The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt |OT2| Wanted to find Ciri, but everything Gwent wrong

I just met Cerys and I like her, I want to help her be queen (since that's so obviously something you can do considering the conversation) over these other louts. Should I intentionally lose the race and then have drinks with them if I want the best outcome for that? I just smashed her in the race and declined the drink, but realized that might not be the best move.

You'll know it when the time comes.

No, you probably didn't notice you were kiting them into his range of view. I know this one because I did almost the same exact thing. I circled around the long way so they lost interest in me and everything went as normal. NPCs and monsters do not mix well. You are a badass witcher. They are basically just sort of covered in shite.

Hmm... oh well.

What's weird is that he left his horse at the edge of the field leading into the nearby town. I searched all over that area for him, but it looks like the game just deleted him from existence after that.

I guess next time I'll just kill everything that looks evil, rather than try to avoid a battle. I would have preferred at least the CHANCE to actually chase him. I mean, he was running out of sight before I could even get on top of my own horse.

I destroyed her in that race, drank and she became queen. Can't tell you if those factor in but there is a key point of sorts later that I'm not 100% actually decides it. You'll know what it is when you get there.

I'm planning on picking this game up soon. Any word on if the framerate will be improved on PS4? I must admit the Xbone version seems more tempting at this point as I'm expecting to be more affected by the frames than pixels.

Sounds nasty, mine did that to me a while back with Driveclub, it went into safe mode and did whatever checks it does and then it was fine again after that, fingers crossed yours is ok :)
Seems ok now thanks.

Feared the worst as the ps4 was starting up then turning off after a few seconds when I turned it on for the first time after plugging the power back in.

Game had crashed during loading of the cutscene where a beggar stops you tailing the thief and asks for change.

What expansion in the history of videogames reset the level of a character?

You twist my words.

The expansions could be new experiences, meaning you start fresh . I don't know wtf they're gonna do i was merely asking. Do you want to do level 20 content in the expansion @35+?

Why did I spend 650 bucks if I can't have my horses hair flow in the wind?
Turn down Foliage distance and shadows to high. 15+ FPS gain.
OCed 10+ FPS gain.

Should help get that Hair in the Wind action.
At least thats what i do on my GTX 980. Should work even better on the TI.

I'm still questing away and getting exp, so I'll count myself lucky. Though I'm still poking around in velen. At the 30 hour mark, currently looking for crook back bog. Though I tend to wander then get sidetracked.

Used the rich vendor mod and now they are all filthy rich. I had about 15 swords to sell that fetched high amounts, now I'm rollin' in the dough breh.

There's a few too many glitch's and bugs in this game for my liking. It's still one of my top 5 of all time but somrtimes the game can be infuriating.
Such as the Tower Outta Nowhere quest. For me it's bugged along with at least two others too. Add to that a Display bug when changing resolution (maybe a driver fault?), graphic glitch's and various UI issues and gameplay issues it's as if the game is really trying hard to annoy you.
It would be like being with a beautiful girl who randomly pokes you in the eye every so often.
I guess such bugs are to be expected. And at least CD Projekt Red patch their game pretty frequently.
Oh well. Still one of my top games.

I heard there is a bug with the Get Junior quest. I'm about to start the quest, can any one give me a quick hint as to what it is if it's avoidable?

if you're going to cheat, why not just cut out the middleman and give yourself a jillion dollars?

Then that would defeat the point of looting the hell out of everything which I enjoy doing in this game. None of the smiths or armorers are regenerating their money supply, the smith in Novigrad has had 503 all week. I'd like to sell all my stuff in one fell swoop rather than traveling the entire map just to sell stuff I don't want.

Just to cut through the hyperbole, the vast majority of time the game runs comparatively fine on the PS4.

The arguments are over the 5-10 percent where there is an issue, but at this point both machines have similar issues with maybe the Xbox being slightly better.

The res is always higher on the PS4 though.

will learn eventually
So I finally started the game last night.

I failed my first side quest. I failed it in such a way that it felt like it was bugged and kinda ruined my first impression of the game.

