Do oils have a time limit or something? How are you meant to know if they're working? W2 told you the duration of an oil when you selected it in the inventory and it also had a timer on screen that told you how long the oils you were using would last.

My jaw dropped to the floor once I made it to
. I thought White Orchard was large enough, and it took me around 12 hours to clear that. I purchased W3 through GOG pre-release and yesterday morning was the first time I've had to actually sit down and play. Well, that's about all I did yesterday. This game is special, and Gwent is amazing. I'm hoping there's a lot more Gwent players in the area I'm currently in because daddy wants some new cards!

They have charges, I'm pretty sure. Like you apply it, and it has 20 charges I think, and you use one everytime you hit.
So I'm on the quest Cave of Dreams and when I got there the game started freezing every couple of seconds. Has this happened to anyone else? I loaded up an earlier save and the game ran fine, so I'm pretty sure it's not my download / console.

Thank god for enlarged text. It isn't as bad as some people say, but there are some stuff on screen that is severely headache inducing to try and read. Like books, and really anything in the inventory screen.
Improved camera smoothness is good too. It is weird, there is a zone on the analog that makes the camera stutter while spinning around slowly.

Lemme just put it this way, Yennifer has always been a bitch to Geralt while Triss has secretly and not so secretly been in love with him.
Basically Geralt is the lovable loner with a crush on the head cheerleader but doesn't realize the girl he really would be happy with is right under his nose.
Sounds like the plot of every teeny bopper love movie ever. You know what to do...

Asked a few pages ago but got no answer, and got nothing on Google. Anyone else got a glitched noticeboard in Downwarren? The icon is yellow but there are no notices on there. Hoping its a glitch with the icon, rather than the board itself. I fear its the board though, as there's nothing in there where the other boards normally have 4 or so little non-quest-related notes notes

Prepare to have your jaw dropped many, many more times. Mine is left on the floor, got too tiring picking it up. Skellige did that to me.
Also frankly, while Yen is HOT, Triss is no slouch. She looks curvier and dat red hair. Also she just genuinely seems to enjoy being around Geralt while Yen always seems to be put off by him.

Does the romance choice affect the actual main story or ending of the game? Like if you choose one or the other, does it impact how the game actually plays out or just who you want to bone and that's it.
Ending cutscene only I think
And Triss is ready to jump to bed with her best friend's boyfriend at the first opportunity

Ah okay, I haven't fully started the game yet (just tested how it ran on my computer), but was thinking ahead. I liked Triss in the previous game and don't know much about Yen yet.

Geralt being the lovable loaner that might be more smothered by Triss than Yen.
Yen and Geralt also seem to be a good balance to compliment each others personality's whilst being able to keep thee distances.
They make a good odd couple.

You've swayed me to go with Triss. Although when you first meet Triss I kinda said I'm with Yennefer now or something. Am I stuck with Yen now or whenever this other side quest with Triss pops up can I get back in with her? Haha

This is a really shit summary of the history. Yes, Yen is a sarcastic, strong willed, biting and moody lady. Sometimes she's downright cruel. She'll do almost anything to get what she wants. It's not like Triss is some beacon of virtue. Yeah, sleeping with your best friend's significant other when he developed amnesia. And not telling him about Yen and trying to help him find her. She's freaking great. Oh and she, like every other sorceress in the game, manipulates Geralt to her ends. Oh boyyyy. It's not nearly as clear a decision as you made it out to be.

Supposedly she would've told him... mooost of that? While they were on their romantic cruise from the La Valette castle to Flotsam? She offers to Geralt that they can leave and go find Yen right now while they're in Flotsam and Geralt refuses.

Ok, so on PS4, pressing touchpad brings up the menu, and noticed swiping up or down brings up the map straight away (which is what I use since I found that out, swipe up, left trigger, to go to inventory, feels faster than, press, left stick, X),
So anyway, any other shortcuts like that?
If not, I noticed a CDPR guy reads this thread, so suggestions:
Swipe left -> inventory
Swipe right -> Quests
Can we get this for next patch?

Honestly I think the developers are kind of to blame for most of the confusion here, as far as I know CDPR wasn't allowed to use Yen in the Witcher 1? So they went with Triss in the Witcher 2 as well.
But if you think about the whole romance problem in the Witcher 3, the actions in the Witcher 2 make no sense.
There are NPCs everywhere that know of Geralt and Yen and talk about it constantly and in the Witcher 2 barely anyone mentions her. The fuck is Dandellion doing, shouldn't have he of all people at least mentioned her, since I assume that he is the composer of that Priscilla song.
It kind of makes either Triss look very shity in the Witcher 2 or everyone is a dumbass in the Witcher 2. Pick your poison.

I don't think Triss could've done much wrong in Witcher 2. Triss tells him about Yen basically as soon as the two of you have time together, and despite the fact that Geralt is up to his neck in shit with the regicides, offers to help reunite them. Any fault of hers, I think, was long before that. Witcher 1 or the time between. I suspect that the reason nobody told Geralt about Yen during that period though, is, as you said, largely plot driven. Why introduce a character that is supposed to have some sort of strong hold over Geralt's life, yet has literally no bearing on the story? And the reason Geralt wasn't told between the two games? Because then the player wouldn't have been present to have it explained to them. It's unfortunate but I do think this is... the necessities of the narrative painting Triss in an otherwise undeservedly unflattering light.

Now a shortcut to Quests would be lovely too, or someway to cycle to through quests without going into the menu.
