300 dollars is what i expect, 400 is the most i'm willing to pay.
I believe this ought to be rather difficult seeing as Rare Limited is now a Microsoft subsidiary. Though anything can happen, Rare did audiovisual work, computer program, sounds and music for Diddy Kong Racing DS in 2007. But I wouldn't bet on a Banjo-Kazooie game for Wii U.This thread is impossible to keep up with.
I see someone else has thought of a Retro Banjo-Kazooie sequel. That would be hilarious.
You know what? Screw mass marketing pricelets have photo realealistic graphics today
a DUAL Graphics card based on QuadroFX 5800, with a mighty 240 cores (3,000 dollars). (drivers were re-written, for gaming)
The console comes with 64 gb or ram.
Processor? (Anyone knows the best processor for a graphic workstation)?
...... really?
.... SERIOUSLY??!?
Did/Do you work for Atari or Magnavox ??
I wouldn't bet on it either, but they're perfectly capable of re-acquiring the IP for Retro...Rösti;37614870 said:I believe this ought to be rather difficult seeing as Rare Limited is now a Microsoft subsidiary. We can complete this list together to create the true beast console.

HOLY SHHHHH,,,,if this is true then I really wanna see what Nintendo is planning for marketing the thing,,,,Micro did what? like half billion for markting Kinect ? Nintendo needs to be in everyone face with the WiiU especially since its gonna be near Xmas !
Where did this talk of advertising dollars come from? Is there an OP or link somewhere? If Nintendo is matching advertising dollars thats a pretty good incentive for 3rd parties to get on the wii u at launch. Gotta love some free promotion.
Well, the userbase of Wii U is 0 right now so early ports give publishers a chance to ESTABLISH a profitable audience on the platform for their preferred content.
That is a big incentive to do it from Day 0. It'll be cheap for them to port and the potential payoff is rather big as people wane from current systems and they can sustain profits on Wii U till PS4/XboxNext comes out without having to increase dev size that dramatically.
So, get in early with your core content, establish a user base that buys those types of games, and get medium-term profits. It's not a bad strategy. That, and Nintendo will match marketing dollars for select launch titles, and who doesn't want free money?
Last, CoD Wii gets Acti ~1MM incremental sales. That's more than a lot of these games will sell at all... so, go get your pie third parties. Eat it too.

lol according to amazon tekken and ninja gaiden are frequently bought together. lolWii U games for pre-order on Amazon:

What other retailers have Wii U games listed?
Wow, now I just imagine Nintendo paying for AC3 ads that show ps3 footage and multi plat logos at the end. That would suck for Nintendo. Maybe select titles means wii u exclusives only or ads that only show the wii u versions and logo.I think Nintendo is going to let word of mouth market Wii U like they did with Wii. They'll focus more on getting the controller in peoples' hands and let that do the advertising. But there will be commercials as well.
Found it.

Too bad both of those games are mediocre.
of course it's not mass market, i wasn't implying it was. the ps3 was horribly overpriced.if one takes all the hardcore gamers around who picked up a PS3, likely yes.
but mass market, this is not
SF is a mediocre series with one outstanding entry. It's one of Nintendos worst franchises in terms of average quality and market appeal. It's also quite clear, that nintendo doesn't really know what to do with it after SF64.
I'm sure I was joking. That's not how it works. Any advertising Nintendo pays for will promote the game on Wii U only, and would be subject to approval. Nintendo isn't just blindly doaling out cash to third party marketing budgets.

but bg didnt Nintendo thought "the word of mouth" approach was going to work with the 3DS and they kinda admitted it didn't ()I think?
so its much like COD ads for the Xbox and how it has many exclusives, and then at the end show probably just boxarts for other consoles ?
Seems like MS might not have all that much to show at E3 after all. On the latest bonus round Patcher said he's heading over to MS in the upcoming weeks and they told him to not expect a lot of games and rather dashboard stuff.
Seems like they're going for Halo 4, CoD, Kinect, and Home Entertainment Device stuff at E3. It's just Sony I'm not sure of at this point. Seems like if Nintendo doesn't fuck up they'll have the best E3.
i don't know what happened with star fox. they make star fox 1, one of the best snes games, and then we got sf64, which wasn't as good, but still great... and then...![]()
I don't recall that being the case for 3DS. All I remember was "People loved the E3 presentation. Let's launch 3DS for $249.99!"
Star Fox 64 is the outstanding entry. It took the series above and beyond. It has not evolved since. But it is clearly the foundation from where the franchise needs to move from.

