Wow, that's cool. Can you actually get Whispering Hillock before then or do you just need to know where to go?
Yep, just checked. Loaded up an autosave from wayback when I entered Velen for the first time
after the audience in Vizima
and went straight for the oak(
you can even ignore the Lycan guarding the entrance as the quest still triggers once you've reached the heart and have a conversation with the spirit
).
And since Ciastek confirmed it I'd say that's the best option to go,
because that way you safe the children, Anna is still alive and the Baron won't hang himself. Also, fuck the villagers for feeding children to the Crones, they deserve what's coming after you free the spirit.
Blessed be CDPR and their quest design!

Simulate. Otherwise the game will ask you a bunch of questions that you have zero context to answer with.

It's actuallly the opposite, you need to say no in that case.

But then the choices will be already chosen, and it'd be equally confusing when referenced in the game, no?
You can pretty much go into details in dialogues to know what needs to be known. Would you prefer having the choice to choose answers in questions you don't know the consequences of?

You know, the only criticism I have of this game is that I fucking hate the map breadcrumb things, it's like it's on crack, heroin and steroids.
Shit just goes mental and points in all different directions.
It annoys me that when I actually need it to point me in the right direction, it often just bugs out and the breadcrumbs disappear.

Lol.
I killed him
I'm not sure if they've even mentioned the wish before. Both Yennefer and the Djinn incident were only mentioned in passing prior to Wild Hunt.
Huh, weird.

I think instead of being asked questions, you will get exposition. So far as I know, the defaults don't lock you out of anything, so unless you are trying to create a specialized word state I see no reason to simulate.

There are vids explaining the questions, though, if you want to research it.

Long Post

Careful with that goal post. You initial said people didn't like it because they didn't want to think in their games, an insulting and frankly bad post.

As you your other points: spamming light attack and using quen give me the highest dps. I literally cannot kill things more efficiently; the animation time on signs and bombs lower my output. Have no need for stamina, rage works just fine. And yeah, I have the whirl attack. Now I can hold square instead of pushing it.

I don't care if you like the combat. I really don't. I do care when people do to drastic, insulting lengths to justify a system.

I'm a little confused. When it says "SImulate witcher 2 save" should I say "On" or "off"?

What's best for a total newbie?

VG247 says:
If you’re playing on either PlayStation 4 or Xbox One and want to make sure choices you’ve made in The Witcher 2 carry over to the new game, you will want to choose to simulate. This will cue the scene (which takes place after the prologue) and an NPC will ask you about your past.

If you want to go in clean, or “as CD Projekt intended,” as some players believe, you will need to not select the simulate option.

So it seems I should say no?

It's yes or no.

You either decide that you want to simulate a Witcher 2 game file, or you don't. If you say yes, then you'll be asked questions later on as to what you did in previous games so you can simulate your past choices that way. If you say no, then it's because you either don't remember, or you didn't play them, which should be the way to go for a new player to the series.

Yes, you should say no. It's very poorly worded. If you simulate then you have to answer a bunch of questions that will "simulate" your witcher 2 save.

I'd say "off," unless you feel like researching it. You'll get CDPR's canon world state that way. Without previous experience, this is probably best

I don't know how I feel about killing
Kiera
just now. I thought I was going to get
her to 1hp to protect her. Not kill her for taking the notes.

Posting from my phone, so my internet cut out today due to them working on the lines. I'm unable to load my game due to this message "you are missing the following downloadable content required to open this save: beard and hairstyle set". Is there any way to work around this? It's on ps4 for fucks sake, the DLC should be on the system and should not require any goddamn Internet connection.

Yes I'm mad

Wow, Jenny of the Woods is no joke. I am even above the recommended level for her. :/

I don't understand the concern really, if you had no problem with the noonwraith from the prologue area then it's exactly the same fight. Lay down yrden, spectre oil, run away when the 3 wraiths that steal your health.

For a lot of posters, Jenny seems to be when shit gets real
And I was just thinking to myself that I am starting to get in a groove with the combat. lol

I did that fight first try , I am on my 4th go around with Jenny....sigh maybe a good time to hang it up for the night.

Had a glitch were everyone voice was in normal speed, but they were moving/talking in slow-motion.

Great game that SURPASSED my expectations, especially after Dragon Age: Inquisition. I might give that game another go, but worried that my opinion is going to be even more negative after playing the Witcher 3 :(

Well I had a negative opinion while playing the game. Witcher 3 just makes it a lot harder to go back to it.

After almost 40 hours of gameplay dicking around in Velen, I finally entered Novigrad. Jesus the size of that city puts most games to shame (at least for RPG games).

Caved and started playing before patch for annoying stuttering. 9 hours in and not feeling it. Playing on PS4. Looking forward to entering new areas as I'm just not loving the landscape so far.
Think I started too soon after finishing DA:I which I loved.
I'll give the game another 60 hours before I give my final verdict. Stay tuned!

Probably. I played Divinity Original Sin before DA:I and it made the combat in DA:I unbearable.

I don't get it either. I did the fight today in one try. It's pretty much a standard wraith-style fight. If you've got your sign, oil, bomb and maybe a potion, it's a breeze.

That's my problem sadly. I do want to finish playing Dragon Age, but I was FORCING myself to get through the game, which is disappointing since I like the lore of Dragon Age and want to see what happens to Morrigan and Flemeth.

Witcher 3.......is so damn good. I was not expecting this!!

Witcher 3 has it's problems but I don't think I can go back to DA:I after it. Which I stopped playing for Dying Light, and I don't know what happened after that.. lol

(Lot of minor stuff in this game kills my enjoyment though. Can't recall now but I will when I get playing again.)

DAI's main issue is that the game's story, which outside of its characters was its other positive, peaked in Act I and flopped the rest of the way.

The health system is really annoying me, I'm at low health all the time since monsters never seem to give me any health regen... Following
the witch in Velen
and the drowners keep fucking me up because I have low health.

Buy food and alcohol and meditate whenever you're out of swallow.

I like the sun and stars perk too.

game and storytelling are excellent, but the sound glitches during cutscenes are awful on the XBO version. Hope that fix is in the next patch. Baron missions continue to deliver the fun! hit level 12.

For me, a bigger issue is the fact I've grown to hate my character. This is why I hate create your character games.

You have to eat food or drink the Swallow potion to get vitality to regen.
