The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt |OT2| Wanted to find Ciri, but everything Gwent wrong

Skellige might be my favorite location in a game in ages, it's so gorgeous and such a dramatically different feeling from Velen. 75 hours played, story beaten, and I feel like I've not really spent any real time exploring the area. It's like Skyrim all over again, but better.

Early on HP regen is awesome skill to have as it saves you money and consumables, but I have been considering dropping it now that HP is 5+k making 10HP / ~5 seconds rather lol worthy. Also money and food for days in pockets so even that makes it even less worth for me at this point. Focus is very nice general skill because adrenaline increases sword and sign damage, and with all increased adrenaline generation you get nice amount of damage output early into combat.

In combat I use a lot dodge step with some Quen and Aard thrown in so I personally don't get much from skills that prevent adrenaline loses from being hit. I just aim for not getting hit :b

Also those red mutagens... it was like pulling teeth to get them. Blue and green drops like nobodies business, but reds? ffs...

Drowners in Skellige.

RED MUTAGENS.. Everywhere

It would be pretty awesome if they added in Enhanced, Superior, Mastercrafted etc. variants of the starting armor in the expansion. Make it the Wolf school set and add some wolf fur on their it'd be amazing.
I want Eskel's jacket and Vesemir's gauntlets. One can never have enough silver spikes. Call it the Hedgehog School set.

Which "legendary" armor do you recommend to a guy who play a mix of Fast Attacks/Quen-Igni-Axii ? I think it will be between Cat and Griffin but I can't choose :(

how does the alternative mode for the shield sign works? I got it but have no idea what it does or how it does it

I guess that you hold Q (or what sign button is on pad) down to channel and maintain it. Quen creates bubble around you and as enemies hit it you get HP back.

I would go for Cat (light) stuff. I'm personally doing light attack play with Quen, Axii and Aard mixed in, and I'm using Feline set. Dropping 'em bodies.

I think Focus only adds sign intensity. I know the wording is weird, but adrenaline points give the damage bonus without Focus. So imho focus is only really worth it for players that emphasize igni.

Tutorial for adrenaline points say that they are resource for some special attacks. It doesn't say that adrenaline points increase melee attack damage. Then tooltip for Focus say that adrenaline points increase melee damage and sign intensity. This makes me think that adrenaline doesn't passively increase melee damage, but requires Focus for it to do so.

I may be wrong here tho, I wonder if there is easy way to test this.

Thanks for your answer :) I forgot to precise I'm playing in Death March.

Death March is only way ;)

The tooltip text for Battle Trance (fifth column in the combat tree) reads: "Blows landed during combat generate Adrenaline Points. Each Adrenaline Point increases weapon damage by 10%."

I also tested it and found it to be the case as far as I could tell.

Speaking of which, is there much stuff that's level 35+? I know there's one contract with something about Oxenfurt forest. I have no idea how CDPR expected people to hit cap unless there's bunch of stuff I've been missing.

Nope. I honestly don't understand how they expect people to lvl up past the high 30's. I've done every side quest in the game except for Gwent and am only lvl 37. However, I have several diagrams of crafting materials which are lvl 40+, I think the highest diagram I have right now is a lvl 47 sword. How could I ever hope to achieve such a level?

It's weird how Geralt's hair is constantly moving, like there is a strong wind going on, even inside building... I mean, it's ok when you're outside(even the trees are affected), but inside?

I'm about 10 levels ahead of the main quest, if anyone knows how to reliably catch that XP bug, hit me up with the info.

:p

Bear armor is GOAT - I ain't even mad about the Stamina nerf.

I expected a bit more from the quest "A Deadly Plot" does anyone know if it continues later?
Seems like all I did was get Thaler and then the mission just ended

I just did this too and decided to look it up- looks like the next quest picks up in Act 3, so that's it for now.

My god don't even bother playing Gwent against that innkeep at Seven Cats, I thought playing against her will net you a cool card if you win but nope she just gives you that melee weather card. It's crazy cause her deck is insane.

Though you can buy some other decent cards from her.

Also actually, if you play against them multiple times and win, do you get a new card each time you win or the first time you win? I've actually never tried to play someone again after I beat them.

And this is why you always have respec potion in your inventory kids!

I don't know how I missed all that info, but I need do respec now to fit better my current tactics and skills I use. Thanks for heads up!

I too have come across the bookstore and the owner is never there. It's to the right of the armor smith. I've tried mediating to visit the shop at different times of the day, but the damn guy never appears. I have an assload of books as well and this guy both sells and buy your books close to full price.

If you're playing the PS4 version, you can't drop the books because the loot bag will eventually disappear despite an Kotaku article stating otherwise.

Yeah, from my experience that's completely random. Sometimes he's there, sometimes he's not, sometimes he's there and you can't even talk to him. I just mediate at random hours, hoping he will sell my books. It's really frustrating.

Damn the writing in this game is quite simply amazing. I really dont want this game to end. Still, this game isn't really open world in the Skyrim sense. It's more like Fable.

Just finished my second fan art painting featuring Triss. Here's both of them.
Guess I have to go back playing the game now, unless I'll take on Ciri next, lol.

Holy fuck! Please paint Ciri. These are absolutely stunning.

Will you be selling prints?

Roach has to be one of the worst videogame horses. I wouldntbl be suprised if most people just run to objectives instead of bothering with him

I know that with sidequests some are tied to certain main story quests so they could be missed if you get too far in the story. My question is in Velen what sidequests should I make sure to do early so I don't miss them?

I only use Roach when I know I'm travelling a long distance across the map, sticking to roads. He auto follows the roads OK that's about it lol.

I just did this too and decided to look it up- looks like the next quest picks up in Act 3, so that's it for now.

Good to know, thanks!

How do I get to the tree ? I have found a
village with a closed door to a dungeon wich seems to leed to the tree.

Where do I find the
key
?

Do you guys hold a certain amounts of materials before starting to sell the excess? Like over 30 or 40?

Friendly warning- have you done "Redania's Most Wanted" yet? Because there is an objective that you can't completed if you do that
Triss
sidequest first.

As someone that's about to start doing
Triss
quests can you give me the name of that
Triss
side quest? You can spoiler tag it.

Guys, I need help here. I finished off
Morkvarg
during the
In Wolf's Clothing
mission, but he
keeps coming back
?! The marker saying that I should kill em keeps coming back. Is this a glitch or what?

It's apparently
very late game area
. If you want to
you can climb up and over by using rocks at left side of door and then going to right, basically over the door. You get to small hill and from there you can explore tree area. Getting out is more tricky, but doable. I went there, got ? and came out.

Wish I could upgrade my warriors leather jacket again. I really don't like these other chest pieces, they make him look like he has a gut. I'm level 13 though so the stats are just not good enough.
