wouldn't at all.

Robot Marge movements and everything.

I wouldn't mind the new intro so much if they didn't have Marge hit Homer with the car in the garage. That one little thing shows all that's wrong with The Simpsons.

I agree.

Every now and then I think to myself "Hey, let's watch a new episode and see, if they at least got a little better"
I got disappointed every time. Last week I watched "sky police" and "super franchise me".

Just horrible pieces of shit...as expected. Everything bad with modern simpsons was present. None or shit stories at best. Rip off of older plots. Horrible jokes (people getting killed by wiggum with the jetpack)

I'm surprised everytime how the actually manage to make me hate most of the characters while I love them in older seasons.

I honestly don't blame Simpsons, but rather the new set of audience in general. I doubt the common audience would appreciate the classic plots if they aired today.

You know, I agree with you generally. But for the first time ever I bought a season20+ episode on Apple TV yesterday. It was some episode were Bart wanted a cell phone. It really wasn't that bad actually. It was old enough before it was cg animated and it had a quite a few good lines. I was shocked and embarrassed to like it.

Then my friend showed me the terrible merge bodybuilder episode and I didn't crack a smile once. Not funny at all.

It is actually "Modern" Simpsons that is the worst, not "HD Simpsons". HD Simpsons has some terrible episodes - Lady Gaga appearance which was very popular - but it is more even, a bit more uphill than what came the years before the HD make-over.
