Cretinously credulous
If 5080 is 2x more powerful than my 3080 then i might be willing to spend $700.

Otherwise no point in upgrading. This shit is getting way too expensive.

It will be twice, or a bit more, powerful than 3080. It will also be twice as expensive.

I mean for sure it wont be $700. Expect much more.

The 5060 should be tied with a PS5 PRO in performance. You can be sure that Nvidia will try to push a graphics card with similar performance to the PS5 PRO for the same price as the entire console.

Nvidia tried to push the 4090 by delivering "twice the performance" of the PS5 in the spider remaster, with the card alone costing 3x the price of the PS5.
The 5060 can't be $699 because the 4070 Super already launched at $599.

Considering it has 16GB GDDR7, I wouldn't count on it. Probably looking at $1000+. Especially if it does indeed reach 4090 levels of performance.

I think I will be good with my 4090 over this gen, as long as they don't do some bullshit and make a cool feature '5 series only'....I hate that shit (made me upgrade from my 3080 to 4090 though I guess...smart, lol.

So ready for the 5090!
Aldo, the "major suprise" sounds nice.. but it's probably DLSS 4.0, innit? (Exclusive for the 50-series I guess)

Two thousand nine hundred and ninety nine US dollars

You don't buy the highest-end GPU for value and never have though. Those items are luxury items available to those who can afford it.

If you want a good value proposition you go console or mid-range PC.

As a casual observer, I'm very interested in DLSS 4. Correct me if I'm wrong but was DLSS 3 released when the 4000 series was unveiled? DLSS 3's big thing was frame gen and I'm very interested in seeing what this 'surprise' is as it could be the next big AI tech that sets the future for games and consoles. If they can kickstart technology that can generate frames from thin air, I'm curious what others things they could get this next series to generate.

I wish we could be defining "High end, Mid-tier" etc by how much the shit costs instead of the number on the box. Everyone calling the $600 4070 "mid tier" when it came out was driving me crazy lol. idk if anyone agrees or cares, but I think that drives people away from pc gaming. Reminds me of when good, well experienced players say "I'm not good", "I suck" in fighting games.

Okay how about "Mid tier [at an inflated price]"

Does that make you feel any better?

Seriously though, it's all relative.

Basically guarantees the 60 tier will be 8GB again. Probably on the same bus config too. Probably at a higher price again. This timeline blows.

Oh and you forgot it won't be any faster because of the core count drop and (likely) no GDDR7. The 60 Ti may get 12 GB GDDR7 eventually.

12GB of VRAM for the 5070 is too low, should be at least 16GB at this point even for RTX 5060. There's games that's already pushing above 8GB of VRAM even on 1080P.

Latest from MLID (yeah I know). But this wouldnt suprise me.

With no competition prices are to be continually terrible with gimped specs in the lower end of the stack.
Well fuck it. I'm holding onto my 4080, I figured they at least learned their pricing after dropping it for the super but I guess not. and finding out the 4090 only costing them 400ish dollars to produce per card was gross. AMD please get your engineering team on the ball and save us from this shit

Yeah its sucks. I guess they don't want to back away from high prices they set. Which is baffling since at the origional RTX 40XX price point the cards barely sold all that well. This is basically Ada Lovelace 2.0 in terms of class segrigation and Nvidia doing the bare minimum for a new generation. Perhaps worse because they know they can charge whatever they want. Especially since they'll likely still hold performance crown in RT across the stack. And very much doubt AMD or Intel have a chance to reach with their mid-range offerings.

Think most of us are rather numb after all this gouging. I mean I'd even pay £1200-1300 if they gave us the same GB202 in the 90 series to 5080, like they should. But instead we get more gimped specs and crap prices.

This.
So much drama with these prices.
People don't act all drama queen when getting their new iPhone Pro's do they?
And this is a so much cooler product!
Because generally speaking you finance those phones and get trade in deals, more often than not they're free to keep you attached to phone services because of the rise of prepaid switchers. I switched to Visible 4 years for 25/mo over a 4 year period I paid 1200 dollars for service vs 4800, at least, for that same amount for the same length of service. What's the point in giving companies and being proud of it?

Granted I had some gift cards + sold my 3070 so it only came out to be around 500 out of pocket for me. Even if I undercut myself and sold my 4080 for 5-600 dollars something about the fact it could be still be at least double that just feels gross.

At this point, when my 4080 isn't giving me what I expect I'm going used. I was willing to pay for high end but the cost of entry is now more than the top end. It's so ridiculous, I'm just so over a lot of this. I'm going to read some Cormac McCarthy
