Haha perfect.
I just...I don't even know what reality they're coming from when they say things like that because its clearly not this one.

Completely baffling, indeed.

can WiiU have a possible overkill of Launch Software?

imagine like 80% of 3rd Party september-november releases on the thing?

This is why I thought the Wii U would launch earlier, but it seems that's not the case. I figured with third-parties always releasing in Oct/Nov that Nintendo could launch the Wii U a little earlier with it's first-party stuff, and build the install base. Then have the people buy the third-pary stuff around the holidays, but I guess they feel there is no such thing as overkill.

Its facing a possability of an overload of software at launch. Its not a bad thing persay but it could impact sales of software as not everyone will buy the console and 10 games the same day. Thankfully I just found out im getting a 3k bonus check October 21st so just in time for Wii U me thinks lol

I've never had a gaming side ban.

EDIT: Oh wait, my first ban was port begging.

I only had one ban. I am not sure if it was backmodding or threatening. I told lupinko that he would get ban if he is lying. (Sorta tried to force him that he made up the roster and bam, I got banned.) Lesson learned and he was right.

I don't think having too much software at launch is a bad thing, really.
As long as their all quality titles.
They'll still be around after the system launches, and it'll help for the post launch lull that always happens.

It has sold more comparatively, but it's going to have to boost its numbers up substantially to keep up with where the DS went from here.

And you can bet that'll happen with NSMB2 and Animal Crossing, as well as whatever else they announce and release this year.

These guys mentioned first party launch games or that they, along with third party, are good.

Realistically, how many games first party that will be at the show do they know about???

I cannot imagine they know anything coming from Nintendo's first party studios in Japan..so Retro and maybe NST?

I can't believe Pachter is defending the console o__o

I can. The most cunning people who get paid to troll and run their mouths off always take a classic temporary turn into "I'm gonna stay relevant by surprising folks by sounding more 'balanced' about something I was previously dead set against and split my angle on the subject." Those are the ones who last the longest. There's more and more positive buzz about Wii U so he just looks even more dumb not changing his tune just a little. So he eases up on Wii U then turns his "doomed dial" up against the 3DS more than usual. It's subtle yet smart showmanship and I'm sure it nets him a lot of cash on the side from whoever he fronts for (mobile industry, ect).

if Sony can turn Vita around then the 3DS thing could prove to be true, after all the Vita is a sweet machine it only needs more great software to push it and maybe a price drop to help it limp out of the hole... so that 3DS is dead in the water thing is possible but will Nintendo ALLOW it?

3DS Lite

Vita needs to become smaller.

The alternative would be those titles being held over until they are even further behind their PS360 counterparts.

I think it is a potential issue, and realistically maybe it would allow Nintendo to hold back a few titles for 2013.

Thanks for linking to that discussion. I have to say that actually made me more excited for Wii U. They really seem to think that 3rd parties are going to support it well. If that ends up being true then combine that with Nintendo's franchises and the WII U becomes a very strong choice. More so if it's priced reasonably.

I once told the overcooked Sus, he wouldn't last til E3. I was laughing back then.
Now I stand here, at his wake.
I can't laugh anymore.

Maybe, but without knowing the intricacies of the guts, I won't believe this, and am sure my GTX 570 will outclass in performance and feature-sets anything the Wii U ever does.
When AMD started to work on the Wii U GPU, they took the most cutting edge GPU design they had at that point, which was the R700, and tweaked and customized it for about two years. The final chip wasn't taped out until June 2011 at earliest, which makes it at least three months more "modern" than your GTX570 - regardless of performance or feature set.

We've heard a few people that were really excited about third party games they've heard about that aren't announced yet.
So it should be good stuffs.

I just have a question. When a game is supposed to use BOTH screens (TV and DRC), is it still possible to stream the game only on DRC ? I mean, every game will be playable on DRC only, or sometimes, it will be impossible ?

Depends on the game.
Some will use both for gameplay, others could easily be put on the subscreen only.

stop playing with my heart man

my hopes... my hype is rising

Last E3, it seemed like Nintendo emphasized the ability to play while the TV is being occupied, so I'm expecting lots of games to be playable in some form on the DRC only.

Call me crazy, I hope Konami does something neat with Yugioh WiiU or Dragon Collection. Imagine playing a card game on upad. Seeing both real cards or ingame cards. You and a friend can duel on one upad.

It's not difficult to imagine that some games won't be compatible with DRC only (take for example the games where you use the DRC for "augmented" vision, like the baseball demo). So it'll be impossible sometimes.

The good question is whether Nintendo will push developpers to implement this possibility as soon as it's possible, or if it'll be only a matter of developper caring to do it.

I think in that bush over there. xD :P
That's a cloud, not a bush ^_^

What would be a nice bonus is if a developer has zero idea fpr a clever gamplay use of the subscreen but give the player the option to play the game at 60 fps on the tablet native resolution.

Well, according to Vigil, it took them minutes to program the game to play on the subscreen.

so what was smellycats' May 25 countdown about?

as long as its not 'dated' :3

In terms of features, it shouldn't be.
It'll still be the weakest GPU of the next gen consoles, though.

In Japan in particular that is a big feature, because there are less homes with multiple tv sets, so I expect a decent amount of games to be allowed without the tv.

Man, thinking about Eternal Darkness II again. I really really hope that's true. I'd cry manly tears.
It's on my manly tears short list, alongside a Wind Waker-style console Zelda, a StarTropics resurrection, my own dream stealth-in-1920s-Paris/Europe game, and a console Icarus game.

So basically, it's my best chance of tearing-up at E3, 'cause the others aren't happening.

I found this quote by Iwata from last E3:

Up until now, home console games had to occupy the TV screen in order to be played. But, the new controller for Wii U with 6.2-inch screen means you won't need to give up your gameplay when someone else comes in the room and wants to watch a TV programme.

Obviously things can change, but it really sounds like Nintendo is emphasizing this ability.

I really think that an NFC card game could be pretty big.
You won't need any add ons like Eye of Judgement, and if they maybe tie it in with a new cartoon...

Eww@Eye of Judgement! Saw something in Xros Wars that gave me an idea. Basically, kids were using tablet like pads to duel. They sit their cards on the pad while monsters battle it out on screen. Could work on WiiU if done right.

Not sure what this means?
What he's saying is all documented.
Doesn't mean it's going to out class EC's 570, but it'll have a more modern feature set, certainly.
More modern feature set? Depends on how you look at it I guess. It most likely has several features that are more "modern" simply by virtue of being unique to the platform and the chip coming out a few months later, but it'll also lack quite a few features of the "older" GeForce 5000 series.
