Anyone else so excited for this and nothing else, they just keep cycling through all the different Witcher threads barely checking the rest of Gaf?
I've never played a Witcher game.
I feel like the hype is going to make me buy this. Am I going to be completely lost with the lore? Or will it be like Dragon Age where it's somewhat easy to jump in part-way through the series?
Got my email from them this morning. Hope it comes on Monday.
Is that for console? I ordered the PC version and not had an email yet. Seems they'll be posting Monday and much later than elsewhere.

Got both the PC and the PS4 version. I'm in Ludwigshafen, Germany and every store here is selling it, Saturn, Media Markt and Gamestop. Witchin time y'all.
I know that you can play the PS4 version, but can you also play the PC version ? Or is the PC version locked until tuesday ?

Giant Bomb released a 'playdate' video of the Witcher 3 (basically a less structured quick look done live) where they played the first hour and a half of the game; Xbox One version. If you're hungry for footage this is a great video of real gameplay.
Aside from a bit of jank, it looks like it'll be a lot of fun.
Even if you start with Witcher 1, you're still jumping into the lore in the middle of things.I've never played a Witcher game.

Do you really think any company would make their biggest game so far make their users lost?
Can PS4 controller work with PC version without installing 3rd drivers?
Should i buy Xbone controller if not?
I have the 360 controller and tbh i hate it with a passion. The hardness of the buttons and shitty dpad, it is only good for twitch FPS.
The events from Witcher 2 are key to what is happening in Witcher 3 though so you might want to read up on that.
Sorry if this was already discussed in detail, but are there any details on how the day one patch improves the performance?
They really overdid the grit this time in Geralt's voice. It's kind of annoying. In 2 he just sounded old and calm.
Game is AMAZING. Played nonstop 11 hours. Completed every sidequest/contract/story mission in the starting area.White Orchard
This game feels just what I expected it to be.
The only problem I encountered is that the game crashes when I skip my turn in Gwent. Day 1 patched is installed. Its really annoying.
What system you gaming on? PS4?
Even their marketing shows it off how they changed it, it's not marketed as "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" it's more marketed as "The Witcher: Wild Hunt" where they still retain the "3" as a claw mark but it's unsuspecting unless you've heard a lot about the series. If you've been oblivious or never heard of it, you'll more likely pick it up instead of thinking "I should play the other 2 first".
vs new marketing

Gunna keep asking as more and more articles pop up. Are there any Witcher 3 impressions from people who did not like the mechanics of Witcher 1 and 2?
I think you just helped me. ThanxI'm sure theres more I just dont know them but the only press guy I can think of that really hated Witcher 2 is Jim Sterling and he hasnt reviewed W3. Although, he loves Dynasty Warriors so his opinion doesnt matter anyway. ; )

I've heard several different things. Does anyone know if this game the last of The Witcher series? Or just the conclusion of Geralt's story? Or neither?

I'd be surprised if CD Projekt RED discontinued the series considering the acclaim and sales numbers this game is likely to put up, but some of the devs past comments seem to suggest it.
