I wonder if in the expansions, if you'll keep your level or they'll start you fresh? That would suck if the expansion wasn't 35+ content and you just slaughtered it since you were over leveled.

Damn guys, late game romance spoilers:I feel really bad about going with Triss. Yen really is a good person and loved Geralt and Ciri more. I feel so bad now.
Maybe on the latter but the former? Highly debatable.Damn guys, late game romance spoilers:I feel really bad about going with Triss. Yen really is a good person and loved Geralt and Ciri more. I feel so bad now.

Holy cow, I hope he'll release it soon.

I am doing all theTriss stuff, she just left on the boat with the mages. I was very tempted to tell her i love her. Just the chemistry between them is so palpable. My guess is things will be tough with Yennifer as well, we'll see. I don't know what to do tbh. But i am looking forward to it.
The witcher! #likeRealLife
Well, everyone wants to use Ciri but Geralt. But Yen seems to be the one person aside from Geralt who wants her to be happy.

That's why I went with her.It felt natural. Besides Yen really does treat Geralt like a fucking dog. But she has her reasons and it fits her character. I'm going to have to play this game through a second time I just know it.

Most fanboys were pretty happy with the expansion pack as far as I recall.

Basically a lesson to be learned early on is; as tempting as proceeding with the main story is ALWAYS do all the side content you can before doing anymore main story missions. It is the safest way... but at the same time some main missions conflict with side missions. Like there's a really odd one involving The Gangs of Novigrad and Get Junior.

It's just damage control for all the fanboys getting angry over CDPR charging for the expansion pass.
I'm playing on Easy anyways so that doesn't matter much to me, granted I'm playing on easy just because of the long loading times on PS4 when you die that I don't want to suffer through. Even still, I consider the story content in the sidequests more important than how easy you kill things, I feel like the story matters more. But hey, you can change the difficulty on the fly. Do your sidequests, if you're too strong crank the difficulty up and when things get leveled out again lower it back.I agree, however, you appear to become way over leveled for the main quest that way, for example, I've been doing side content in Velen, and I am currently level 12, the main story quests are level 6, and I'm not even finished with the side stuff in Velen yet.
So what's the final main story quest? I'm about 50 hours in and there's so much I haven't done yet. Once you complete the quest, I assume the game is over and you can't go back to finish anything else?
There's a post-game free-roam like most open world games. But as we're discussing many sidequests expire after certain points in the main quests so I dunno how much of those you'll lose when you finish the story.

Crafted my superior gryphon gear, realised I'm only lvl 22... Welp guess I'll walk around in my undies for 1 level

But the free DLC was announced waaaaay before they announced the Season Pass.

Wow, Priscilla's song is just so beautiful
;(
Of course the DLC is doodads, little things and stuff cut from the base game, but I wouldn't say is damage control for the expansion, it's just a marketing campaign (Look, we give free DLC unlike other companies, we are so good!) that would exist even without the expansions.
Cut content or not it's all made pretty goddamn irrelevant to me given the content is nevertheless free and Wild Hunt isn't remotely in the ballpark of lacking content as it is. Assuming the paid expansion packs will add as much content as CDPR are advertising, they'll each easily eclipse the free additional content added to both The Witcher and Assassins of Kings. CDPR were very generous with their Enhanced Editions, but arguably outside TW2's arena mode the added quests were relatively short and sweet. Nothing that would consistent as an "expansion". Much of the free Enhanced Edition content for both games was aimed at presentation.
Nah,If Geralt weren't there, Yennefer would have turned Ciri over toDuny The HedgehogEmhyr, for whom she worked for over a year without letting Geralt know that she's alive, and now she blames him for trying to figure out a life without memories. That lady's bad news and a major hypocrite.

You must not spend much time outside of NeoGAF. Youtube, Twitter et al. got crazy as usual. Everywhere tons and tons of people were complaining -- and still are.
Well, I disagree.
The expansion pass for The Witcher 3 is the first DLC ever that CDPR has charged money for. I think they knew people would be upset -- and just to clarify I'm personally not upset at all and completely understand their reasoning that this is a massive expansion pack -- especially since they've previously said that they strongly believe all DLC should be free, and so they took some small semi-pointless stuff from the game and made it into DLC.
Actually, they did. But it was stupid then, too, and the rest of us just went on with our lives.I completely disagree with the writer. It feels like some people are trying to project racial diversity that exists in America (all these social critiques tend to be written by Americans) onto medieval Northern Kingdoms. People did not make this argument when Lord of the Rings was released? Why is that?
I think if there's anything you can count on as a game developer it's that people will be upset. Over anything and everything.
Anyone upset over what CDPR is doing needs some perspective. They just gave us one of the most content rich games I've ever seen, and for the most part it was even discounted across a lot of platforms, something I haven't seen anywhere else. Yeah the free stuff is little doodads. Maybe it was cut from the game. Maybe it wasn't, but who cares? They even told people to wait and see what the expansion offers. What's there to complain about?
