Apparently I am clueless about geography and how it affects the world...it still kind of bothers me because I'm just not used to it, but still at least it makes sense.

So why the fuck is the sun rising at 3 A.M? Pretty much the only thing that bothers me about this game.

It's cool, a lot of people unless they've been to a country in the north will not know this happens. Try visiting Iceland or Finland and stuff, you'll experience sun rises and sun sets like in the witcher. :p

Countries that are in the north in Europe even on Earth the sun rises between 3-4 AM and can set 9-10 PM.

The part of the world in Witcher you're in now is in the North and it's all based on various European folklore particularly slavic so it's makes sense!

Has anyone been able to acquire any of the following:

- Witch Hunter Armor

If so, where did you find them?

I have found this one.
It's medium armor and is rewarded from doing quests to armorers in Bloody Barons fortress. I rolled back as I didn't get XP so screenshot of stats available, but it had nice stats. Requires level 26

Oh man, the fields of Novigrad is one of my favourite places in any video game. So tranquil and beautiful, nothing like it.

Has anyone been able to acquire any of the following:

- Redanian Halberdier Armor
- Nilfgaardian Armor
- Witch Hunter Armor

If so, where did you find them?

I got the Nilfgaardian Armour from one of the question marks to the far west of Velen, it was a treasure hunt quest with the chest in the ocean

I had a hilarious glitch earlier when doing one of the Velen horse races. In the final race, I think it was Black Bogdan (?) somehow died as the race started, allowing me to storm to victory.

I found the Nilfgaardian Armor at the same location where I found the Griffin steel sword blueprint (the small tower with the draw bridge you have to bring down, can't remember the locations name), it was just the chest piece though, not the whole armor set.

Yep, the same spot as me.

I'm pretty pissed off the game glitched and didn't give me the Ursine Silver sword diagram so I can't make any of the best ursine swords because they all start with the basic one..WTF..

he doesn't see her without it, but it's kind of like Geralt's tracking detective work. He notices how she moves, how she looks at things, how she looks at him and he thinks that under the glamour, he sees a hunchback. And of course, what the Wish means is up to debate anyways.
Yeah your right
decided to just go back to that book and it just hits him at the end when they were arguing, something about her eyes gave it away to him, and he was horrified that she might read his mind and find out he knows, so he "killed" the knowledge inside him, not sure how that works lol.

You don't need to go to Iceland or Finland, just southern parts of Sweden is enough to notice it, hell Gothenburg the sun rises at 4am and sets at 10pm in June.

It's funny cause whenever I travel somewhere warm for vacation, it always bothers me how soon it gets dark, it's almost depressing when you have great weather but it can get dark at like six or seven in the evening.

Oh dude.
If you press down on the touch pad and kind of hold it for a second it goes straight to the inventory!

Thanks, got that tip earlier:) now I only need shortcut to quests.

My friend sent me one of the CG trailers that came out awhile back (Killing Monsters) and it really hit me just how well they did with the decision making in this game. Still excellent:

Still really enjoying the game after who knows how much time now. Just made it through this section, beautiful song..

Did anyone notice Lambert speaking about this and reciting the 'killing monsters' bit?

I got the Redanian Halberdier armor in a bandit camp in Velen. I think it was in the southern part of the map on the eastern side. It was in a chest but was probably a random drop.

This is a really shit summary of the history. Yes, Yen is a sarcastic, strong willed, biting and moody lady. Sometimes she's downright cruel. She'll do almost anything to get what she wants. It's not like Triss is some beacon of virtue. Yeah, sleeping with your best friend's significant other when he developed amnesia. And not telling him about Yen and trying to help him find her. She's freaking great. Oh and she, like every other sorceress in the game, manipulates Geralt to her ends. Oh boyyyy. It's not nearly as clear a decision as you made it out to be.

Yen could have found Geralt, made herself known through a letter, or hell she should have teleported to him when she found out he was alive. She knew about him and Triss and flat doesn't care.

