Hola Disney GAF.
Can't recall what I last posted, but managed a Disneyland Christmas trip in mid-December, where I managed to snag the last two spots for the Holiday Time Tour for me and BF. Which he loved because it made him feel like a Diamond Guest getting to skip the line for Jingle Cruise, HM Holiday and IaSM Holiday. And after first having tried in 2007, I FINALLY got to see the Holiday Fireworks. Yay lack of winds! We however did not get to see the Royal Theater performances of Tangle and BatB before they went dark for ALL FROZEN ALL THE TIME, but I do hope they will come back one day.
A little bird told me the that Hiro and Baymax weren't going to last at DL for much longer, so my supposedly DCA centric Christmas trip in early January actually started with waiting in line for those two. Good thing, turned out to be their last day. I think Hiro is so used to everyone wanting Baymax hugs he was shocked to have something other than a fistbump requested from him lol. But the true purpose of that trip was Viva Navidad! and THE THREE CABALLEROS. I'd seen the street party the year before, but from a not so great spot and hadn't gotten to actually meet Donald, Jose and Panchito, so this was Very Important. And now I will tell you about the Most Amazing Person at the DLR.
So I had been told that standing by the Paradise Brews (or whatever it is called) stand was a good spot to watch the street party, and it was! I BF and I ended up with a front and center view and Donald right there dancing in front of us. But see, I should have known I was in the right spot because next to us was... Jose Carioca Girl.
Jose Carioca Girl (JCG) was a very blonde haired, Asian young woman, with impeccably done nails in yellow and green. She was a tourist, though I sadly can not tell you if she was from Japan or China. She had a Hong Kong Disney hat, and a Tokyo Disney camera strap. But these were not the important things. Oh no. She was wearing a Three Caballeros shirt and over it a Three Caballeros hoody (neither sold in the US.) Her bags both had the Caballeros on them. On her main bag she had attached a FP holder with Jose on it that I know has only been sold at DisneySea. But that wasn't what caught your eye. Nope. See on that bag, she had attached a ton of small plushies of the Caballeros. And by the Caballeros I mean there were two Donalds (normal and Halloween), two Panchitos (ditto) and then those were totally surrounded by Jose. (Half normal, half Halloween.) She had in her OTHER FP holder a Disneyland Annual Passport (hmm.) and was of course standing where Jose would be right in front of her.
THIS IS NOT THE END OF HER STORY! Prior to the street party, we had gone to the Viva Navidad M&G spot and met with Minnie and Mickey. The CM told us the Caballeros would return at 4:30, so we headed back before then and met with Goofy, then got back in line. BF was skeptical, thinking we were getting in line too early. I pointed out JCG had just gotten in line and I had faith she knew when Jose would be back. Little did I know the truth. As the line moved forward, and the Caballeros appeared, and one group of eight caused me to panic with the amount of time they took, JCG finally made it to the front of the line. She waved to all of them, and took plushies of all of them out of her bag (LARGER ONES) and handed each out of the M&G characters and got all her pictures taken, many hugs and many blown kisses from Jose. In the meantime, the CM there, having seen me and BF now several times says to us "Sorry to say, you guys have nothing on her."
I'm like well, duh, look at her outfit! "Oh no! You see, she's been here for two and half weeks! The Caballeros are out eight times a day. She is here to see them Every Single Time!" So this woman, flew halfway around the world to Disneyland, at the busiest time of year, found lodging for almost three weeks, bought the most expensive AP (as it is the only one valid during that time) and went to DCA every time, to see Jose Carioca eight times a day, plus as many street party performances she could fit in. I salute you JCG. I only wish I could be about 1/10 as dedicated as you!
Current Disney plans: Early February - Epcot for the first time in two decades (PRINCESS LUNCH AW YEAH!)
Mid May - SWW OF DOOOOOOOOM!
Attempt one more trip to DLR in April or May before passes get blocked out.
June - Cruise to Alaska on Disney Wonder.
I can neither confirm nor deny that I am stalking Donald Duck.
