Yeah, Lambert is great, typical guy who is annoying as fuck when he opens his mouth but will be ready to jump in front of an enhanced grapeshot for you.

Exactly, and he's just so refreshingly honest about everything. And his impressions lol

This game must have the most voiced dialog I've ever seen.

So very true. And the quality overall is very good. Only sometimes do awful examples pop up, haha.

By the way, is there any way to cancel the effect of a potion? Gulping a Cat when going into a cave is nice, but I always have minutes left when I come up into the brightness again. Would be nice to just cancel it.

What difficulty should a first time Witcher player should choose? For comparison sake, I've beaten Bloodborne. Compared to it, how's this game difficulty?

Game has the weirdest bugs, died then came back and Geralt kept jumping by himself without me even doing anything. Reloading a save did nothing had to quit the game.

I died at the hands of a golem in that cave with Keira Metz. Load saved game, Keira simply refused to partake in the battle. She just stood there. And afterwards she told me how she was certain "we" would make it.

The Bear Gear enhanced gear quest (lvl 16) is a lower suggested lvl than the initial plan gathering (lvl 20), strange. Seems like a typo cause doing the enhanced I ran into lvl 26 enemies.

I haven't played Bloodborne but I've played Demon's and Dark Souls.. and for me this is easier. There are some difficulty spikes in places (mostly in side quests.. main quest so far is not hard at all), but I've been doing fine on Hard - Blood and Broken Bones!

Thinking of switching up to Death March. I think you can switch difficulty anytime in the game right? So start from either Death march or Blood I would say, then switch down if it's too much.

The White Honey potion does just that. I usually prefer using the torch instead of Cat, partially because it makes spelunking a bit more atmospheric.

It would make more sense to mark the gear level requirement in those quest descriptions. The Ursine gear first upgrade quest level does indeed sound like a bug/typo.

Especially considering that you run into those
gargoyles and a level 26 elementa
when hunting down the initial diagrams.

Thanks! And yeah, I've been doing that at times as well, flames sure are atmospheric. But this time I'm with Lambert heh, and he mentioned Cat in dialogue so ;)

Oooh you can switch down difficulty? Cool.

Btw, is there any sort of ng plus in here?

shit game

Lol. Nice screen.

Bought this the other day. I love it. The world is so full of life and movement and there is a sense that there are stories waiting to be explored and discovered around every corner.

Love the wind in the forests, the lonely landscapes, the sense of boundless discovery.

Stunning.

I think it depends if you are a completionist or not. if you plan to do all the side quests and content you should pick the hardest difficulty because you will be overleveld for most of the game.
the first few hours might be togh though.

I wasn't paying attention and just tracked the lower suggested level quest and nearly got dominated and had to retreat.

I love the look of the Ursine gear, the basic gear anyways.

I got all kinds of expensive shit I need to sell but every merchant I talk to is broke as fuck. I broke the blacksmith in Novigrad, left him with less than 200 coin, and I still have shit to sell. I have some unique weapons that fetch much higher amounts at blacksmiths, but can't be arsed to run all over the damn country selling shit. Good thing I am on PC and can use the mod to make all the merchants rich :D

Between Novigrad and Oxenfurt, I can sell crap to smiths and armorers for over 4000 coin. It looks like their wallets regenerate (lol) after some time.

Random crap gets dismantled or sold to pointless street corner merchants.

Huh, so you can parry drowners, just not the leaping attacks they do if there's even an inch of space between the drowner and Geralt

For sure, I was just complaining about this earlier. it makes sense now.

This sucks :( I'm waiting for it to continue playing as no quests are giving me XP anymore at this point.
I wish they released a hotfix instead of bundling it with other stuff, but w/e.

Glad I could finish the game and I'm LVL 35, but not sure maybe without the glitch I would be LVL 40 or smth. Hope they will release it in the coming days.

Got bored of fighting bandits/creatures and got bored of doing side quests. So, finally getting around to progressing the main story.

Keira > Triss/Yen. She just invited me over after going through that elven place. Hope I get to bang her.

So it's really hard to get money in this game. I finally, at level 8, saved up enough to craft a 250 dagger. I always sell stuff then have enough to buy one thing maybe, and if I need food then nothing else.

Quick quest question:
Where else do I need to go in Velen to look for clues about the Baron's wife?

