Wow so much better that the frame pacing has been corrected on Xbox One. Turned the camera sensitivity up from 0.70 to 1.50 now and its so smooth.

It's a bit of dialogue as you walk through the
Sunstone dungeon at the very end.
You can miss it if you're sprinting through.

Cool. At first I was pretty convinced going with Yen was a no-brainer, but it's a lot more debatable now after reading a bunch of posts in this thread. The plot thickens with every bit of info (though this particular bit favors Yen). Interesting.

Would have preferred frizzy haired Yen but at least her face turned out great. Triss is a big downgrade from Witcher 2 even. She has the face of a 12 year old here

I finally advanced the story through White Orchard and into Velen. My first reaction to the map was "holy s* this place is big". Am I close to being near a barber so I can get a haircut/beard?

Triss looks glandular. :p

Use this to find barbers. http://witcher3map.com/v/#3/62.19/-1.14

Well congratulations! You got yourself caught!
I thought Letho said that initially Yen didn't have her memory back and it something that she regained later.

The sorceresses seem to know each other's wherebouts when Witcher 3 starts but during the Rose of Remembrance scene in W2 Triss was emphatic about helping Geralt reunite with Yen if that was his desire. I see no reason to assume that she was lying then so I assume that some of this stuff happened in the six month gap between W2 and W3 when Geralt and Triss had some sort of falling out.

A lot of this stuff was explained during the final encounter with Letho at the end of W2, which I finished just before W3 launched.

When Geralt made a pact to join the Wild Hunt instead of them taking Yen(before any of the games but detailed in flashback of W2), Letho and his crew took her under their care when Geralt disappeared. She had no memories and acted like a raving lunatic for a little while, this also forced them to keep moving as she caused all sorts of random shit at every town.

Eventually they ended up in Nilfgaard and the Emperor took Yen under his care and gave Letho his mission to assassinate Foltest(in turn re-opening his Witcher school when complete). He left on that mission and never saw Yen again, whom stayed with Nilfgaard obviously through the events up to 3. Triss mentioned something about being unable to locate her with magic for whatever reason too in W2, could have been lying but seemed doubtful.

Time of Contempt and Baptism of Fire also have official english translations. The last two books in the initial set are coming in 2016 and 2017. Supposedly the fan translations for those two books are quite good as well.
Fan translations are great. When I started reading the books, only the last wish and blood of elves had official translations. Read the other five books from fan translations and if I didn't know I wouldn't have known the difference.

Edit:Last Wish and Sword of Destiny are short story compilations before the 5 Ciri-centric books. Think Sword of Destiny came out first but The Last Wish should be read first then Destiny. Then Blood of Elves-Times of Contempt-Baptism of Fire-Tower of Swallow-Lady of the Lake.

Yup, just recently did some rough math about the map sizes with the waypoint distance units.

White Orchard has it's content in a 800 x 1000 unit area, while Velen & Novigrad has its in 4000 x 3400 area.

So, the first proper map you explore is 17 times as big as White Orchard

Yen's face changed a lot from her original concept art and model.

Pretty sure the face is the same but the makeup application is different. She's got more eye shadow/ liner and a different shade of lipstick. Her hair is modeled differently, though.

Are you locked in to staying with Triss if
you end up with her staying and then having sex with her ? I think I probably am but was just curious

Sorry for misinformation, I just tested and that post is bollocks.

If you say "Stay with me" all choices lead to sex. None of the other choices matter.
Not true. That didn't happen in my game. I said stay with me and then told her to go. No sex happened. I'm fairly certain that what determines if you have sex with her is if you listened to Dijkstra's story or not. I listened to the story, so no sex. If you told him to shut the hell up, sex. Someone should double check that though.

I tried all three options after saying stay with me and if you don't tell her that you love her she leaves and there's no lighthouse sex scene.

Edit: ^^
I guess there's also the Dijkstra thing but I'm assuming that must be a bug and might accidentily lock you in a Triss romance because I don't see why it would actually have that affect by design.

I knew that Yen will invite her to Kaer Morhen later in the game and I want to confirm this too.
Anyone? ;_;

Not much I can do to change it at this point but I'd still like to know the answer to this as well.

Man, I really find all these romance questions weird. Like, if you want to end up with one person then logically the best way to do that is to NOT sleep with other people. I don't understand the mindset of people that want to bone everything in sight but still want to end up with one person.

No, if you don't say you love her, then you can be with Yen, even if you had
sex with Triss

Ah I guess I'm locked in then, not that I mind as I really like Triss.

Yes. So unless you want a shit romance ending
don't get it on with Yen

I was reading that apparently you can
get it on with Yen but turn her down again later on after some kind of battle ? That lets you stay with Triss but also lets you do a quest associated with Yen.

Something like that supposedly.

Here, you can get her to stay
If, instead, he wants to leave the door open to love (but doesn't want to fully commit), he must make the following dialogue choices:

To Sigimund (before the Witch Hunter attack):
"What the hell're you talking about"

To Triss (As she's about to board the ship):
"Stay with me"
"Let's try again."

Chastise Sigimund instead of listening to his story.
Triss will be revealed to have stayed on the docks, interrupting the tale.

????
the sex scene doesn't happen until after you tell her that you love her and everything else.

Are we seriously saying there's a way to get it and not be locked in?

Yes

This post is correct, just did it both ways.

It's my second playthrough so I'm planning everything in advance

haha right?

Regardless I'll go for a Yen route near the point where the first expansion is supposed to hit. Second expansion is miles away so I'll probably just reload my triss end game and do that one with that Geralt.

Ok so based on this information I assume it's either a bug, or there's some kind of vague point system that's affected by way earlier dialogue choices with her.

I tried every possible choice pattern in the Now or Never ending, and whatever they were if I chose "stay with me" she always changed her mind in the end. Even if I told her to go after that.

Every interaction with Triss before that I was in favor of her, so I probably had too many points for her to leave if I said "stay with me".

Did you say no to Dijkstra after Triss leaving ??

And also I found something about Kaer Morhen in Reddit (first comment).
I just need someone to confirm it for me. ;_;

It's what worked for us in the previous games! No one told us we were supposed to be a one sorceress witcher!

Earlier in this thread I recall someone mentioning a dude who buys trophies at full price. Anyone know if such a merchant exists and where?

There is an alchemist inside the church directly north of Oxenfurt Gate outside Novigrad. I believe he pays full or close to full price for them.

Test it and see for yourself. Say "stay with me" and then "go." First, tell Dijkstra to tell his story. You should see a sex scene. Then try telling Dijkstra to shut up when he offers to tell his sad story. You should not see a sex scene.

Yen's face changed a lot from her original concept art and model.

VObPvMh.jpg

The original is the one I prefer only because it more closely matches her original description.

She has a nose that is "slightly too long," lips a "touch too narrow," "irregular brows," and hair in "curling disarray," but is still extremely confident, domineering, and sexy.

Yennifer's new model looks really attractive, but doesn't really play into her history as easily. It's the movie adaptation route where all the romantic characters are suddenly 8000 times more attractive than they were when they were described in the books.

The left also looks way more realistic than the uncanny valley on the right. Not sure what happened there.

Yes like I said I tested it, extensively. It doesn't work like that for me so I assume there are other variables than that conversation alone. Or it's a bug.

Can't really say with this game, too many vague things that effect stuff.

EDIT: This shit bothers me now, I'm going to redo the whole quest with different choices and see how it works. And the entire questline if necessary.
