You mean the group of several people riding on horseback? If so, there's a gif somewhere earlier in the thread of that

Can someone slo-mo GIF this?

Semantics then. When you said core, I interpreted it as shader core (a GPU really is just a vast collection of smaller and more specialized cores working in parallel after all). Much in the same vein that I consider Hawaii and Bonaire GPUs to very much be the same GCN architecture as Tahiti and Pitcairn (with some light and external modifications like ACEs or TrueAudio). Pitcairn is just a code name for specific PC GPUs and I recognize that the PS4's die shot reveals a very different spatial orientation as an APU, but when the parts are all of equal amount of value with no evident change to the core architecture (which they are in the PS4's GPU in every metric we can measure it by), I'm back to my original point of it seeming like a (spatially and efficiency) modified Pitcairn.

Yeah, I was not talking about the the "shader cores", I was meaning the whole chip (as in GPU core).

My main point is that it is not a 7870, unlike what that site said still stands though.

It is not a 7870 nor a 7850 in the strictest sense because it is neither the cards those names embody nor does it have the same number of CUs active as either, but it is based on the same amount of the same quality of CUs (shaders, TMUs), ROPs, and memory controllers and more represents a theoretical 7860 architecturally, and a 7850 in practicality (with its lower clock speed). I'm not saying it is exactly the same as either card/GPU (like the ACEs), but its core architecture pretty much is. In what sense do you mean GCN 2? When I think GCN 2.0, I think of the as-of-yet unreleased Pirate Islands architecture which should feature some actual changes to the CUs. I wouldn't consider a part with the same architectural qualities as existing GCN 1 chips to be anything beyond a revision of those (i.e. GCN 1.1). There's really nothing different about it, it's all based on AMD's current designs. Customized, yes, but unlikely to resemble what we'll see in AMD's next-gen GCN chips, unless they're simply planning on using the smaller fabrication process to stuff more of the same CUs on a die without any other changes, which would be incredibly disappointing and uncharacteristic of a new microarchitecture, especially after 3 years of waiting.

Some people call the second version of GCN, "GCN 2" or "GCN 2.0" others call it GCN 1.1, I do not think AMD gave it an official name.

Gog is fucking amazing, they're giving me $21 back in classic PC games due to my crappy regional pricing.

It's $71.99 AUD for us Aussies. (with TWEE & TW2 Discount). I remember preordering TW2 for $45, before this regional pricing bullshit.

And of course our version would probably get censored by the dinosaurs at the Classification office :-\

GOG priced me 36£ after (W1 and W2 discount) pretty good deal I guess.

You get the soundtrack, avatars, HD wallpapers, and artwork from GOG.com for preordering. I just got them all.

Check the email associated with your GOG account for the code for the bonus comic book at Dark Horse's website and the code for the GOG copy of Neverwinter Nights.

Hey guys. I'm thinking of starting the books, but there are two English versions available in the store I'm looking at, one published in the US and one in the UK. Anyone know if there is any significant difference between the two as far as the script is concerned? And if so which one would be preferable. I'm from Sweden but I don't feel very confident in the Swedish translation after reading the abomination that is the Metro 2033 translation.

I've played W2 and I'm very much looking forward to the third installment of the witcher series!

Are we for sure that's Yennifer on the right? Black hair, yes, but we've never seen her in-game before.

Anyone else here read the books? I'm up through Blood of Elves, I think is the most recent one that's been translated to English.

Time of Contempt has been translated already, and Baptism of Fire comes out June 24th. Get reading!

I've been wanting to import the hardcover of Blood and Elves because they don't sell it in the USA.

It looks sooo pretty... but I just hate the combat in these games.

Yeah. I want this game to be good so bad. SO BAD! But I played the 2nd one a bit on my friend's 360 and the combat feels like a struggle. After playing something like Dragon's Dogma where the combat was amazing (but that's really all it had going for it IMO), it's just hard to deal with stiff characters. I really hope they've fixed that here.

The combat mod for The Witcher 2 PC gives a preview of how it's gonna be for 3. The mod designer works for CD Projekt RED in The Witcher 3. His job is exactly to design the combat mechanics.

Unfortunately I can't try that out since I have a laptop that can't play anything like that. But it's good to know that they have someone dedicated to the combat.

I'm going to guess the person running away at the end of the trailer (or in this webm), is Yennefer. The person looks like they have white fabric over their elbows like Yennefer has in the ship scene. It would also match if the rope she has tied in front of her is a cloak. Just a guess though.

I dunno, I'm bored and hyped.

Time of Contempt, then.. lol. I am caught up, I know that much. The one that ends with the assault on the mage's.. conclave... thingie, and Ciri ends up rather far away, but Nilfgard's already looking for her. Baptism of Fire isn't listed for Kindle yet.

Well, in any event, nice to know what Yennifer looks like after all this time.. hehe. It's very interesting seeing the three of them together like that, considering their relationships.

Finally! Yes! #TeamSaskia all day, every day!

#TeamSaskia - Riding Dragons and Killing Monsters

She was definitely best girl along with the Succubus in Witcher 2.

But this Yennefer design is just absolutely beautiful >_<

I'm #TeamYennefer now, sorry.

My first impression was that the raven was Yennefer (or Yennefer's), and she was trying to buy time for Ciri to escape. I didn't notice the fabric though, so you're probably right.

I got to say I have not finished Witcher 2 due to
Not knowing if I should save Saskia or Triss

Yeah, Saskia and Ves were my favorite in 2. I'm just so excited to finally see Yennefer and Ciri. :D This series has so many awesome female characters.
