Set a magic trap so it can be damaged inside it (otherwise you can't damage it afaik) and hit it while inside twice or three times, back off (as she'll get knocked out of the trap from your hits) and repeat.

At least that's what I did. She's definitely tough but I tried not to be too greedy.

Nothing, that quest is REALLY hard compared to everything else you done up till that point. I went back at lvl 16 and did it, lol.

Kaer Morhen.
Does anyone remember what level they were exactly at this point? Curious if I'm underleveled or overleveled right now.

Hey, so I stumbled upon a nice red mutagen farming area, if you wanna just get your greater red mutagen/s out of the way instead of slowly piecing em together fighting fiends and nekkar warriors etc.

Go to the town of Toderas, which is north east of Crookback Bog. Something happens there, so deal with it. Now leave, and come back. Kill whatever shows up, and now medidate every hour. One lvl 14 alghoul pops up every time you meditate, and it drops a random red along with the other colors. So just keep killing and resting until you get your fill of red mutagens!

Loved Bloodborne...but I think this might be surpassing it and definitely is creeping onto my favorite games of all time list. Still got a bit of the game left though I think, looking for

Witcher 2's bombs were pretty much the win button.
Didn't really ever use them in Witcher 3, though. I always ended up getting some splash damage which would fuck up my Quen.

Crap was reading a while ago Triss was mostly nonexistent later in game so focused on Yen as a backup, now seeing you can pick Triss but I've already rode the unicorn.. fuck lol. Backup it is o.o

No backup needed. Personal quest is where the choices are made.

I'm on Blood and Broken Bones difficulty. I thought the lessened exp was only for Death March? Obviously not sure, though.

That gif is the same result as what I get from Enhanced Grapeshot bombs, and I don't have any bomb skills.

I would love if CDPR released some statstics for the decisions people made. There's no way that 99.9999999999999% of people didn't end up having sex with Triss and Yen.

Spoilers regarding the ugly baby quest line

In kaer morhen when you are helping Yen set up the mega scope, I ened up pissing her off. This was so spot on especially since it comes after I told her I no longer loved her with the djinn stuff. The best part was when she gets angry at you for talking about Triss and she teleports you into the river

They can be extremely effective in W3 too. I've gotten through a couple Velen Witcher contracts with them that I otherwise was totally unable to do:

1)
The Grave Hag. Lost several times, before accidentally tossing a Northern Wind bomb. Froze the Hag, and my attack knocked it over and Geralt was able to do a 'press X to win' execution.

2)
The cockatrice near Crow's Perch. I was never able to beat the thing with potions/oils/swords, so I used the bomb that causes enemies to catch fire, and then followed up with the explosive gas bombs. The monster essentially burned to death and only required a few fast attacks to finish it off.

Skellige has more quests/content than Velen I think. Start going there at like level 15/16 and do Novigrad quests + Skellige quests together. Don't finish up Novigrad and then do Skellige because Skellige quests begin at like 15/16. From what I see it seems Skellige is designed go along with Novigrad quests but some people have taken Skellige as like an "endgame" where as it's more mid-game to endgame since there are quests beginning at 15/16!

That damn mission. I read in the Bestiary that theres a certain sword oil and bomb for Jenny that can be used along with the magic trap. I didnt have all the ingredients for either of them though, so will go back later.

So maybe check out the Bestiary in the menu, and look for Jenny of the woods for info on the oil and bomb.

Question about Triss romance
I told her I loved her and I tried to get her to stay but I'm pretty sure she left on the ship any way... I just got back to Kaer Morhen, doing the Brothers In Arms quests currently... Since I did the unicorn scene with Yen, does that mean Triss shows up for the "threesome"? I guess I'm just wondering if Triss is gone for good

You actually don't even need to upgrade Yrden. I used the base version of it. I would actually charge up Quen,
draw her in, then drop the Yrden trap and when she was in it, that's when you can take off the most damage. Rinse and repeat, but it is a challenging battle. I'm nearing 60 hours and this is still the most challenging fight I've encountered yet.

Key to this fight is to simply run away when the clones show up, because they drain your health and heal Jenny. After a few seconds they are gone and you can hit her 3 or 4 times when she´s inside the trap with the usual dodge mechanic. Killed her on my first try with this method when I was level 9. Oil & spectre potion also helped.

No, seriously, I keep taking boats for fast travel to Oxenfurt to sell stuff off, and my boats are tangled up now. Guess I gotta go line up my boat fleet, hell might make a bridge out of em.

Any list of side quests that are don't miss, or conversely quests you can skip because they amount to nothing interesting? I over leveled before getting to Skellige and I'm not sure which ones I should do even though I won't be getting xp for a number of them. One must do quest involves alchemy mastery, plus the two quests involving that guy's kids
