The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt |OT2| Wanted to find Ciri, but everything Gwent wrong

Since I've stopped progressing the story due to the XP bug, I finally decided to get into Gwent. Gave up in it when I first started playing after losing like three times, but I decided to buy all the cards I could find and started playing the easiest guys first, and ended up blowing through all the first quests, beating everyone in Velen and Novigrad.

It's a really fun little game. The way you can strategize over the three rounds and turn the tables with some of the special cards is awesome. I'm pretty good now with my Northern Realms deck, tearing through fools with ease.

What a view....

I can't play Gwent with Zoltan 'cause he's currently stuck residing between the sign and the door of the Rosemary and Thyme.

During "The Play’s The Thing" quest.
I decided to agree with Zoltan and ask Dudu to change into Ciri so Geralt could see how she looks like now.
I immediately regretted my decision once I saw how Geralt reacted to that...

Instant Cast Signs on DS40

Using Inputmapper, here's a very easy to follow guide on setting up the program with a set of simple macros to allow for instant casting on a DS4. Not tried it using a 360 pad, but I'm sure it can be done with the same program.

Scroll down the first post past the Ds4windows guide to see the Inputmapper set up. Any questions feel free to ask.

How'd you get that SC/5 keyboard logo to show up for the Macro? And what is it there for?

Edit: Figured out how to get it to show up

So, I been taking the game at my pace enjoying the scenery, and I decided "let me travel to Novigrad to see it" ...first off, there is a camp that some soldier asked me for some passes, Whats the point of that? as I went to Novigrad Swiming and No one asked me about dam papers.

But, Novigrad OMG, I tought this game was huge before this, Novigrad is just insanely big, I think im taping out.

my reaction when I unlocked the map markers for all the points of interest in skellige after finishing all of them in velen

uh-oh. Just had my first occurrence of a green quest not giving exp: the level 12 quest "Blood Ties", completed when level 16.

Looking forward to the next patch more than ever now.

What difficulty? I didn't receive XP for Blood Ties but I checked a Youtube vid and it only gives 25 XP. However it's possible that was no normal and it doesn't give XP on higher difficulties (I'm on Death March).

Yeah same here, I felt bad for doing that.

Another note on the quest,
I totally didn't realize that you actually get the lines in your inventory to rehearse until after the play, I just made shit up as I went. Funnily enough though, no one really commented on that, they just said I did great.

Crap. Had a feeling that might have been the case halfway through the
play. I was just guessing and had the sense that I was screwing something up.

Loving this game so far. Really, the only problem with The Witcher in general is all those damn elves. Other than that it's awesome.

Currently polling second in Australia's federal election (first in the Gold Coast), this feral may one day be your Bogan King.

Everybody does this and then has a "oh fuck" moment. I don't know if it has as much content as Velen + Novigrad, but it has an absurd amount of content as is and really didn't need to be in the game for it to already feel dense and content rich.

I also think most people will make the mistake of going through the Novigrad + Velen stories and leaving Skellige until later, aiming to clean up as much of the former before the latter, when Skellige actually has a lot of level 15 - 20 quests more than appropriate to get in early.

In terms of quest difficulty before they turn grey and stop netting XP, across Velen/Novigrad and Skellige I think the game has more middling level XP quests than you'll be able to capitalise on.

Did Cabaret and started Carnal Sins, did not expect this quest line to blow up this big. The doctor character seems really cool.

I asked this before but the thread moves so fast, Ill ask again

Fairly early game main story spoilers....

Is there any point to keeping the sword
you get from the first Wild Hunt guy?
Does it have any uses later in the game? Its frankly shit and I would prefer to dump it but dont want to find out later that I should have held on to it.

Thought I was making good progress on the games quests and POI markers in Velen. Took a quick peek into skeliege...aaaaand there's 500 more POIs to explore. Lord have mercy there is so much stuff in this game.

Also, Skeliege is probably my favorite area in the entire game. It's basically a mini skyrim.

Yep that's me. I was struggling to find content my level on Velen when I could've just gone to Skeliege for side quests.

That's pretty much what I did lol, but mostly due to the reason that it felt like the last Act and nearing the end of the game.

I got a question regarding "Eye for an Eye".
1.04 patch notes for consoles are stating:
- Fixed issue where
Roche
was not present at Hanged Man's tree during Eye for an Eye quest.

He isn't there in my playthrough and the nearby village
got occupied by Nilfgaardians, which I assume are the ones that attacked the village. No villager left there.

Will that quest fail for me?

I really hate gwent...mostly because I never really bothered looking for or acquiring the cards as I wasn't interested in it...so I definitely paid for it because my deck is weaksauce and couldn't beat the guys at the gala on the matter of life or death quest. I got mad and left, which failed the quest, of course :(

Regarding the POIs, I get people enjoy hunting down markers on a map but I really don't understand it.

The game should really have these turned off by default imo. They're great to stumble upon in the open as part of your natural exploration, but hunting them down to tick them off the map is incredibly mundane.

I did turn them off for this very reason but on the other hand it's same for picking the next sidequest you've taken and completing it.

well I like to plan my routes to quest objectives via POI's.
and it's worth doing them, they often have extras like witcher set schematics and are generally well designed. especially compared to other games I think the witcher 3 open world POI's are actually worthwhile.

the big exception being the tons of smuggler barrels in skellige, those simply should have been cut.

Just little niggles like incredibly long load times, NPCs standing in door ways, choppy framerate, the broken PS4 playtime stat. It builds up when it's continuously happening and just gets annoying.

I don't like the long loading times.

I just discovered i can look at my play time stats under chars today. So i want to go check it out. Is it broken for everyone? I was looking forward to see how much time i have spent on this game.

load times occasionally annoy me but the horse getting stuck on stuff constantly is what aggravates me the most

What's up with the incredible level inconsistency between enemies?

I fight some level 3 enemies and go south a bit.... only to find level 22 enemies. Then I go around them and find level 10 enemies.

Seriously, wtf?
Sometimes in the real world you will see a squirrel not far from where a bear is. Witcher 3 is life.

I don't think there's a bug. This is how it's completed:

Open the door with the key you found on the body of one of the bandits.
Well yeah, that was the bug.
None of the bandits in the area drop the key. I cleared that whole area out and spent ten minutes looking at every chest and lot bag around, no key. Haven't tried since the last patch, though, maybe it's fixed.

I think I'm gonna leave skellige for post game stuff honestly. Because jesus man Skellige has so much stuff, and the POI's are SO SPREAD OUT, and not only are they spread out there are so many in little scattered isles and in the middle of the ocean.

I'm at 70 hours in and I think I'm at the 66-75% marker for the game. Kinda just wanna see this through to the end and do the contracts and random non relevant quests later.
