The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt |OT2| Wanted to find Ciri, but everything Gwent wrong

Completed the main story and really didn't like my ending. :(

Ciri went trough the beam into some ice world, maybe died there? Geralt killed the last crone and found Ciri's/Vesemir's medallion. The end.

I know that having sex with Yen and Triss (and the other mage) was a huge fault but is there any chance to save Ciri by playing the last battle again? I said nothing when she told me she wants to save the world, maybe I should've forbidden her?

What you do with tress and yen has no impact on the ending.
well no impact on ciri

Here- ENDING SPOILER

That's the
bad end. Or should I say, sad end.

Congrats, you are one of the few people who got it! In a way you are special :p

Is it generally agreed that the Witcher diagram equipment is the best in the game? If so, there's no real need to worry about the other loot in the game right since the levels of the diagrams are set?

I'm a bit disappointed with how 'short' Act 2 and Skellig's Act 1 main quests were. Velen's and Novigrad's Act 1 quests really took a majority of my time. What am I expecting in Act 3 length wise?

Also I sort the dialogue in Act 2 was amazing, not that it was bad in Act 1 but it has really gone up another level.

The fate of Ciri is determined by all of your interactions with her, plus a few side quests.. Did you have a snowball fight, did you choose to let Ciri vent by destroying the hidden lair, etc.

I think I got hit with the XP bug yesterday, but I was getting XP during the quest for completing objectives so I'm not entirely sure.

Was doing Pyres of Novigrad as a level 14 but levelled up mid-way through. The follow-up quest is a grey quest so I'm not sure if I just out-levelled it before its completion.

On a separate note, I'm starting to feel like the game will never end. I went on a mad exploration run in Velen recently after completing the Bloody Baron stuff, managed to hit 95% of the question marks, then decided to do some side-quests and contracts, and eventually more of the main quest. Then it hit me that I've still got all of Skellige to explore, and that place looks bigger than Velen! Steam says my current game time is 43 hours :O

Still loving it all though!

I wonder if the next Witcher will have anything to do with Phillipa Eilhart. She tells Geralt during a certain quest that he's
better off taking Yennefer, and Ciri far away since she would rather not throw them in the dungeons when she takes over the Imperial Court.

I know CDPR stated that Geralt wouldn't be the protagonist, but he could still probably show up as a supporting character to help out whoever the protagonist is.

Heavy spoilers for end of act 2 (at your own risk folks, dare I say, don't read if you haven't completed the game)
Damn, Vesemir. Fuck, I teared up a bit at that part. All in all, the battle of Kaer Morhen was utterly amazing and I ensured a save file to replay it when I want to. I am left wondering though, where's Iorveth? Could have used him and Sasha.

Amazing work done by CDPR. It's been a long long while where I have been shouting (in a good way) or laughing at a game like this.

Another example, currently heading up to face the Crones (finally payback) and Imlerith. And I cracked up so hard at the part where Ciri and Geralt decide to do rock, paper, scissors to decide who's facing Imlerith.

I did both and didn't accept the payment. On the other hand I didn't let her speak to the sorceresses alone and had no time to visit the boy's grave. Thats 3:2 by my reckoning.
Considering how many bugs and broken quests I had, I shouldn't be at all surprised if a bug is responsible for this, too.

Note that Skellige is a lot of islands and many of those question marks over there are underwater, which might not be worth wasting your time unless you're a real completionist.

so..why the game is making a big deal that now the witch hunters

are going against the non humans too, when the first thing i saw them doing was burning a mage and a shapeshifter at the stake?

That does sound kind of naff but leaving them undiscovered (or white if it's an explorable location or treasure or a camp) will probably torment me more :S

Just turn off the question marks once you're at that point, no torment needed!

Sorry to break this to you, but the "new" gwent cards are just alternate designs for currently existing ones.

wow, really ? That's so lame. Is it for all cards, at least ? If it's only for select ones, the lack of design uniformity will be weird, and also impractical.

I have a quick question about Triss.
I let her go off to Kovir on the boat. Is she gone for good or will she come back again later
?

