There's just something else about Flotsam and the forest.

It's more than just flat ground, with buildings and trees. The landscape and architecture in this game are amazing. There are paths, bumps and curves that don't lead anywhere, but are just there to make it seem like a real world.

There's so much depth to the location, and it's only one damn location. Hope the next chapters provide the same awesome feeling.

Because I think you're supposed to go to a dwarf town. That should be awesome.

Can anyone who's finished Chapter 2 help me? Either the main quest is bugged or I'm retarded.

I'm at the part where you have to fight Dethmold and co. I killed all of henchmen and the named guy but Dethmold is just staring at me from the other side of the magical bubble. Is there something I need to do that I'm missing?

Agreed. It is hands down the best jungle in any game ever. This game takes my breath away with how amazing it looks at every turn. The jungle was breathtaking as it started to get darker around golden hour.

It feels like... a town pretty much.

That's what's so great about this game visually. Not only is it running on an incredible brand new engine, but it's got some exceptional art design and one of the best UIs to back it up.

Okay, so I did dice with the Monk in the basement of the inn at Flotsam, and the game said I could have some secret reward and to go to Gog.com for it. Apparently, if you get lucky and roll double of the same numbers or something it unlocks this.

I went to gog.com, but I have no clue wtf to do or what this unlocks.

Anyone?

Edit: Nvm. Looks like it's either just an ad for Gog.com or the actual reward isn't in the game yet even though you do this. :(

Does anyone have a problem with the launcher ? My Steam copy doesn't kick in when I click on Play. I just have this stupid wolfhead floating in the middle of the screen and nothing more.

Sorry to quote myself but I have tried to run both Steam and the game in Administrator mode but that didn't help either. Some minutes before, Avast gave me a warning about Steam but I told the programme that Steam is safe. Since then, no possibility to play. What could possibly be wrong ? COuld you help me GAF ?

I don't know what version you played, but when I can see pores, individual chest hairs and wrinkles on character's faces, I call that pretty damn good.

There are characters with chest hairs on their faces? :p

I'm rather "complaining" (not really complaining, because they still look good) about models than textures; some just look a little off (for example Bussy's and Anais' faces) and because everything else look so damn good, they stand out (at least for me). As I've said, textures are top notch, some of the best I've seen in a while.

I said this earlier on but I feel like I had an epiphany feeling with this game... it's the first time in any game that I felt like the game world TRULY feels real, living and alive. Like it has actual weight and like I'm actually doing something meaningful and not juts playing a game. Hard to describe it. It's like I could actually reach out and touch those trees and it would feel like a tree.

I'm very happy for games and graphics to continue in the 'realism' direction because I like the idea of real fantasy. Me experiencing things that I couldn't in my real life.

No I decided to not give it to him and he ambushed me when I left town. I got a quest completed after that but after a certain fight it stated I failed it

Do you want to know what happens if you let him blind fold you?

So, I made the mistake of
thinking I could get laid by Malena, but she set an ambush on me and run off. Now, I'm supposed to "find" her and I've run everywhere, but no idea where she's run off to after the waterfall.

Anyone have any idea?

Edit: Found the bitch.

Two Things:

1) I still have no clue how to use Mutagens and how to do Enchantment. Help?

2) I'm playing on pad, and as I was playing I kept realizing I was bumping into something with the 360 controller, I looked down and realize that this game had given me such a stiff erection from how amazing it is, that I'm trying to contact CDProjekt to use this game as a cheaper form of Viagra. Thoughts?

Sure. Do you get something good out of it? I'll try to remember for my next playthrough. I tend to go for the best reward option but right now I'm just playing myself.

Also the tatoo sucks I can't believe I'm stuck with it for the rest of the game :lol

Dang I love this game, everyone does it differently.

What I did
I got the bitch arrested.

But just to see what happened if I chose the other option I loaded my file and did it your way, instead of taking on the ambush I just chased her straight to where she was hiding in the ruins and sliced her down, was satisfying to kill her myself I must say. Reloaded my original file though because first choice always counts.

Have you spoken to triss about it in the Inn? She apparently says that she can get rid of the Tattoo? So I'm hoping she can get rid of it!!

If you let him blind fold you and take you, you get knocked out and taken to a cave where a bunch of Salamandra dudes are, they take all your stuff and lock you in a cell. You can use Aard to break out and then grab a sword from a rack and kill them all and there is some pretty lucretive loot lying around in their cave.

You should be able to find this cave just by running around in the forest however so you haven't missed it. It's well hidden, but you'll find it if you search :)

Check your Avast virus chest. It may have put The Witcher 2's exe or the Steam exe in there. If so, restore them.

