Yeah... I found a bracelet at the bottom of the well. Is there a way to abandon and pick up a mission again?

Just stop doing the mission. Go away, find a new one.

Or if you want to force a different quest choice, go to Quests on your touchpad screen, scroll through the quests, choose one you want and press X. It'll become active.

You don't have to do quests in any particular order and don't feel like you need to do every quest. CDPR might patch your issue in future.

Thanks. Weird it would pop up when I cannot do it. I like the game but it's super buggy.

I think it just a message that that type of armor can be upgraded. At least thats what it thought after i didn't find a way to upgrade it. Then i realized there are quests to go pick up the rest of the upgrades.

Why would you expect it to be free? It's just more content added seamlessly into the game. A merchant near the start sells the horse armor and Temerian set. For money.

Also, the second DLC batch (new contract/new Yennefer appearance) is out now. On PC, at least.

It doesn't need to be free in game---just a better sense of where to go.

Thank you.

I will head to White Orchard.

Am I the only one whose bane of existence is archers on Death Marches Difficulty? Horde of Drowners? No problem. Gaggle of Wraiths? Pfft.. Witcher Contract bosses? Easy peasy. Archer half my level a mile away in the woods? Dead Geralt. Obvious answer I guess is I should really invest in learning to parrying arrows from woodland snipers.. :(

Just finished the K
eira
M

quest arc. I really enjoyed it aside from from that long treck in the cave, which was really tedious on Death March. I managed to convince her to
go to Kaer Mohren and let her keep the notes.

Hopefully there are no negative ramifications for letting her keep them.

Disregard my previous comment, you do NOT need to fully charge the alternate Axii to make the monster change sides. Yeaaaah....this one is OP.

Need a mod in here to enforce spoiler tags jesus.

Yeah, it's rather baffling how many fuckwits are unable to grasp the basic concept of: "Late story spoler:
blahblahblah
"

Instead, it's just "hey guys
blahblahblah
", or even people casually using tags for the ends of their sentences, in which it has no relation to the game what-so-ever. As fun as it is to share your experiences when playing, for such a narrative driven game, I wouldn't recommend reading the thread until you're finished imo. I'd imagine this is doubly painful for those at work or unable to play, and are reading in their spare time.

They should really be ashamed of how they handled the
Keira Metz
character. Just blatant objectification and at most a tired "sex is her weapon" cliche.

She is known to be the most lustful sorceress in the lodge. Very much in character, for her

But that's what roleplaying is, like I said. Trying to get into Geralt's headspace is the actual definition of roleplaying. Being able to choose between ranged and melee combat is roleplaying too, I guess, but a far weaker interpretation of it. Skyrim doesn't "fail in some aspects" of roleplaying, it simply doesn't offer it at all. Since you had zero examples, besides combat situations, of when Skyrim offers actual roleplaying, I'm gonna have to assume that you concede that it doesn't actually offer any.

The game offers like a 5 hour quest starring her and 4 minutes and 58 seconds of said quest is talking and getting to know her, while fighting together with her (in a situation where Geralt would've been dead if it wasn't for her), and forming a friendship. There's a 2 minute sex scene.

You're deciding to ignore the 4h58m so you can be angry about those 2 minutes, but the game is the one reducing her to a sexual object. Uh huh. Okay.

I agree with both sides of this discussion in some way, but I think there's slightly different definitions of 'role playing' which are used in the same context'.

- "role playing" as in "playing a role". Being a character. Becoming the character. (The Witcher.)
- "role playing" as in "creating your own role and playing it". Becoming a fantasy you. (Skyrim et al.)

Both valid, both go for different things. Imo the former usually tells better stories and is more immersive. The most immersive games I've ever played have always had pre-set characters.

Just curious, how far into Novigrad's quest lines and the game in general am I now?

Just killed Junior. I'm about to confront Menge with Triss

Some questions, since I'm doing ONLY side-quests and I'm 20 hour into the game (only cleaned the prologue as story-related mission).
Are there missable side-quests or time based side-quests? Because I reached the point in which I can only find group of enemies 15 levels higher then me, and fighting them is simply impossibile at my level , that's 7. Like a haunted swamp in which there are several level 16 wraith, I can handle them easily on one vs one, but if two of them attack me at the same time is very hard to survive, and there's also a ghost bride that kill me in two hits.

Yes some sidequests can be missed by progressing the story. You get a "Quest Failed" in red when that happens. When you progress the plot some NPC can die or leave or some area becomes inaccessible so you can't do the quests anymore.

So do POIs ever spill over into "real" quests or are they all primarily monster nests, hidden treasures, bandit camps, etc.?