I thought the Novigrad missions dragged on a bit, at first I appreciated the lull after the intensity of Family Values and the Whispering Hillock, and I enjoyed the part working with
Dijkstra
, and it was probably something to so with me obsessing over the side quests, but despite enjoying moments of every questline, and finding some of he characters especially engaging (loved Voorhis for some reason), I felt slightly disengaged throughout.

Now I've finally allowed myself to reach Skellige the game feels much more engaging, perhaps all I needed was a change in scenery.

Don't get me wrong, even at it's least engaging Tw3 is holding my attention more than most.

Perhaps it was a comedown from two of the best quests I've played in an RPG.

60 hours in, level 17, still ages to go. This game is a lifestyle.

Only for some cards, mainly the heroes. It's weird, some of the cards show characters backs.

She
will be back when you'll need her.

Hello, my name is Yves Guillemot, Vivendi S.A.'s Employee of the Month!
Let me just say that this is the most fun i've had with a game in the last few years. Seriously, this is the standard for open world. Extremely immersive so far and I haven't even reached Skellige which apparently has it's own culture as well.
Also very unlikely that i will be participating in any downgrade threads. Too much hyperbole prevails over logical thought and discussion in those threads.

Short question about the last Keira quest (after
sleeping with her
): does it make a difference wether
you send her to Kaer Morhan with or without the notes of the Mage
?

The term nonhuman refers to the other civilised races, meaning elves, dwarves, halflings and gnomes. Dopplers are not considered nonhumans.

So, I romanced
Yen
, in the end of Now or Never I told
Triss to stay, then I told her to go. She will still appear in Kaer Morhen in Act 2, to get the full crew achievement? I'm not a fan of achievement, but I think I can grab all of them for Witcher 3, since I'm missing only the gwent, level 35 and story-related ones.

Yes.

I really really really don't mean to shit on this thread, but I could use some advice.

I'm not having any fun at all with Wild Hunt ever since I got to Velen. I'm around 30 hours into the game, and I'm pretty much forcing myself to play it just because I can't help but feel that I'm the one who doesn't get it, since mostly everyone adores it. I keep playing and hating every minute just hoping it will somehow grab me again. I was actually pretty into it in White Orchard, but now I just can't stand it.

Should I keep playing to see if it clicks with me? Maybe just rush the main quests? Or should I just accept that it's not for me, drop it and move on?

I pre-ordered the game back in January, I was so excited for it, loved Witcher 2 as well, I don't know why I can't get into it.

What isn't clicking for you? The combat? The quests?

I have a love hate relationship with this game. I hate all the cut scenes, and I hate all the combat, I hate all the itemization. But I love exploring, I love some of the characters, and I love playing as Ciri (but I hate her combat too)

Thanks. Also I have maybe a stupid question:
when I killed Menge, I can't find the location of the treasure. I tried to do the peaceful way, but in the end he always got pissed attacking me. I retrieved a key, giving it to Dijkstra. Was there a way to retrieve the treasyre? If so, how?

If you asked Menge
where the treasure is during the conversation, you tell Dijkstra and he gets the treasure himself. It will come up in a later quest when you need a favor from him.

So if I understand it right, you enjoyed playing it when you were in White Orchid, but you couldn't enjoy it when the open world part starts in Velen, since it's quite overwhelming at first right?
If so, then just do some main quest and side quest if you can. Don't force yourself to explore everything and go to every place if you don't want to, just take your time and maybe you'll want to do some exploring.
I had a similar a feeling, but I just took a pause, since I was playing it nonstop.

Well, to sum up my experience for today with the Witcher.

God, I love this game.

Bald Mountain spoilers
Did any of you know that you can loot Imlerith if you don't elect to go with Ciri right away? He has one of those acorns that they were talking about earlier. At first, I gave it to the two guys that you meet at the start of the quest. However, I started to think, these bastards probably had a good measure of what was happening to the children and what the ladies did. So, reloaded, fuck the bastard. I am getting my +2 skill points, have fun managing on your own. Wondering if this has any negative consequences though.