I've been roaming around Midcopse and went to the pellar again but I'm sort of lost as to what I should be looking for. I don't even need a straight answer. A small clue will suffice.

Really? I'm level 8 as well and have about 1500 right now.

Keep doing story quests. She will pop up.

The one in Novigrad seems to always be broke. I'll check Oxenfurt, haven't been there in a while, but I got a ton of shit in my inventory from roflstomping POIs in Velen.

This is extremely amateurish and unworthy of them...

Well I must admit, CD Project shouldn't do the typical promise stuff, people even get more angry, they should say they will release a patch but not say when.
Saying it gets a release in the next couple of days but not specifying when is a bad move.

I assume you never crossed the deadline on anything you were working on?
I mean, I'm waiting for the patch too and I'm seriously bummed out by the delay, but to call developers "unworthy" because they are two days late with an update? Seriously.

I'm lvl 15 and in the middle of some quests in Novigrad. Can I go to Skellige Islands safely (no failed quests)?

I doubt it, but I'm not sure to be honest. I'm in the same boat. I keep meaning to leave but then people keep giving me quests.

I did this last night – level 15 and I went to Skellige for the change.

It's fine, nothing gets locked out. It's like a totally separate story arc. Nothing gets affected by going there - although quests there may influence quests on the mainland, I haven't played enough there to find out.

Also, turn off the minimap for MAXIMUM SKELLIGE. I've been playing 40+ hours with minimap on, tempted repeatedly to turn it off, and finally decided to take the plunge so that Skellige wouldn't be ruined for me with a map in the corner.

And sure enough, bar occasional pathfinding aggravations, The Witcher 3 is way better with the minimap off.

By the way, is there any way to cancel the effect of a potion? Gulping a Cat when going into a cave is nice, but I always have minutes left when I come up into the brightness again. Would be nice to just cancel it.

As others said, White Honey should be in your inventory. Take a swig.

Although as others said, too, the Torch is quicker to use and doesn't affect the entire way the game looks, so that may be a better option. I prefer the torch massively. It's really immersive exploring dungeons with a torch in hand.

What a game.

This is extremely amateurish and unworthy of them...

Going to assume you're not a native English speaker – those descriptions are way overboard for CDPR's actions here, haha

I have a quick question, I am currently at level 21, been doing mostly main story missions, I recently did the (first set of?) missions in Kaer Morhen, and lifted the curse on the ugliest man alive, and now I've been told that I've must
to gather my allies before I go to find Ciri
I've tried to avoid spoilers up to this point but this feels like a point of no return, I did heard that there were
3 different endings
and I know that in at least some of them
Ciri could die
.

Now, without going into spoiler heavy territory, how could I ensure I get the best ending? any side missions that I should be sure to clear before moving forward? assistance is appreciated

Well you have do certain decisions when you talk with Ciri, giving reasonable answers to show that Geralt is a good father and also trusts her.
Pretty hard to not to go into spoiler territory here.
There is one bad ending and 2 good endings.

Thanks, I might just go there so I have more people to play at Gwent. Until the xp bug is patched.

I said it's unworthy of them because they usually don't fail so hard at fixing a critical aspect of their game.

Come on; the XP bug should've been fixed like last friday ! With a hotfix !

It's gamebreaking, I can't make any progress because I know I won't be getting any EXP (I've tried and didn't get XP on a major main quest ...) and it's killing my hype and enjoyment of the game. I don't want to wait to play the damn game...

Are you on pc? You can add the xp yourself, but good luck finding a list of how much xp is given for each quest. I have grown tired of watching YouTube videos to see, I'm just going to guess and add a few thousand.

The endings are related
to how you give advices and help Ciri.

We shouldn't have to do this ... they should've released a hotfix FFS !

And you guys are forgiving them because it's CDPR !

If it had been Ubisoft you would be tearing them a new one ...

Quick question; the friendly witch asked me to sail out with her boat to other place then Velen. Im now lvl 8. Should I do her quest now or just goof around in Velen?

So just maaaaybe it's taking more time because it's not that simple? I'll rather wait a couple more days than get a "hotfix" that will fix one thing and break several others.

Depends on how OCD you are.

You can easily spend 60 hours in Velen, clearing all the sidequests and contracts.

Level 8 is a bit weak for Skellige.

I hope they also look into the pop in on the PC version, it got worse with the latest patch and I have an SSD and a beefy rig.
