Considering some of the completion stats I've seen for some games, actually there are quite a lot of people who don't want to see everything a game has to offer.

I really wonder how many will even complete the main story in Witcher 3.

Edit: I'm talking about this:

I think that's more indicative of the quality of game campaigns in general. :p

Is there another barber in Novigrad? I've only found the drunk one.

Also, do they introduce new haircuts later?
Yen told me that she liked my full beard. Some time later I went for a proper shave in the fishing village in front of Kaer Trolde. That dude had five options for hair IIRC.

A question for you guys that finished the quest for the Maid Bilberry guy.
Do you meet him again if you used the Axii sign on him in Novigrad? Unfortunately I didn't have the necessary level to use that option, so off with his head.

This... doesn't.... make .... sense ....

But ... you don't HAVE to do everything then ... just play the main quests ...

As I said, I'll probably feel differently again soon. But last week, when I had several hours a day to play TW3, I was utterly loving it and taking in everything I could.

This week, and for the next two weeks, however, I'll get at most one hour to play per day. In The Witcher 3 terms, that's a blink of an eye. Go to one place. Start a quest. Maybe get toe deep into it. Oh, woops! I've run out of playtime for today.

I'm just as well playing something else. The main quest also hugely loses its impact when you're stopping/starting so much like this. Not to mention that your actions and exploration in general can feel a little aimless when you know you'd have to be playing for weeks to make any significant progress.

But really I'm just playing devil's advocate – the game is phenomenal, up there on my GOAT list, and I'm sure Skellige will seduce me just like Velen did once I get past the first town and the main quest takes me there.

Think I found another bug. I picked up 2 pamphlets that look like quests (they are bigger than the small flavor texts) on the notice board in Oreton, missing soldiers and witcher wanted, but they don't activate a quest. Is there a solution for this?

I am currently in Velen. Have done everything in Wild Orchard, and will be pretty much cleaning out Velen until I run into a lower level quest from another area. Will going to new areas like Novigrad or Skellige close off any Velen quests? I don't want to fail or miss any quests. I'm currently level 11, and am yet to finish the Baron, and the Ladies of the Wood quests.

I didn't see him again after I
axii'd
him.

Where can I get the recipes for those?

Check with herbalists and alchemists, they usually have recipes. The dwarf herbalist northeast of Oxenfurt (Labled on map as 'Herbalist's Hut') has quite a few recipes. You'll also come across a few in loot chests.

Level 3+ is good.

Somewhere between 2 and maybe 4 depending on how much of White Orchard you did.

I did all of the ? marks and sidequests in White Orchard, I hit Velen right at level 4.

2-4 as most have already replied.

You'll be level 2 for sure. I recommend looking up all of Places of Power for those sweet, sweet ability points.

Thanks everyone! I cleared every place of interest in White Orchard and got to level 4, then in Velen I noticed I'm not getting quest XP anymore and I was wondering how long it has been going on. But this is reassuring, only a couple quests wasted then.

As a sidenote, I had a nice "oh shit" moment when I opened the world map in Velen, thinking "well I 100%'d White Orchard so I'm doing the same here!", then I scrolled that map... and scrolled... and I was like "nope, no way in hell..." :D

Haha, I had the same reaction lol. I am still trying to do it all. 70 hours and only 25% completion XD

Every time you look at a new billboard, the local area is populated with question marks. You don't need to pick up any quests or contracts from the billboard to get the places of interest.

Just you wait until you start popping those billboards at villages and towns.

Mind - blown.

The percentage of people who finish this game will be very low. I am on deathmarch taking my time with already at least 80 hours logged in and just got the find
dandelion
trophy which currently only stands at 15 percent. Im pretty sure im not even close to finishing the main campaign.

On the contrary; yesterday, I completed both the "Master Armorers" quest and one of the Crach sibling quests in Skellige (was within the level range for both) and got zip experience for both of them.

It's kind of a bummer of a bug, really.

Well, they don't give XP to me, so no. Regardless of whether or not I'm over/underleveled for them. I'm only gaining XP for combat and stuff like clearing out abandoned villages so that people come back.

Huh, I see. I guess I got some lighter variant of the bug.

Wait, you guys are playing with question marks on? Why? =/

I do, helps paint a clearer picture of what is in the vicinity when I want to branch out from the story and do some exploring.

I'm like this in all games with such features. I leave EVERYTHING turned on on the maps in AC games for example and I get them all. I'm one of those kinds. ;(

Is there a weapon or something I can do/craft that will stop my weapons from degrading? Its annoying to have to fix all the time.

Also, is there anything that lets me carry more loot? I know the second I craft something or sell something to get a load off I'll get schematics for something I really want. I'm such a hoarder lol.

Witcher sense will alert you when you're in the vicinity of a POI, all you gotta do is look around when your controller vibrates. I turned the ?s back on eventually but that's just the completionist in me coming out. Turned em back off when I got to Skellige.

Can't remember. Explore the world. At least some bomb recipes can be bought from merchants, if not looted from crates.

I have been. :p

It's huge. Super easy to miss stuff. :)

Try to buy them from alchemists or herbalists, or it is loot in chests.

Thanks. I just got to Oxenfurt and didn't check at the herbalist there. I'll try that.

I'm considering turning them off but I'll end up missing a lot of stuff then :/ And I'll probably just move on with the main quest then. I can see how turning them off can improve the experience though.

I wish I had the free time to just mess around in this game and explore it properly, but alas.

I basically ignored all question marks and still easily got 50+ hours to beat the game with everything I cared about. And that's completely ignoring gwent which I'm sure would add many more hours.

Oh, you poor thing. You have no idea what's waiting for you on your next play through if you decide to invest in Gwent.

Well, turn them off and then explore the areas yourself. Once you think you've covered everything, turn them on to see what you missed.

Turn them off when you get to a new area though, and repeat the same. That way you'd be able to enjoy the exploration more, and still be able to complete everything.

Turn them off. Ruins the tone when you do find them too.

Example. I was riding my horse and I came across a couple guys. Come to find out one of them fell and broke his leg while trying to light a fire at the top of a large monument. I gave them some herbs to dull the pain and then I was on my way.

My reaction was, "hmm, neat." whereas if I followed some marker without any context at all I'd feel like, "I rode out here for this?"

Yeh, exactly this. Well explained.

Disabling all HUD elements except for health is the best. Like you said, it feels more natural as you run into things than just setting off to do something because the mini map shows it.

I leave the mini map on. Saves me opening the world map constantly to check my direction.

If there were simple compass I'd turn it off, but as it stands I have the will power to not gaze at the mini map constantly.

You still rode out there just for that though.

I completely agree... but then all my screen grabs would have the mini map.

I just like a clean screen with nothing on it. I actually wish there was a mini map toggle. Or something like Diablo 3.
