I know a couple of people here were affected by the xp bug (meaning we wouldn't gain any xp during main quests and others, which is pretty much game-breaking in a way). Just wanted to share that CDProjekt now found the issue, and are working on a fix. It'll be long to wait for the patch to come to Xbox One, though.

Hey folks, anyone know where the Beast Oil diagram is? I have the enhanced Beast oil one but can't find the first. Any tips?

It has better side quests than New Vegas? Really?

As a huge fan of NV yes, I think it does. However I'll have to replay NV again after TW3 to make my own final opinion/judgement.

Nonetheless, you won't be disappointed with side quests nor the main quest in TW3. It's really good. Something I haven't seen since the CRPG days in the same quality really besides a few exceptions like NV and Pillars of Eternity (which itself was to be expected any ways).

Wasnt aware of this, I finished the prologue on level 4 after finishing all the side quest and PoI, should I have finished it on a higher level?

At what level should I enter Novigrad? I am a level 9 and clearing up side missions in Valen.

No way. I'm level 11 and still got tons of side-quests in Velen. Have you missed a bunch of side-quests, skipped ? marks or is there some other reason why you're underlevelled? Seems strange.

No, that's right. 4 is pretty much the highest you can get in White Orchard. Leveling up in this game is relatively slow outside of the main questline.

Question:

So with all these "DLCS" they are putting out. How does one claim them? Like if I wanted to change Yennefer's look how do I do that?

No, it's all right.
This bug appeared much later to me, like at around level 14 or something.

Do people toss away books after they read them? None of them are important enough to keep if they are in the same category as food... right?
Yeah, I make 100% sure that I've read them then I sell them. They only sell for 1 gold each but they clutter up all my potions and oils.

I wish the game had containers to store loot we don't want to carry around all the time. Also I wish the game allowed us to sort our inventories by weight, value, type and rarity.

So I just completed the
Keira bang quest
, moved on to find the
godling Johnny... killed the harpies at the top of the hill, then proceeded further up the hill to a cave where I found a Griffin armor diagram that prompted a new quest for the Griffin armor.
I really need some new threads, so I'm wondering how long in total the
Griffin armor
quest(s) takes?

Not too long. Its like 4 places, and they are kinda spread out. Worth it tho, imo.

Not long and it's worth it early on. I used that armor for a very long time.

So i was walking around in Crookback Bog when i saw some loot on the ground. "Letter from Yennefer". What? It's the books and papers i droped there hours ago.
Is the game keeping track of everything i drop on the ground?

I dont know if I hate the weight limit or love it. On one hand its annoying we cant run, but on the other... I absolutely love the moment when I am overburdened with all the loot after clearing an area and on my way to a shop/armorer/blacksmith to sell them.

I don't know if it does it between gameplay... but it does keep it around in a game session so far. Would be interesting and kind of pointless to keep them there the whole time.

Find a little cubbyhole that you can drop things as a makeshift storage spot!

why such a long wait on X1? I thought since they don't charge for patches anymore, patches are out all the time - seems that way on all my other games.

Doesn't Skyrim do this? Save files started to be like 20MB

side note - they've gotta fix the map at least on X1. It loads as you move and the cursor just jerks around. It's giving me vertigo.

Quick question, after I was finished talking to the king I noticed there was a quest giver in the courtyard. When I spoke to him my only option was to play cards, do I have to win to get his quest or is that ! just to indicate a card game?

I take it back. this is smart. lol

The game does have issues with its inventory. I wish the horse could hold more items. I thought my upgrade to 90 was a big deal, but i tend to get it full after roaming around and doing quests.

I'm at 160 max but I rarely go below 105 at this point with all the items I've acquired. It's definitely a low limit.

Certification process, as in, the process during which Microsoft checks that the patch doesn't brick the console

Awesome, thanks!

I've got new armor to look forward to this evening.
As is, I looked like a jester-assassin-clown in my mismatched apparel.

You'll be taking on enemies pretty fast. What level are you?

Its like, sometimes i wish i could keep some weapons and stuff, but there is no point if i have something that is better. I'll be upset when i have to get rid of my griffin armor. i should prbly upgrade it before it becomes obsolete.

They should really be ashamed of how they handled the
Keira Metz
character. Just blatant objectification and at most a tired "sex is her weapon" cliche.

I got bored of Skyrim, and yeah, the dungeons were partly why. Just copy pasted, it felt like.

I felt Fallout was constantly rewarding on the other hand. Maybe it was just the atmosphere and setting, but vaults always had an interesting and eerie backstory, and it was fun to explore huge creepy buildings.

What's it like in Witcher? Lots of dungeons or caves or something?
There are a few caves, but most of your time will be spent in fields and forests for piddly quests and exploration.
Gamersyde seems to be getting into the performance comparison business. Perhaps they are going to give DF a run for its money:

That will be nice since Digital Foundry is horribly biased.

How do I get to this place of power in velen? The road on the map that apparently leads to it isn't a road at all it's dense forest and it's on this massive mountain that is not climbable. And on the east face of it there is a ?? basalisk that keeps me from freely exploring that path.

I think it's gotta do with the gates to the west of it but those probably don't open unless it's for story reasons so maybe I'm just not supposed to go here yet?

Came across two Wyvern nesting on top of a hill. They're level 21, I'm level 15. Managed to cheese one by hiding in a cave, currently doing the same to the second.

I ain't even bored. Those fuckers can take a hit out of your health, though, jeez.

7, I believe

You'll feel powerful after you get the complete set of armor and swords. :) dmg on the swords is pretty good, i crafted in a rune to chance to freeze and i slow down people left and right. I do miss my previous weapon tho, set them ablaze.

First thing I did 30 minutes in was to download a mod to get rid of item weight. It wasn't fun in Skyrim and it sure well isn't fun in Witcher 3. I understand the idea behind it is to get you to take a break from questing and go back to town but I feel like it breaks the pacing for me if I'm in the middle of something and suddenly encumbered.

The sucky part of not playing this game on PC. ~_~

Yeah that was the first mod I grabbed as well. I don't find carry limits fun.

is sex not a weapon?
are there no women who enjoy/flaunt their sexuality?

Novigrad contract spoiler:

The guards who messed with the succubus sure didn't think so. Kinda wish Geralt had more dialogue options to interact with her besides "Kill her" and "Leave town k?." Do you ever end up running into her again?

Well congratulations! You got yourself caught!
Can't say I like the way rewards are balanced. 99% of the time relic weapons are under the level of the quests they're attached to. Worst example is I went and fought a level 25 nightwraith at level 19 for a couple old ladies. 10 minutes later I'm looking around for treasure and unwrap a freaking level 14 sword. Another example which is just sad is (level 22 main quest spoiler)
Cracht an Crait gives me a hallowed family heirloom because he can't offer any other support.
Look at it, keeping in mind this is a level 22 quest and it's level 18.

Wish I could give it back lol. Shits going to a vendor.

It does seem crafting has been the primary source of my equipment upgrades, though I have definitely found a few relic swords that are immediately improved for me. More often than not though, raiding guarded or hidden treasure chests results in vendor trash which is kind of a shame. I am not too bothered by it, but I can understand those that find it a real problem, especially when the rewards are as imbalanced to the guardians in your case.

I felt really bad about that one because I killed her immediately since I'm used to succubus being evil demons but then I read the bestiary and it said that they're mostly harmless :(
