The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt |OT2| Wanted to find Ciri, but everything Gwent wrong

Just found out you can't use oil while in combat.

Seriously CDPR? Potion is ok but not oil??
I guess limiting oils is supposed to be about forcing you to prepare more ahead of battle? Theoretically, it's easy to chug down a bottle of potions, but trying to dip a weapon in oil and coat it wouldn't be quite as doable.
Do you eventually get good looking light armor? Everything in that class seems to look like ass.
As a user of it, I think Enhanced Cat Armor looks great, but then seems to go downhill.

one thing Im not into it, and there arent many, is that there doesnt seem to be rhyme or reason to the level range of the zones. you will get a lvl 7 quest in the same zone as a lvl 20+ quest, not a big fan of that. Yes I like my order, im sorry. Still, just a nitpick, im still doing the gray quests lol

just did a pass on the whole map of velen getting all the signboards to see if there was any low lvl quests I missed, still some green ones and I have a lot of red ones now at lvl 17, so thats cool

Im trying my hardest to always do the lowest lvl quest in my log at a time. except I left behind a lvl 11 quest which is now gray because its in skellige. in fact I have a few quests for skellige now but I havent been there because I wanted to clear velen first, which is clearly now going to happen.

again, thats me chasing that "order"

Also I really need to get the second gryphon set (or the first upgrade, however you want to put it), what was that site that showed where all the sets were again?

Sure, it makes sense in reality, but it's just bad design imo. Especially when the game forces you to fight enemies in the story mission and you can't really prepare because the game don't give you the time to do so.
Also it doesn't help that you have no idea what/when you are going to fight.

Usually also go from lowest level to highest in my questlog (please CDPR, make a way to easily cycle through your quests without going into the menu), and I've on at least one occasion had to run through areas with level 20 mobs (in Velen), when trying to get to a level 11 quest.

Doesn't help that it isn't clear at first what level mobs are, so I've managed to dismount in the middle of packs of level 21 mobs, desperately mashing buttons to get the hell out. Makes for a pretty high adrenaline situations, specially if you haven't saved in a while. Maybe not the best game design though.

Yen could have found Geralt, made herself known through a letter, or hell she should have teleported to him when she found out he was alive. She knew about him and Triss and flat doesn't care.

The fact is, Yen only truly cares about Yen and her desire to be a mother. Hence her attachment to Ciri and her moronic quest to find a "cure" that has done nothing but bring Geralt misery.
And that's why (backstory/book spoilers)
Yen died while trying to bring Geralt back to life. Yeah, right.

Velen question regarding a fight early on (sidequest)

I have my first encounter with werewolf (I'm level 4). No matter what I do he keeps regenerating his health. I applied oil and igni as well. What's the way to fight him? Should I come back after I'm higher level?

There's a lot of discussion going on in the Witcher community about POST-GAME
placing back Triss, Yen, Ciri, Eskel, Lambert etc. into the game after the story is finished.

Seems like many find it deperessive that the main characters are gone after the story is finished and many has difficulty conitnuing playing post-game.

There's a bomb that stops him from regening health.

There'll be alot of discussion in this thread about your post in a minute if you don't spoiler it.

There should be a bomb mentioned in the Beastiary put you might not have it yet, but other than that
I don't think Werewolves regen right away, they only start to regen when the get low on health, so when it starts to get low, use Quen sign, and go in and mash it to death. Not sure which sidequests you're on though, so it very well could be that you're too low level as well (the only Werewolf I remember was at higher level)

I'm sure it's been brought up a hundred times already, these OTs move too fast, but why do they have a different actor voicing Dandelion for those loading segments? Before that Ciri flashback, I presumed they had changed it for the sake of having Dandelion that could actually sing. :p

Those segments are either Vesemir or old Dandelion citing his works. I am not sure which though, sounds more like Vesemir to me.

Hmm, suddenly feel rusty on my Witcher history. Anyone here with good knowledge on some background stuff? Yennefer and Geralt were together for many years, yes? They raised Ciri together, right? When did Geralt first meet Triss? I've only played Witcher 2 previously, and Geralt seem to have quite a strange relationship to both of them. I know all about the amnesia though.

It's supposed to be an old Dandellion telling someone this story.

It's dandellion, when he is mentioned in flashbacks he refers to himself as "me" and "I".

right now theory is that it's Dandelion in the future (aka as an older man) retelling the story of Geralt/Ciri to some audience.

the voice is definitely older Dandelion. He refers to himself as "me" in some of them.

It'd be nice, but unless you can
interact with them outside of the 2-3 same lines of dialogue they might have
what's the point.

The guy who does the VO for the comic style loading screen stuff is so hilariously bad, it's a shame they couldn't get anyone better for such a prominent role.

Thanks a fucking bunch. I knew I should have stayed away from this thread. Not even the first time this has happened; I should just stay the fuck away from OTs until I've actually finished the games in question.

I give up on figuring out if I have the xp bug or not, or if there even is a xp bug or how it works (I know the CDPR mentioned the bug). I didnt get xp from a couple of lower lvl quests (not gray ones) but I did just get xp from a lower level contract so fucking I dunno man...

fuck it and keep playing? fuck it and keep playing...

As far as I understand, the loading segments are a much older Dandelion telling the tale after the events of the game have already happened.

Edit: I really should reload the page after I read it and want to reply :p

Wut? Were there a bug or didn't the spoiler thing pop up?

So to those that finished missions/side missions in Novigrad you also find it silly that
the one lady twin you give classes to at first seemed like she was into you and then disappears
haha Almost seemed like it might've been another romantic option at one point.

Wut? Were there a bug or didn't the spoiler thing pop up?

No but you did a terrible job at hinting at what the spoiler might be. People might click it not knowing it's an end-game spoiler of sorts.

He read the post before you spoilertagged it, when he pressed quote, you'd edited the post so it came with spoilertags.

when you quote, it takes the latest version (edited in this case), from the server and quotes it

Also this. Though, I don't tend to click spoilers that don't define what they're spoilering as a precaution.

It's a little weird that the master sword quest reward is scaled to your level but the master armorer one gives you level 27 armor

When I try to play it tells me "An update for this game or app needs your attention. Go to your games and apps to see what it needs". But it looks like it's installed. The game says "Ready to Start" under the game.

Am on XB1

Am I fucked?

Same here, although I really wish people would at least put some effort into declaring what part of the game they might be spoiling. Half these posts I wouldn't click on even if I'd finished the main story they're so goddamn vague.

I totally agree, it feels very isolated and a little dead. Dead's a bit of a strong word but that's the closest to describing it.

I'd just like
Zoltan or Dandelion to stick around for conversations or a game of Gwent.
, even though I didn't end up with
Triss or Yennefer (stupid threesome), I'd like a little more closure as to why Yen just fucks off and the last time you see her in the game is on the snowy mountain.

(Your spoilers are fine btw, not sure what that guy is on about)

I'm convinced RDR horse controls/handling will never be beaten. I was hoping this would be the game to do it, but nope.