Actually the talk was about Star Fox's appeal outside of a niche audience.
Really!
and yes Seriously!

Aside from the fact that it's design language was ridiculous since it's inception, the horrible redesigns of Fox and co. are a testament to Nintendos reluctance to invest much into the franchise.
I see the franchise at a dead end and thats why I stick with my assertion that Retro would waste their talent on a new SF. As would pretty much everyone else.
lol ,,,u know I'm one of the people that think if Nintendo did launch the thing with an amazing software and then kept the momentum, there would be no need for the price cut.

.
Adventures happened because Miyamoto thought the characters in Dinosaur Planet lined up with the Star Fox series.
you know, if something like f-zero or star fox isn't worth a full retail release, how about using those IPs to really start pushing the eshop? give me a wipeout hd equivalent to f-zero, damn it.
The only danger is.. if they push too hard, they run the risk of losing their base. It's going to be a bit delicate for them to make this shift in focus. If they spend most of one E3 (maybe not this one) saying, "hey! look at all of the non-gaming stuff that the 720 can do!" we're going to hear no shortage of indignant howling from the audience they already have.XBOX's days as a game brand are over. Microsoft's grand vision has always been to use the game console as a trojan horse to rule the living room, and Kinect got them the install base to do it. Not saying that's a bad thing (depends on your opinion of things) but their focus going forward is going to be all the other cool stuff XBox does.

Should be fun to watch, haha!
This is setting up to be a primarily boring E3 press conference run.

I was thinking ,,,,what if Nintendo announced that WiiU would cost 349.99 $ , I can seriously see Media Bitching/Whining/Meltdowns all across the interwebs,, cuz as far as I can see they wanted it to be launched at the original Wii price !! which is INSANE !! I mean people seemed perfectly fine with the 3DS price at E3 , in fact when people were speculating about the Vita price, everyone seemed to suggest that it would cost way more than 250$, and when Sony said "250$" everybody was jumping with joy about the price and how amazing it is !!! ,,,,now everybody is saying how Vita is overpriced and needs a price cut ASAP,,,WTH ??
what I'm trying to say is, if Nintendo deliver the promise of WiiU being worth every single penny (whether its 300,350 or 400$) and most people seemed OK with that price, we will be seeing alot of articles saying how expensive it is and how people should avoid it for now (cuz price cut is eminent?) and what Nintendo can really do at that point ?
I really dont wanna be in Nintendo shoe right now :/
I dont recall gaf liking the 3ds price lol
I said this in another thread, but I often wonder the fate of that IP if RARE had originally made the main characters a Koala Bear instead of a fox? Forcing the Star Fox IP onto that game was a disaster.
Man, I remember my teenage self being so pumped for Dinosaur Planet. It was going to be this epic, sprawling, adventure and then... It wasn't.

I've decided to work on Monday, deciding to save my vacation time for gaming stuff later in the year. It won't be worth the day off, I think.Yeah. I think I might just skip the whole first day altogether and actually go to work.
Eh I prefer it to be primarily a gaming console first and foremost, but it seems to be heading in a different direction than what I would have wanted.
I don't think it was the starfox license that did that game in. Rare struggled to evolve their game design and by the time the gamecube rolled around, Rare was a crusty stale shell of their former self. By that point, all of their adventure games were just 3D collectathons. Nintendo chucked them at the perfect moment, when their market value was still incredibly high but after the magic had faded.
The market expectations for nintendo are ridiculous. There is literally nothing nintendo could put under the hood for a reasonable price that would impress the gaming media. They're all already convinced that Wii U is outdated in the looming shadow of PS4 and XB3.
What nintendo really needs to do is conquer the living room before MS or Apple really get a strong foothold.
