I would assume that people who are Team Yennefer have actually read the novels and didn't just pick her because reasons?
I've read the books and I'm #Team
Geralt'sChoice
. When there's an existing universe, I prefer to just play with what the main character would choose as opposed to what I like best. But I do like Yennefer best.

My apologies if this was answered already, but did they say how it's going to run on the PS4? 1080p/30fps? 900p/30fps? Thanks.

A few months ago they said the ps4 version is running 900p/30fps and that they were working hard to get it to 1080p.

I KNOW it's not going to be 60, so i would hope they can get it to 1080p.

There is no way my PC is running this as well as the ps4 probably can. My gfx card can't do 60 on witcher 2.

But that's not so black and white
In the books they have a magical attraction to each other they can't really break even if they wanted to, so it's not really like much of his choice now is it?

As somebody who has read the short stories and the novels, not to mention played the games (I know I'm so unique amirite) I definitely go team triss. Throughout the novels she always has seemed to care the most for him and even tries to help him reach his supposed fated one despite her feelings.

As an avid anime watcher, that's the motherfucking definition of Best Girl. Yennefer would be like the childhood friend or the first girl he meets in the show. She's the obvious choice for most, but not necessarily the best.

Avoiding anime stereotype talk, your best girl may not be my best girl or the next person's best girl. All up to your own taste. I wouldn't call Triss being the obvious choice by a long shot either and that's the beauty of different opinions. :)

But I don't agree that Geralt loves Yennefer against his will. I seriously doubt what made them fated was against his will either. They just have a complicated relationship and at times they handle it like children. :p

Thanks for the info. Hopefully it looks somewhat close to what's shown in this trailer. Looks stunning.

You can't call it against his will, but you can't really know because he's simply attracted to her. He wouldn't be able to know.
And that's the reason. And yeah the anime thing was a joke if that wasn't obvious no need to tell me about opinions.

Either ways the games are canon so up to this point it's up to the reader. I mean he's already been forced to choose sides plenty of times, not exactly as neutral as he'd like to be in the novels.

From what I remember, the author has said the games aren't canon. But as usual, I could be mistaken.

Edit: From Eurogamer
"Maybe it's time to set the matters straight," he went on. "'The Witcher' is a well made video game, its success is well deserved and the creators deserve all the splendour and honour due. But in no way can it be considered to be an 'alternative version', nor a 'sequel' to the witcher Geralt stories. Because this can only be told by Geralt's creator. A certain Andrzej Sapkowski."

Has Andrej Sapkowski even acknowledged the games as canon? Didn't he comment once that he didn't like games at all?
Did he say that? If so I'd like some proof I had it for an understanding that they were supposed to be seeing how they follow the events of the last novel. And he hasn't really written more as far as I know.

Best looking game yet. The animations and detail of the enemies are insane.

I have the first 2 from Steam sales. Is it ABSOLUTELY necessary that I play the first game? It just seems so janky. Well I guess I haven't tried it yet on my new PC, so maybe it could be alright.

Real talk bros. The books any good? I heard the translation was kinda shit and the order was completely fucked when coming to the US so my lore is strictly from the games

IMO no. First game has not aged well at all, and I thought TW2 was a hundred times better anyway.

It's not absolutely necessary but I feel that it's definitely worth it.

The combat mod for The Witcher 2 PC gives a preview of how it's gonna be for 3. The mod designer works for CD Projekt RED in The Witcher 3. His job is exactly to design the combat mechanics.

This is highly interesting. Got a link to a decent description/comparison? I could not stand the combat in the previous Witcher games.

Combat is janky and the first real area is a bit fetch quest heavy, but everything else is great. Especially the story of course.

To guy asking about novel quality:

Short story novels are your best bet as there are only 2 of them and they're both translated to English I believe. The novel series is Damm good too. If you're fluent in another language they're pretty easy to find. English they're slowly bringing them out.

It is kinda janky, but I think it is a MUCH better game than the second one. The sense of place in the world in the original is unmatched.

That's the whole point of books - Geralt wants the world to leave him alone so he can lead his lifestyle of killing monsters but the world doesn't want to and it leads him to being forced to choose sides.

Announce data of launch game after visiting Obama in Poland... So... Mr. President, next step - office Valve pls

will they do a whole mass effect-esque intro for this game?

the one where the comic cutscenes played out alongside narration and we got to choose the big decisions.

never got around to playing the first two games, so i hope cd projekt red does something similar to what bioware did for the peeps who never played the previous game but also wanted some tweaks instead of getting a preset choice.
