Yeah 1500 is still up for grabs. I actually don't know who the favorite is but we have some Dutchies lined up to get it
Sven backed out. But Mark is the defending champion. And Groothuis in this form can secure another top spot. 1500m is the king's race of speed skating, it would be sour if we won all except for this one, heh.

Sven probably wouldn't have come close though. Mark is old now and I don't know about Groothuis, he's a replacement for a reason. But yeah he IS in shape.

Its wise that Sven chose not to compete, the 1500m is destructive. You have to go full speed for a duration thats 3 times the 500m Sprint. Its the most difficult race.
But Stefan Groothuis took a second off Davis and other top riders at the 1000m. He's probably a favourite.
Not growing fast enough unfortunately. The problem is Canada and US have improved a lot more than other countries have developed. There is a women's league in europe that needs to get better.
There have been times when I thought Canada and US have backed off and just played defense to avoid running up the score against weaker teams. If they have 18-0 blowouts, they know they risk losing the olympics. That would be a real shame.
So close again. That's a tough sport to medal. Germans so good.

Maybe Canada will medal in Women's luge doubles
It doesn't exist.
But there's a relay race tomorrow and Canada should be in the fight for silver.
I wish we had the US's medal count when flopping.

I think Germany made up Luge doubles so they could win more medals.

Women's combined skeleton and luge doubles. I'd watch that.

The doubles luge is actually non-gender specific, so there could have easily been two women or a man and a woman on one of those sleds today.. they're just not heavy enough to get the speeds to qualify.
Figure skating pairs is going on right now, and then womens halfpipe finals in about 45 mins from now.
The team event tomorrow will be a real nail-biter!
Canada should try to get dual moguls in there too

The EPG on my tv says the NOS will go live to hockey. Don't know hothough. and when though
Sport1 shows the hockey games in Germany.
You are on a one-man island there, my bean counting friend.
And championships matter. It's almost as if winning a Cup is the goal in pro hockey or something.
