Started playing, got to the first Inn. Not feeling the combat yet, but I think I just need to develop a rhythm and my own style. I am no A/V snob but holy shit at the framerate on the PS4.

I thought the whole game was looking for Ciri. And I'm more than 50 hours in.

Or it could be a leader card.

Not to hate on Bioware (I really like them!!!!) but if this were a Bioware game then it would totally be final mission time once you find Ciri.

Man.

At this point, I dont care about when the patch is coming. I just want them to say "PS4 framerate will be improved to stable 30 FPS"

I can wait for the patch... I cant stand not knowing if the framerate will get fixed or not

Is there a vendor in Velen/Novigrad that sells the tier-1 bomb diagrams? I have a few enhanced/superior recipes that are useless because I've never crafted the normal variant.

Ok thank god there are more acts because so far I have to say this whole " find Ciri " thing is growing old. It's taking way too long. And it's not very interesting

Ok, when you play as Ciri getting hunted that is interesting. But the act of finding her as Geralt is not

Decided to go ahead and start playing the main quests again. If I'm over-levelled for the main quest by 5 levels, then not getting some EXP won't kill me. Plus, I keep getting enough EXP from just side quests and random monsters.

I heard some people saying that the game becomes more linear when you complete Act 1. Is that true?

Shall I complete all the sidequests and open world stuff before I move on to Act 2?

lol I'm like 130 hours in and still on Act I

Guess that's what happens when you turn POIs off and do a bunch of side quests, and play slow as balls. Looting everything doesn't help either, though I'm starting to lax on that.

80 hours and only now I'm heading to Novigrad. Currently at 27% completion.

Man doing all the ? Marks in Velen is really starting to make me feel like im losing the joy factor. But I can't stop my ocd! What am I missing if I dont hit all the ? Marks? Or sidequests?

Not really. Bioware would've made the story about Geralt being the most important person in the world though.

Yeah, Geralt would have been the most important person in the world interspersed with him finding a lot of useful shit for a lot of irrelevant people :p

This has become the Witcher's "leave the Hinterlands," but stop worrying about the ?s ASAP.

You're only missing out on some diagrams for weapons/armors/potions/oils etc,

Also monster nests and Abandonent sites reward good amounts of xp so it's worth going after them

How do you know your completion rate? Don't see it in detailed stats.

Do those at your leisure, because the loot you get from them scales to your level, so you'll get rewarded whenever you do them. Not sure if I like loot scaling but it does quell the ocd there somewhat.

Sidequests though, quite a few of those aren't marked by POIs so you can't really be sure on those anyways. My suggestion, if you don't want to turn them off, just do POIs when you feel like it or only do them as you come across them doing quests.

So is the bowl cut hair that they previewed not actually gonna happen? I feel stupid for falling for the joke....

I've only just reached Novigraad but the game is quite phenomenal, the music that played leading up to the city was gorgeous.

I fully admit the game wouldn't be as good without Gwent though, it's that addictive.

Hmmm, from what I noticed there's opportunities to find recipes for alchemy items (bombs, potions, oils) if you go around and loot stuff in POIs. Or you can buy some of them from vendors so you're still mostly covered.

Not sure where the recipe for Enhanced White Rafford is though, I have the base and Superior. Same with I think White Honey? I'm missing a small number of recipes.

Also just curious, I just finished Act 2, how long is Act 3 supposedly (as in no. of mandatory quests)? I'm like at level 30 at the start of that, so I think I'm gonna start rounding off by doing all the sidequests that went from red to green during Act 2.

Couldn't stop laughing at the stuttering guy during the final Velen horse race. Game's got some great humour. Rock Trolls are the best characters in the game.

Finally bagged the Ciri Gwent card. Addicting going after them.

Regarding winning a card off a random NPC, can you play them again and win more cards (I guess each reward is random)? Or is it one card per NPC?

Where do you get the Ciri card from?

You only can win one card per NPC. If you play them and win again, you get some random material that has some decent value.

This game look so much better when it's not in the middle of the day or the night.

I love nightime everywhere. That wary feeling of the moonlight and the darkness, as well as the idea of monsters prowling everywhere, and the slight glow of the moon on certain parts of the ground. Love it.

Alright thanks. Ive just been ocd'ng the ? Marks hardcore today and most don't feel worthwhile. Maybe I should focus on quests and sidequests first and only do them if I stumble upon them on a way to a quest.

Few questions though.
Do you get almost all side quests from the notice boards?
I notice some of my side-quests and witcher contracts are like 20 levels over what I am. Is that normal?
Do I need to be worried about xp? One of the main reasons Ive been doing so many ? I see the aforementioned things so high and im still a lonely level 5.

I hope they fix the abandoned site in white orchard, where the memorial is. Right now I'm playing a few quests but then trying to uncover the map once I need to mix it up.

I've not played for a few days, waiting for the patch to drop to fix the exp bug. I really want to pay but I want my exp. I don't care if I'll be over-levelled and an utter badass. I really want to play though :( But I want exp for all my quests.

Yea I gave up on those a long time ago. Now I do the side quests and witcher contracts and if I happen to run into a "?" then ill do it or else you'll burn out pretty quickly.

Having played the Witcher 3 for 7 hours or so, I must say I hated it. Not sure if I need to keep playing to get into the story or not (I'm in my first quest in Velen) but the story and lore haven't really grabbed me yet. The combat is awful and the game overall does a horrible job of explaining the systems to you and their importance properly. The world also seems very boring so far. Should I keep playing? Does it get better?

Having played Bloodborne for 125 hours and finishing that game 3 times, I must say makes the witcher seem generic and lackluster in comparison.

Go through the Bloody Baron stuff, IMO that's where the game starts to kick off.

If you're still not feeling it by then, the game probably isn't for you.

Griffin armor. Geralt is eating good. Must be playing on a harder difficulty with no innate health regen...just fucking pounding that cows milk and candy.

Did you guys pick Triss or Yennefer?

I think the decision comes too soon. I know absolutely nothing about Yennefer to commit to a decision. :(

I'll ignore the "Now or Never" sidequest for now to see if I get more of Yennefer. How long until she appears again? I'm about to go to Skellige.

Also, if you
let Triss go, will she appear again? Is there other chance to romance her after that?
(romancing Triss spoiler)

This game is incredible. Will Western devs be able to retake the torch? The only group I can see putting this kind of care and heart into a game anymore is Rockstar.

I like Bioware/Bethesda but man, CDPR has changed the field.
