I came up with a list of facts and rumors for Big Hero 6.

Facts

-First movie in the Disney movie canon to be based on a Marvel property
-First movie in the Disney animated canon to feature a half Japanese, half Caucasian main character
-Hiro Hamada, voiced by Ryan Potter, is half Japanese half Caucasian.
-In Japan, the movie is called Baymax
-Will contain a post credits stinger, possibly just a nod to the live action marvel/disney movies
-will contain references to other marvel properties

rumors

-might contain other Disney references. Not unprecedented, as many disney movies contain subtle and not so subtle nods to other disney animated movies
might contain a stan lee cameo

and here;s the big rumor

Post credits stinger might lead to a disney animated marvel cinematic universe

feel free to add to this.

The event was completely SOLD OUT. I was lucky enough to book my tickets in advance, and did plenty of planning as I thought the crowds were going to be insane, and the event non enjoyable. Let me tell you guys something, The Halloween Party is one of the BEST things I've ever done at Walt Disney World. As a seasoned veterian to the parks, and someone who has gone A LOT, the Halloween Party was a breathe of fresh air. I can't recommend this event enough to anyone who hasn't had the privilege of enjoying it yet!

I booked these three events at Fast Pass Plus as you were allowed to enter the park at four, and I wanted to maximize my event time:

The Haunted Mansion
What can't be said about this ride? This had to be one of the best rides in Disney WOrld, and puts you in the perfect Halloween Spirit. The ride is fantastic, the atmosphere, and lighting effects they get with the ghosts is just amazing, I loved it, and was the first time I actually got to experience the ride without such long lines, which makes it THAT much more enjoyable.

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Again when you don't have the hour long que this ride is so much more enjoyable. I can't believe how great this ride still holds up, it gives me enough thrill without it being a six flags roller coaster. Without a doubt so much fun, and I wish I could have gone on it twice...but everyone wants to maximize their time in the park :D!

Pirates of the Caribbean
My last fast pass selection, and boy was it worth it. When I use to go on rides I tried to take pictures, but then realized that with taking all these pictures you lose the experience of actually just sitting there taking everything in and just enjoying the ride. This ride is classic, and I hope that it never changes only improves.

Peter Pans Flight
Little to no line, this one we went to during the festivites of the party, and it was awesome, I love the story feel of it that you actually get to live the movie again, and the little town of London on the bottom was amazing to look at. I heard that this one was one of the more line intensive lines, however not during the Halloween Party!

Journey Under the Sea: The Little Mermaid

Again, another walk on ride. I thought this ride was very familiar in that it does what Peter Pans flight does and takes you through the story. However, this one seems more up to date, and less dated. I really liked the Ursulla she looked and moved fantastic, again a very cool ride.

Mickey's Philharmagic
Another favorite of mine...again no line, but man I just love the 3D and going through all the classic Disney songs. Did they always have the water come out? I don't remember it, or maybe it wasn't working when I came...but I just love this ride, and I think it might need an updated in the 3D models though :p

Snow White Seven Dwarf Mine Train
The LONGest line, which was only about 20 minutes, however it was worth it. The que was really great, and it's nice having a ride based on Disney's first classic. I loved how it went outside new Fantasy Land, and felt really SMOOTH...the ride had a great smooth feeling, and I was happy I got to try out the newest attraction!

It's A Small World
meh...it is what it is...but still nice to always see the different world cultures!

Candy

I had a FULL bucket by the end of the night which included:
  • Twix
  • Reeses
  • Milkyway
  • Various Sour candies
  • M&Ms
  • Skittles
  • Snickers

all great name brand candies!

Characters

Tinker Bell
  • The Line to meet Tink was 0 mins so I just said why not and met her, she wasn't too playful, but was very pretty, and commented on my shirts. Took our photos and scramed out.

