it's a good song and cover,though.

Soap Kills - Tango

Not too bad. I didn't like the production, although it was unorthodox and interesting, it still felt cheap. The song wasn't my favorite, but loop-based music has never really been something I enjoy.

The Xcerts- Gum

One of the most surprising albums I've listened to. I bought some thing called supply drop where you can get 10 albums for $15 for an album by Owen, but I ended up liking this album and others a whole lot better. They've been described as the Scottish Brand New, but I only seem some similarities.

Not bad. While not wholly original (not much is nowadays) they seem to have a good sense for what works for them. I don't like a lot of distortion, either in instruments or vocals, so I was happy it was only there at the end of the song. I am not an avid listener of that style, I'd give it a 6-7 out of 10.

Now this is sort of cheating, but here goes:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QcY9Y3LfL3I&sns=em

This is my Jazz group doing the classic 1929 tune, Sweet Georgia Brown. Most people associate the song as the theme for the Harlem Globetrotters. This was all in one take, no dubbing at all, and not the second run through either.

Have fun.

Slow Club - Beginners

there's a familiar face in the video

Epic length. Not usually a big fan of trance, but this was pretty good. 7/10

Karen Park - thousand loaded guns (Nocturnal Sunshine remix)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bYPYaV6XzG0

Voice reminds me of Bjork a bit which was a pleasant surprise, but I think the background music is a bit distracting and contrasted too strongly with her voice. Which can be a good thing in a song but it just stood out as being incompatible from the vocals. 5/10

Los Campesinos! -Who Fell Asleep In

Song got ignored last time so re-posting.

A cute little song! Not really something that I would usually listen to, but I can definetely dig it. Gives me a "wall of sound" sorta feeling at times. 7/10

Trummor & Orgel - Arcadian Flowers (that would be Drums and an Organ in swedish)

Fine musicianship, and some really nice melodies, but I always find jazz like this just goes round in circles. It could've been 3 minutes long and been usr as effective.

Pavement - Flux=Rad

I have a love hate relationship with this band. I often find them deliriously inventive and thoroughly enjoyable, but just as often find that Malkmus struggles to find a good hook, and ends up just aimlessly meandering around the verses. He's terrible for jamming syllables where they don't fit too, cadence is lost on the man at times.

But when they hit, they really hit. He's basically channelling Kurt Cobian here, and it really works IMO. I love this track.

I was never much of a fan of Nirvana, but I respect the music. This track was okay. 7/10.

Orchid - Eyes Behind A Wall

Never heard of Astra, quite like this track. Very Pink Floyd, mixed with ELO or something. Will give them a fair shot next time I'm...not sober. 7/10.

Playing GTA IV has given me a huge Steve Marriot boner.

Humble Pie - Black Coffee

I normally don't care much for most blues music, but I liked this. Guy had a totally unexpected voice, and the build was pretty good. 7/10

TW Walsh- Struggle and Strife

This song is a total downer. Something about his voice and the slowness of the song. Not a big, powerful song. Very low-key, but I find it eloquent in it's simplicity.

Now this is some solid blues rock! I remember being shown this very clip back when I studied musicology a couple of years ago. 8/10 hands down.

A total downer indeed. Fits my current mood quite well actually. I enjoyed it! 7/10

Edit : Listened to it a second time. This one just might grow on me!

Motorpsycho - Starhammer

Not available in my country. Searched on youtube, only a rough live version. Didn't sound like my kind of thing at all. I thought it was like a tenacious D style parody band to be honest. Awful.

Hardkandy - The Others

Dat funk.

Liked it so much I listened to it twice. Very funky. I can't help but think it would be better though if the guy's voice was just a bit deeper. 9/10

One of my favorite bands. This song is epic.

Big Business - I'll give you something to cry about.

Switch Back 9

a lot of my threads involve me fucking up somehow. Perhaps I'm a moron?
Here is some real obscure:

Sorcery - Snowshit

Randomly clicked on this because the band/song title were rad. I loves me some Doom metal, glad I clicked, this song kicks ass.

nice! I like lana, it's not my fav track by her though :)
good news first to numb the pain

Ugh, hated the vocals. Beards were awesome and instrumentals were great though.

I enjoyed that, only really heard the main singer before in Calle 13 - No hay nada com tu.. 8/10.

Continuing on latin influenced music, one of my absolute favourite artists:

Lila downs & Toto La Majmposina - Zapata se Queda
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=beuRgIqxTnY
He's got a really great voice. Also, that's a cool song (hadn't heard it before) and Lila Downs great.

Yeah...Ruined a pretty good song. I don't know; it's basically the same arrangement but with ostensibly less melody (muddy shreds) and stylistically out-of-place vocals. 3/10.

Foxy Shazam - I Like It
edit: "ass" is said a lot in this song, not sure if that's SFW so I figure it's worth noting.

interesting..it definitely has something about it, it's not really my thing though.