The fact is, Yen only truly cares about Yen and her desire to be a mother. Hence her attachment to Ciri and her moronic quest to find a "cure" that has done nothing but bring Geralt misery.

Lol alright, whatever. You clearly have your interpretation of the characters. I don't agree with any of it, so I'm just going to move on.

Well.. my quest Mysterious Tracks is busted.

When i find that i need to lure the Chort, it doesn't give me the recipe for the lure.

I first interacted with the dung since it was red, it said it was a fiend and that it was dry. I thought maybe if i went back and not interact with it it would let me identify it since i have to get some to mix. But nope. Both ways the dung is useless... i can't interact or do anything, and the quest option in alchemy is not there.
What a bust. ~_~

Game was getting too easy on Broken Bones, turned it back up to Death March. Think I'll stick with it now that I've got the hang of things.

I disagree. I feel that Clean Shaven Geralt is the best.

Guess I'm too used to playing The Witcher 2 :)
Depends on the armor I'm using, normally I role the same hair/beard style as the start of the game but when I got the original Feline Gear I shaved and got short hair and it was easily my favorite look in the game.

I do think the long hair beard style looks better when your with
Ciri
, makes you look more like a father figure and enhances the sad scenes imo

I'm about to do the same. I started on Story and Sword, switched it up to BB around level 10. Now at 17 things start feeling easy again.

should be a book only thread and a non-book thread, like with GoT :)

But unlike GoT, the games follow the books. They don't reinterpret them. So it's nothing in the books is really a spoiler.

Though I have to say my order of doing things was pretty perfect.

I read none of the books when I played Witcher 1. Geralt had amnesia, and I didn't know shit.

I started reading some of the books during Witcher 2. Geralt was having some of his memory return, and I was learning as he did!

Finished the books during the first bit of Witcher 3. Geralt now knows all, and so do I!

TBH, I'm on Broken Bones and it's wayyyyy too easy now. I really regret not starting on Death March.

I started game on Death March and pretty much after WO game has been easy. Only gotten easier as I have gained levels. Sure I over level a lot of content in my quest log, but even monsters at my own level aren't threat anymore. I expect greater challenge tbh.

Almost level 25, if wondering.

I did the same thing, didn't read the books til I finished Witcher 2, which ended with Geralt saying he fully recovered his memory. So I was on point with how Geralt felt about the whole triss/Yen ordeal.

Well.. i guess some how i had already made some or bought some. Its under quest items. Just in case someone runs into this same issue.

You should probably keep reading the books before you dismiss other people like that.
Cool, thanks.

I still hope they bring back the perma-death in a patch. Now that would be something else.

I found mid-high level Witch Hunter armour in the abandoned distillery on Skellige. Nilfgaardian I found somewhere around Velen.

I'm at a lighthouse for the last plan of the Grifffin set, but the bridge leading to it is not down. What should I do? Can't seem to be a lever close.

It would be something for sure, but I think it would help a lot if AI was more aggressive on Death March. Now it's way too passive and if you have good handle on dodge stepping you can do circles around enemies, while poking them to death strike at the time. Something like large packs of wolves and drowners are only huge threat that I still encounter because of leap attacks that stagger Geralt, and they can leap through each other because no collision mapping.

Are you doing the first set before the upgrades? If so, jump.

No really. Jump off the side. There's an tunnel underwater right next to the place of power.

Has anyone run into a glitch where after clearing out an abandoned site it doesn't trigger the liberating cut-scene? This has happened to me in the White Orchard starting area. Is there a fix or a way I can trigger it? Thanks

Looks like I might've finally hit the xp glitch, got none from the master armorer quest nor from helping Zoltan find his Pokemon cards or whatever.

Unless both of those quest just don't give xp maybe?

I wonder if they could tweak that at all without it being too much. I guess not probably. Personally the only thing that really manages to cause me trouble anymore (oddly enough) are mobs of those stupid enemies that explode.

Yeah, i went to the
Place of Power near the water below, and a cave suddenly showed up on my minimap.
Guess I posted my question too quickly. :p