Mickey Mouse
  • I love Mickey, no matter how many times I go, and he was in his Halloween gear! I love the interactive Mickey who talks and he told us a zombie joke...it was really fun and the talking interactive Mickey makes the magic really come alive!

Minnie Mouse
  • No line sans about 10/15 people and she was in her costume and VERY interactive, I had a great time meeting her, it was a true pleasure thanks minnie I loved her witches costume!

Donald Duck
  • Me and Donald had the same type of costume on! He loved it and Goofy wasn't too thrilled about it!

Goofy
  • Although Goofy was mad at first he then took my bucket and posed for a picture and gave me a hug, he didn't have a different costume outside the one he uses on Brainstormer...wish he had something special.

Jafar
  • 5 minute wait - he was really great and I loved taking pictures with him...always cool to meet the villians!

Jack & Sally
  • TWENTY minute wait no 2 hours or whatever has been reported, although I got him in the second boo to you parade...he was REALLY interactive and cool and I highly enjoyed his meet, if you do one outside the dwarfs do him...it was a pleasure and the cast member portraying him was outstading
.
The Hag from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
  • My first photo! She was a 4 minute wait but I lined up for her becasue I wasn't initally going to get Jack and Sally so I wanted at least ONE villian/Halloween themed person. Very playful and a pleasure awesome expierence.

Crowds
I didn't find the crowds outside of the parade or fireworks bad AT ALL, it was a smooth sailing experience, granted I didn't go with a child or someone of an elderly nature so I can only comment on that from my end.

Pictures

Parade
I LOVED IT. Tip! If you guys go to the VERY front of the magic kingdom there is a spot that no one goes to it's almost where the parade ends NO ONE WAS THERE! I GOT A FULL front view of the parade without waiting hours for it! VERY cool and I loved the parade...it made the experience ten times more better.

That one is most likely not true.

Maybe in 5-10 years there will be a power pack movie. maybe
Except Moana went from 2018 to 2016 when Frozen destroyed the world. If Big Hero 6 does gangbusters, expect more animated Marvel and soon.

A quick Google says that the Princess and the Frog team started working on a movie in 2009 (Terry Pratchett's "Mort"), and that in 2011 the rights fell apart so they changed the core of the movie, which delayed some things but allowed others to get a running start.

Then in 2013, after working on "Moana" for 2-4 years, Frozen did gangbusters, and they said "We can rush this job, and get it done by 2016 instead of 2018, 5-7 years total, instead of 7-9."

The only way a Power Pack movie is going to get done in 2 years is if they hijack Moana. It could probably be done. A little rewrite here, some details there, nobody will know the difference.

That assumes a lot.

Something that I ponder from to time is that can Disney revive the western hand drawn animation market? Was the idea behind "the vault' shortsighted in terms of preserving their brands so that many generations from now can enjoy these movies as much as we did?

When I was young I knew all about dumbo, pinocchio, cinderella, snow white, robin hood, mowgli, etc even though their respective movies came out long before I was born.

Do the kids of today know more about aladdin, ariel, belle, simba, mulan, etc more through the parks or the movies themselves?

i'm not a huge fan of the movies themselves but I respect studio ghibli a whole lot for making hand drawn animation for years after digital and CGI become more and more popular.

OTOH digital animation can be really freaking good, but most western animation studios cheap out on this.

and you can do some really freaking awesome choreography with cgi

but hand drawn animation stands the test of time. Movies like sleeping beauty, bambi, fantasia, etc are all just so gorgeous to look at.

I'm just so excited about the Christmas Party too!

It's coming for me November 21st.

I plan on meeting...

Santa
7 Dwarfs
Mickey
Minnie
Scrooge
Donald
Goofy

If I can sneak on and get Anna and Elsa I will too but otherwise I think my list is fairly dooable how is the line for Santa Jailer bad?

I don't believe Santa is bad because he shows up a lot at various resorts in the lobbies through the season so some people may not feel the need to see him.

