The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt |OT2| Wanted to find Ciri, but everything Gwent wrong

I do, although I've just been doing the story and only about 2hrs in

also how do I obtain the chance to get potions?, looking at my consumables i only have Tawny Owl and Thunderbolt, and no potions, so when i mediate, I only replenish these 2 items, no potions

Those are both potions. There are many potions with myriad affects, and only two of them regenerate your health. Those are Swallow, and White Rafford's Decoction. You make more in your alchemy window, accessed by pressing L on PC, or by whatever system of menus also takes you to your inventory on console. You can only make potions for which you know the formula. Additional formulae can be found in chests and at alchemy and herb vendors.

So I went back to the Baron's office to get his gwent card but all I found in there were 2 pieces of paper. One of no importance, the other describing someone that owes the Baron for a gwent game gone bad. No card to be found anywhere. Any idea where to look or if that was it?

On the quest Gwent: Velen Players it says I lost the Baron portion because I never won against him before he left to heal his wife, but it has a green check mark next to the look for a unique card and info about players in the baron's office.

What card is it in my deck? There doesn't seem to be anything new, especially a "Blood Baron" Hero card.

If I understand you correctly and you're trying to get the Baron's card, you have to play him to get it. Which it sounds like you're missed the opportunity to do. Maybe they'll patch its availability post-quest into the game in the future?

If you're looking for "potions" that regenerate health (it's called vitality here), it's called swallow. There's no potions that restore health in this game afaik.
You may also want to put consumables (food) on your 2nd slot of potion to regenerate health.

thanks

one more thing about the weapon repair/ places to buy weapons, etc

I cant seem to find repair kits for my swords or vendors that have swords, the map only shows an armorer's and grind stones

have I not unlocked it yet?

You'll find a Blacksmith at the Nilfgard Garrison who can help you out, whenever you arrive there.

That said you can repair any kind of equipment at either type, armorer or smith.

People have found some references to NG+ in the game files. One related to NG+ versions of the Nilfgaardian DLC and another in the scripting files. Could mean they are planning NG+ as one of the DLC or its expansion prep.
That's interesting, but I wonder what it could really mean. Just starting over with the same level and the world has all of its enemy levels doubled? That would be kinda boring...

Some kind of mode that lets you freely explore each branch of each quest with the game straight-up telling you what will happen with each choice could be rad. Like maybe the dialogue options could say [triggers (event)] or something, I don't know.

Well these are expendable unlike the potions. I'm starting to think you don't do a lot of looting my friend >_>
Or a lot of reading of the tutorial windows for that matter...

Ciri dialogue
She mentions she traveled to a world of people with metal in their head and weapons like a megascope. The latter sounds like guns. I think that was a Cyberpunk 2077 reference and I tweetered it at CDPR folks.

Lol... my exact thoughts as I was listening to her say that. Let me know if CDPR get back to you on that one. I was thinking how cool it would be if they had Ciri turn up in a side-quest in CP2077 perhaps mostly concealed by a hood or a shadow, with say only the scar on the side of her face visible for a brief moment. They won't even have to say her name or anything, I'd love to see something like that.

Some of these armor sets are quite ugly... with the exception of Redanian Halberdier and Nilfgaardian Guardsmen armor. The Ursine armor looks nice too.

Hopefully the DLCs/patches/enhanced edition will add more armor sets.

I like how there's a terrible story behind each of the Witcher armors. Really shows how the Wolf school, shabby as it is, is at last somewhat functional.

Fuck, because the guy is dead for no reason, or more likely fucking glitched, I can't close out a Witcher Contract because he's the one to turn in the wyvern trophy trophy to.

Man, all the glitches are starting to add up.

I sure do hope another upgrade, or two, or three for the starting Kaer Morhen armor will be among them.

I recently got the enhanced Cat School armor, I like it more than the Griffin School offerings, at least.

So is Velen/Novigrad the biggest open area in the game? It's amazing though I'll feel sad if that's the big open world area of the game.

So I'm on the Isles of Mist quest, how much longer do I have to go? Feels close....

Quite a lot. Keep in mind your won't unlock anymore areas but if you wanted to beeline to the end I'd say 10 hours. You're free to keep doing sidequests up until that point though.

WOW really? haha.... it feels like i have 3 hours at most. That's surprising in an intimidating way. Hope there's more Gwent to come too!

Can't unsee the fact that it only rains in a radius of about 50 feet around the character with grey opaque lines, many going far too slow. Then there's about 200 yards of no rain at all, met by a flat texture wall of white lines. Worst rain I've caught onto in years. And boy do those grey paint smudges on the screen look bad.

I can't remember the name of the card off hand (it's a character name), but the card you get from the Baron should be a Northern Realm spy card with a 4 rating.

The game doesn't tell you you've picked it up.

Edit: Just checked, the card is the Sigismund Dijkstra card.

why should one play a rpg while the main source for xp isn't working?

Because they give you way, way too much exp for main quests and contracts in this game, you'll be overleveled for a bunch of stuff as you keep progressing, and it stays that way. Being able not to get exp for a time is a plus in my book.

Also believe it or not exp isn't as rewarding as seeing how the story plays out for each quest in this game, or the material rewards such as relic items or diagrams. I never pay attention to how much I get every quest, because I don't give a shit about it.

Triss.
I told her I loved her and she sailed off. I read you choose between her and Yennafer. So, I see her again right? What would have happened if I let her give her necklace to the hideout home owners?
Edit: lol
she stayed behind

Did you read my post? I didn't say the exp bug dosen't suck, because it does, but you can actually make use of it by counteracting against the poorly designed exp/level scaling in the game off quests. The devs messed up either way. As for the second part, it's true. Exp has always been arbitrary bullshit, to each his own if you find going after it more satisfying then the context or story of the quests themselves in a game where that's the main focus.

Saying there's still a point to playing the game even without exp != dev apology

For those that have finished, or close. Does the outcome for an eye for an eye get referenced later?

letting the nilfgaardian live or not

you just cant blame the dude (or anyone) for not wanting to play a genre that revolves around xp when the xp is broken. Ive heard some people not even getting xp from story quests, the big chunks.

you talked like not only is that fine but in fct its good because the game gives too much xp. But anyway whatever, it doesnt matter, play how you like, just allow others to do the same :)

I for one am loving this mod fix, even at just the shitty 60xp the low level quests gave me, just the placebo effect is enough for me. For the record im doing every single thing in the game

Is there a "point of no return" during the main story? And if so will it be obvious / pointed out to me? I don't want to progress the main story and miss out on a bunch of side-quests. Once you've finished the main story can you still keep playing and complete all the other quests and explore?

Where did I blame him? It's completely understandable, but he asked why even play it with no exp gain and I listed my reasons for it. It goes without saying that they're my opinions, just like I think it can be good in this situation because the game has poorly designed exp giving and scaling.

Me saying the game has such shitty design in areas so much that a bug can actually work around them, sounds like dev apology right? I was going to add this in to my other post, but here; frankly I find being called that insulting when I come on here to criticize the game just as much (if not more) than to praise it. I'm not disallowing anyone to play the game how they want it, good lord.

Two of them, and yeah they are indicated. And yes you can play after the story is done.

Geralt: Potesta...Potestaquisitor? Sounds fancy, complicated.

Yen: Yet it's ever so simple. Grasp it firmly, move it around, the louder it squeals, the closer you are.
