So I finally started this last night. Just 3 days after beating the first game. It was a bit of a shock, really. I had gotten pretty fond of the mechanics in the first game, so I really wasn't feeling all the new stuff at first. I played for about 3 hours, and by the time I was wrapping things up I felt I had a pretty good hold on everything.
It's strange, but one thing I really miss is the cursor on screen. A lot of the time I would point it at a door or chest and run towards it until the option to 'open' popped up, then I'd click it and could take me hands off the keyboard for a while. Probably seems stupid, but it was just something I had done for so long in the first game.
I'm able to run everything on High with a pretty stable 35 FPS, which is good enough, I guess. I was spoiled with the constant 100 FPS in the first game, though.
Also, I didn't realize there would be the option to import my save which was a nice surprise. Just a few hours in and I'm already seeing my decisions from the first game come into play here. Question, though,
I chose Triss over Shani, so Triss was in bed with me at the beginning for 2, but would Shani be there if I would have picked her?
.
I'd also just like to point out for anyone who hasn't played the original - Multiple times I have started games before with the intention of rolling right into the sequel, but most of the time I get so burnt out by the end of the first game that I never end up following through. At the end of the first game, I could not wait to start the next game immediately. The only reason it took me 3 days is because I went out of town. If you haven't played the first game, play it.