Absolutely adore the game so far but I doubt I will have the 100+ hours to do everything, so I am wondering if I should just focus on the side-quests and contracts outside of the main quests to get the most "bang for your buck" so to speak.

Thanks!

over-leveling really kills the game for me. I think I will quit until they balance this.
Now I wish I had PC version because there is a mod to reduce XP rewards.

Do higher difficulties reduce XP rewards?

Same. I was like, "Is that Letho?" Then Geralt was like, "Is that you Letho?" I ended up letting those bandits get his medallion instead of his head and directed him to Kaer Morhen. He's had a rough time and deserves a restin'
Nice spoilers... You and a guy you quoted. nice work.
Fuck this, I'm out of this thread.

Sucks that there is a 10 card in the first row or scorched/dragon would have rekt your opponent. Or frost card of course.

I got 6 cards with one scorch earlier. After being on the receiving end so many times by the AI it felt so freaking good.

Ran into someone from TW1 and
I couldn't wipe the grin off my face. FUCKING THALER!

He has an even bigger potty mouth than before

Just a link since its a spoiler

We've got spoiler tags for a reason, guys.

Also ran into overencumbrance for the first time in the game. I'm carrying so many cheap swords on me, time to go on a selling spree.

Are you kidding me?!
Just keep blocking my arse, did any of you actually finish the Fists of Fury?!
Last Fist Champion Olaf Spoiler!
ITS A BEAR! A FRICKING BEAR! What asshole sends a bear to a fistfight for gods sake. But funny enough he was easier than all the other fights before, since I still bad at blocking and countering and rather good at dodging around people :^>

But the end of the Fist of Fury questline and
the follow up quest
are utterly hillarious.

Or both.

Can someone start up a Spoiler OT? Too many people in here are not using the tags and asking very specific questions about late game quests without tags.

OK, what are the best choices to make after the prologue for a Witcher Virgin? I've heard it's best to keep as many people alive as possible to maximise quest opportunities...
Spoiler tag the answers I guess... :p

So last night I finished Now or Never and A Matter of Life and Death in Novigrad (Triss), and now its got me thinking.
I told her I loved her so she got off the ship and stayed. Apparently I could have also chose the other option instead of fully committing and she would have stayed as well, kind of wish I had chose that one.
Now, I found this:
When you start Now or Never, go and defend the mages. When you’re at the docks near the end, tell her you love her. She then boards the boat, but comes back for you. You then have sex at a lighthouse. If Djikstra asks you to kill Radovid, you’ve failed to spark a fire in Triss and should reload an earlier save file.
Does anyone know what the bolded above means?
He totally asked me to kill Radovid and I said I'd think about it.

Someone ran my screenshots through the old oil paint filter. Some look pretty cool:

See them all here.

Lovely. Looks like it was Ve3tro who added some in the last OT. Great to see them at a higher res this time.

And absolutely, mark potential spoilers people. We don't want to keep others out of the thread due to this.

There actually is one that's in the Quick Links of the OP, but it doesn't get much use and the title needs to be updated.

I think we arleady got one, it's just nobody wants to use it. Make sense, since the people who can't be spoilered at all for any quests or the main story line are very few.
There is really no way around educating people how to spoiler.

Is loot broken? I'm level 24 and did a contract that was a higher level and I got a sword that was under my current level. Isn't loot suppose to scale to your current level?

combination of Dummy and Spy cards made Baron an easy win
He likes to play Spy cards alot, so you can play your spy cards and take his with Dummy card. At the end I had so many cards he had no chance.

I stay overencumbered and i have the biggest saddlebags as far as i can tell (lets you hold 160 weight)

The overencumberence isn't the biggest issue in and of itself, it's the fact that merchants literally run out of money and take days before they have a decent amount again. Never seen an in-game economy set up this realistically. It's both interesting and incredibly annoying.

So every so often i have to take a break from exploring all the POIs to fast travel from town to town look for a merchant who has money and that's assuming they actually can buy the shit i'm trying to sell! ugh. lol

Great, can't carry on with this quest because Triss won't get the fuck out of a doorway. This game man, I'm loving it but it can be glitchy as hell. Have to restart it all over now...

This has probably already been asked but this thread moves insanely fast. I'm only level 3 now but you do you get more ability points as you level up more or is it 1 for 1 each level? I found a
Place of Power
so that helps too.

Love the little details in this game. Wandered into a bookstore in Novigrad and
it sparked a tiny micro quest related to Alvin from the first game!

Is this a bug, or do you not get any experience for completing Family Matters, Whispering Hillock, OR Ladies of the Wood? I just finished all three in one play session and got absolutely no experience. The fuck? Do I have to complete Return to Crookback Bog first?
