Men's SBX seeding runs have been cancelled. Will be seeded based on current World Cup standings. #CBCOlympics

Does Canada have a chance at a medal this year?

8th and 9th ranked boarders are Canadian....eh....I'm sure lots of crazy stuff will happen like usual

So If I understand the women's curling standings right...

Canada & Sweden make it in 1st and 2nd respectively...

GB will move on as long as they win or japan loses. If they lose + japan wins it's a tiebreaker.

China/Switzerland whoever wins will move on if japan loses, or a tiebreaker if japan wins.

Japan needs to win to go to a playoff, a loss means they're out

which team lost to the US Women's curling team? They should be ashamed of themselves :p

edit: It was Japan? LOL, they don't deserve to move on

The Olympics is kind of a cruel concept. Only rolls around every four years. So much can go wrong. So many ruined dreams. But then again, that is what makes the Olympics so special.

Fuck that reporter. Jesus christ. Poor Bode.
Good thing I'm not the only one, my family and I were watching and flipped collective shits over that scene. Fucking asshole reporter, no empathy at all.

Really happy he medaled though, guy deserves it. Legend. Man I love skiing.

Deport the us speed skaters

That's obviously the way to do it

Or we could "incent" some skaters to come to the us. There are plenty of nonrussians skating in Russia

Well Heather Richardson is moving to the Netherlands to marry Jorrit Bergsma...

I am now convinced she's a spy. Pulling the long con eh? I'm on to you USA!

It's crazy that in a few hours we'll see live what people in the US will watch at this time tomorrow. CBC was showing Bode yesterday and I noticed he was crying, I thought it was because he finally got bronze/a medal.

American media it seems want to create or become the story rather than report it.

This has been the American standard for a while, wasn't it?

The US women are so dominant over the Swedes. This is hardly a game.

I do enjoy watching the US play weaker teams, since it gives me a chance to cheer for the underdog :3

The only competitive and high-level women's hockey games are those between US and Canada though. And they are soooo intense. :lol

Yep, the last meeting was evenly fought between the US and Canada even if the score has Canada with a win.
I enjoy this game because it is almost 100% the Swedish Women's goalie facing attack after attack by the USA. So much action!

Well that would be a shame now that Norway's ski problems are sorted and victory is all but guaranteed..

They keep saying they still have no idea what's wrong, so who knows. Luckily the skis are fine for the first kms before they deterioate (slush/ice getting caught in the structure?), so they should be fine for the sprint relay anyways, but the 50 km could be ugly.

http://olympics.cbc.ca/videos/video/tessa-virtue-and-scott-moir-finish-sparks-controversy.html

So, the creator of the finnstep (a compulsory dance/pattern dance by which you are graded in ice dancing) is saying the Canadian pair should have scored higher than the Americans. I'm thinking this might lend some credence to the earlier reports of vote swapping by the Russian and American judges.

I don't want to get involved in discussion of conspiracy theories, but I will say that both the CBC commentators as well as Moir and Virtue definitely believed their short program performance here was their best of the season, whereas they were graded about 1.5 points less than their season's best score.

Of course, the judges here could just be grading more strictly across the board, so it doesn't necessarily imply any other agenda.

No one will bat an eyelid when Davis and White win. They haven't lost in two years. So even if the fix is in, there will be no scandal, just canadian media crying.

Domracheva is the queen of the Olympics. On her way to her third straight gold! Best Norwegians over 1 minute behind after two shootings. We're cursed this year.

That Bode interview was some joke.

"When youre looking up at the sky at the start, ...it looks like you're talking to somebody. What's going on there?"

A useless question with an obvious answer.

speedskating suit controversy
I like this story. Americans develop the Mach 39 speed skating suit with Under Armour and Lockheed Martin but don't test it because they were afraid other countries would steal the tech.

Except their tech sucks. Instead of mach 39 it's more like 3.9 mph

LOL @ American paranoia