It's the quest where...
you come across the broken wagon and the guy asks you to find his little box out in a wooded/swampy area. After some investigation, you learn it was more of a set-up than a random ambush.

Anyway, I go back to confront the guy, after almost getting killed by Drowners 3 levels higher than me (I just grabbed the box and ran away from them - they can 1-hit me to 50% health, so I'm not messing with them), and before I know it, he goes from standing in front of me to being on a horse galloping away - the second the dialogue screen ends and goes back to the game screen. It was very quick and unrealistic. One second he's on the ground, the next he's galloping off on horseback. Odd I couldn't just reach out and grab him before he got a chance to climb onto a horse, but whatever. So, I call for my horse so I can chase him, but by time I even get onto it's saddle, the other guy is long gone and the quest fails. But I do see his horse just standing in the middle of the road ahead by itself.

...? I'm hoping it was SUPPOSED to fail because I literally had NO chance to even attempt to pursue him. I was expecting a fun chase, but it never happened. I had no way to catch him on foot and the quest had failed as soon as I got on my horse to chase him.

It was very disappointing. I reloaded my save and tried it again, but the same result. Failed right after I got onto my horse to chase him. Is that supposed to happen? Was I supposed to chase him on foot?

So, I find myself still low on EXP, only level 2 and most of the creatures I come across in the starting zones are destroying me, so I'm just basically skipping past everything that looks threatening, which is kinda boring to be honest. I gave up and went on the easy fetch quest to get the Swallow Potion to help the lady who was injured by the Griffon. That one I was able to complete for some EXP. But still, the first quest annoyed me because it felt like the game bugged out on me rather then let me even have a chance to pursue that guy. I know we're not supposed to beat EVERY quest in the game, but good grief - that was the very first quest I undertook! Left me feeling cheated, but not by the game designer's choice, but rather a bugged/glitched line of programming code.

Thanks.

Don't be a wuss. That's what I can tell you in that regard. Fight the drowners. learn the combat. If you suck too much in beginning like I did, use your horse to start a mounted attack. you can onehit most enemies in White Orchard while on horseback.

Also yes, that quest is supposed to be that way. You should ride to him on horseback and then talk to him. When he starts riding off, just get on your horse and follow him. you are a lot faster than he is, that's why you get a head start. Don't forget you can gallop by double pressing A / X (on consoles I guess) or whatever the button normally is (on PC).

I finished all quests in white orchard and just was level 3 or 4. Don't worry about your level, just get good at the combat and learn the weaknesses of your enemies. That's what it means to be a Witcher.

I know people lose it when they hear the "s word" but I think the best way to handle those expacs will be to just have them scale to your level, especially if they are really going to do a NG+. They could have a level 30 floor, but no ceiling.

Oh my, that
battle scene with the Hunt, after rescuing Ciri
was really fucking epic. Loved it.

How much more game is left? I thought it was near the end. Maybe not?

Is an alchemy build less exciting this time around? Hulking out on go go juice was probably my favorite build in W2, but at least by descriptions and early impressions, it doesn't seem as interesting. I'm early in a second playthrough on death march, and the build felt like a slog. I actually drank a respec potion to see how effective signs are (I went straight swordsmanship first time), and things are dying so much faster.
Is it the case that alchemy becomes more powerful later on, when various skills synergize, such as having potion duration stacking, and more available bombs?

I have a question regarding all the junk I'm picking up - you know, bits of meat, alchemy and crafting things, books etc. Even with no main items in my inventory, I'm still using 25/90 encumbrance, so I presume this is all those little items adding up.

What do I do about it? Should I sell loads of stuff, and how do I know what to get rid of?

alchemy is still powerful but having so few slots makes it a hassle imo. Having to open inventory all the time for alchemy items just makes me stick to melee/sign builds.

Just started playing it, at the beginning.
When I finish a mission, does it show the XP earned anywhere in the screen?
I'm at the tavern, after meeting the
griffin
for the first time and I see I have 264XP even though I never saw it popping up on screen.

Is it normal?
