Trying to get views from horny males.
To get views from basement dwelling nerds/pre teens who want to see chicks.
I don't really like labels, you are yourself, I'm myself, etc. I love music as much as I love gaming, but since gaming is more "weird" than listening to music, does that make me a gamer or a person with wide interests?
The term 'Gamer' in general just annoys me. You don't see other medium users labeling themselves. What do we call someone who watches movies? Movier?
Which doesn't really make sense when porn is so easily accessible on the intertron.
Attention seeking.
I love logging into Twitch to watch hot gril strimms.
This bit of "logic" has got to stop. You are certainly yourself, but there are a wide variety of titles and labels that all compose who you are. I swear, it's ONLY gamers that act like their "title" is somehow the reason people don't like them, rather than the other people with that title who have poor behavior.
If there are a need to identify as a GIRL gamer, than it means that all those girls see the term GAMER as male only.... so the problem is not using "girl gamer", is the idea that "gamer" is male only
Movie goer? Film buff?
Book Reader? Bookworm?
Game player? Gamer?
I'd be annoyed if someone called me a bookworm or movie buff too.
Pretty much. Like I said in another thread about this subject, you'll find very few episodes of Top Gear where you don't hear the term "petrolhead". No one gets upset about that term. It's accepted and even embraced.
I like the term movie buff. We should be called game buffs.
Considering how commonly expressed things like "girls don't exist on the internet" and "girls don't play games" are, is it any surprise that some girls push back vocally? I've never been one of these types, but I don't begrudge those who are.

I prefer "guru"
Sounds nice and super gross

Im very indifferent about it. Everybody can do what he / she wants as long as it is not harmful to another person. Gamer Girl, KillerX, SuperBoss.....i dont care. If i dont like a name i dont have to pay attention to him / her.....
... you cant blame someone for choosing a name. You can only blame yourself if you get angry about something like that![]()

Angry's a very strong word! I'm not starting a hashtag campaign here, kid.
Chalk me up as another one who hates the term 'gamer'.
Any use of 'game' as a verb is an immediate turn-off. "I game on a PC." Bleh.
Are you saying you wouldn't cringe when someome tells you "hey, I'm kind of a movie buff"?
Are you saying you wouldn't cringe when someome tells you "hey, I'm kind of a movie buff"?
Apparently that's only true because you play videogames
I was just looking for a strong emotion. I didnt mean you personally, nor was it my inention to imply anything, or offend anyone.

Thanks for being incredibly dismissive. Why do you think a lot of these things say "yes, I'm a girl gamer. yes, I exist"? What do you think that is responding to?I'm sure that's why and not the extra views
It's INFINTELY better than "cinephile."
What makes you think video games are my only or even main medium?

Sorry, I was referring to:
This makes for a terrible example of...whatever it is you're trying to target. The reason her face is taking up most of the screen is that the actual game hasn't started yet.