Oh nice! I was thinking he was going to be similar to jack and Sally's line.

So I'm assuming the only challenge will be he dwarfs and Anna and Elsa

Guys just so you know Jack and Sally are coming to Magic Kindgom with their Christmas outfits.

My game plan is:

Santa
Mickey
Minnie
Donald
Goofy
Scrooge
The Seven Dwarfs

I think that's reasonable. Plus Jack should help alleviate some lines from the others. November 21st is my party date! I'm so excited guys I will give you all another full trip report.

Also Big Hero 6 is out this week? Geezd going ot have to see that too!

One of my favorite things to do at WDW is watching a movie in Downtown Disney. I like to do the Fork & Screen thing where you eat inside the actual theater auditorium. The movie ticket is a little pricey but the food is decent quality and a price lower than most restaurants in Downtown so it actually comes out to good price considering you're watching a new movie.

When's your Christmas party ticket jailer? And yes I would love to do the fork and screen I'm guessing they don't take if you have a prepaid ticket via Costco. However, I'm beyond excited and I think my character expectations will actually be easy.

Last question jailer my Christmas party shouldnt be that packed right? Not only is it in November it's the week BEFORE thanksgiving I've heard horror stories about thanksgiving week crowds.

I won't be attending this year. I made a push for the first week of December because plane tickets are so darn cheap but it didn't work out with my brother. Kinda sucks, we always take a trip to DLR or WDW in December. Oh well. We might consider a January trip.

Crowds should be similar to the Halloween party.

Just booked my trip from October 10th-17th 2015. Staying at All-Star Movies again (kind of our goto spot, dunno why but I prefer it over the fancier locations) and are doing the regular dining plan with 1 quick service and sit down.

We haven't been in 3 years so I'm really excited. We use to go 1-2 times a year, but things have been tough the last few years and we haven't been able to go.

So saw the Osborne Lights for the first time during the cast preview tonight. My mind was freaking blown. They are seriously so freaking amazing. For once I'm jelly of something of something not food related at WDW that DLR doesn't have.

I just got back from my first trip to WDW with MM+/FP+/Magic Bands. I went into it with a fairly negative attitude but for the most part was pleased with the system.

-For October anyway, availability was pretty good up until about ~2pm for most big attractions, where you could get a reasonably close FP time.
-Mine Train was the obvious outlier but we managed to get a time in advance. In passing we could have gotten another one when I was looking but the time wasn't convenient.
-Leading up to park day and during the day while you use your reserved 3 FPs you can change them at will through your phone (or the kiosks). Given that availability was pretty good for most of the day, I was able to swap things around fairly easily (with some minor app-related issues) but overall wasn't a problem. Takes the stress away from making those initial 3 FPs perfect, as you can change them at will as you use them and move around.
-Getting a 4th, 5th, etc. FP is possible as soon as you have used your last FP. You have to to go a kiosk (which is a pain, but little/no wait during my trip) but once you pick a FP there, you can readjust it on your phone as easily as the others.
-Much less time spent walking around getting FP's and waiting for windows. Using the above and daisy chaining FPs through the day we rarely rode standby and felt like we were getting a lot out of the system.

The common downsides that have been mentioned before are very much true though. Rides that previously didn't have/don't need FP have had their lines impacted horrendously by this system. Haunted Mansion/Pirates are now FP required if you wish to ride them in the same time as you did before. Thankfully we were able to adapt our schedules to this pretty quickly but still a major bummer.

We did get locked out of our room once during the trip. We had two consecutive reservations in the same room (with two sets of bands) and the day the 2nd reservation started our 2nd set of bands stopped working. Took a visit to the front desk to resolve (lady on phone was clueless) but other than that, there were no major glitches to speak of once we got down there.

I don't know what to feel about toy story 4

TS3 ended the franchise on a really high note

but it could still be a great movie

I felt that way till I saw John is directing it. I have full faith in him and that team.