Hmm interesting, can you give me an example of loot just so I know if I haven't been there already? Because I think I've been about everywhere already :lol

Hmmm, so it seems attacks can still hit you even if they don't connect on you. Not totally an action game in that respect, but clearly much more than Witcher 1 was(despite trying to look it).

I don't think I like the combat much. I mean I like the difficulty, but don't see much of a strategy outside being very careful and slow in fights against crowds. I could be missing something big though.

I am really going to be having an internal struggle tonight... continue with the witcher 2 or play LA Noire which I just picked up.

Probably will end up playing LA Noire all night tonight and that's all well and good, but when it comes to this weekend - what takes preference!?!?!

Probably will go through LA first because I want Witcher to last as long as possible.

Why is it that I continually feel like saying "this game is so good" in every post that I make. I feel like I'm just repeating myself and don't have anything more to say.

I want to point out every little thing that I like about the game, but then I feel like I'd be sitting there for hours writing out the list when I could just say "everything".

I'm finding myself doing the same thing on various forums continuing to blabber on about the greatness of this game. I haven't loved a game this much since Shenmue 2, which doesn't surprise me, because a lot of what I loved about Shenmue, with its incredible attention to detail and amazing atmosphere within the game world, hell, just the way both games feel "handcrafted", for the lack of a better term, is very similar in feel to me with TW2.

The line of dialog you hear in the whorehouse in Flotsom is hilarious:

Whore 1-"You ever hear of doing it Witcher and Striga Style?"

Whore 2- "No what's that?"

Whore 1- "It's where he drinks a flask then falls asleep in her chamber and she wakes up still a virgin in the morning!"

Both Whores- "LOLOLOROFLOLOLOL"

<3 this game.

Eh, to be fair, the English voices aren't completely terrible. Plus, you get achievements!

This is easily my game of the year.
I kinda want all the premium stuff too. Ill prolly pick up steam ver when they have it on sale. Replaying it for cheevos ain't a bad idea. ;)

Kayran went down like a punk bitch. I was expecting it to be harder after all the trouble mobs have given me considering it was a boss. The endrega queen was a bigger pain in the ass.

What do I have left of chapter one? I have no quests left in my journal aside from Mystic River and the main one.

You still have an hour or two left in chapter 1.

Hilary Goldstein GAF account confirmed.

Pranking with you, it's really impressive stuff.

I'm pissed about it tbh, GoG users have it already, which means Launcher is not the same across GoG/Steam version. CDP is really dropping the ball in supporting all of their customers.
There has to be a way to redirect which server the launcher checks. It would be great if someone figured that out.

Grapeshot Bombs work wonders on mobs.

Enchantment/Mutagens...how do? :(

Check your abilities in the ability tree. If there is a hollow circle beneath an ability that you already have that means you can attach a mutagen to it. When you hover over it you'll be given the option to use a mutagen and you can select from the ones that you have.

Not sure about enchantments.

My favorite way to deal with the queen is to trap the entire area, summon her and then slow her down using Yrden. That way, you can make her follow you over the traps to her death.

Are mutagens permanent or can you replace with better ones?

Well plough me, never thought to use traps.

I used the insectoid oil and flanked her hitting the side without the armor with heavy attacks. It took me a while to figure out how to kill the first one but the second one went down that way on the first try.

zlatko said:

The manual says "The mutation cannot be reversed." so I'm guessing no. I'll see if I can erase and replace an a mutation later when I get the chance.

Stiiiill in chapter 1, doing all the stuff leading up to fighting kayran. I've been doing virtually every possible side quest so far, and did a lot of exploring, which is probably why I'm not into Chapter 2 yet. I tend to love side quests in RPGs a lot, so that's not too surprising.

It took me roughly 12 hours to clear Chapter 1.

I don't like the idea personally. Mutagens are loot that you come across like crazy. There's no point in even having lessers/normal mutagens since everyone who doesn't want to gimp their character will wait until they can get the best of the best.

Only retail gets special DLC.

Also, just finished chapter 2. 25 hours so far so I could easily see 35+ hours for my final playthrough time. A bit shorter than TW1 but from what I've seen there's some drastic choices that should make my second playthrough very different.

Also, bugs. :( Hopefully CDPR supports this game as much as they did with TW1. I wouldn't mind an EE with bug fixes and added DLC. Then give us expansion packs followed by TW3 on an updated Red engine featuring DX11 features. :p

I think this is the first game to ever make me not hate the Elves in it. They're fairly different on here, and they look smaller without all looking like Legolas. I really dig it.
