Any word on who's carrying the flag for Canada yet?

Defended gold, hard to argue with that. Should have Bilodeau with them too.

Not only defended but came from behind and snatched victory away from the Americans after some poor early runs. The Americans also had their new BMW designed sleds as well too.

Marie-Philip Poulin also made a comeback to defend gold, but I guess we already had a women's hockey player carry the flag the opening ceremony. Anyways, we had lots of great options.

I'm not sure how it all works, but if I were an athlete and my event was early.......I'd want to stick around for the next two weeks.
The problem is flying out when everyone else is trying to fly out after the games are over. It happens every Olympics.

Disappointing Olympics for America. Hopefully our speedskating and hockey teams bother to show up next time.

Yeah, I think it was. If the US gets its act together for 2018, it should be Russia/US fighting for the top. Throw Norway and Canada in the mix and it should be a great games.

Let medals be medals and celebrate the many great performances and achievements we've witnessed. Peace and love.

Although the last medal ceremonies will be held during the closing ceremony itself, as per olympic tradition.

I think the Dutch impressed me the most in these games with their absolute dominance in speed skating. It's amazing what you can achieve as a nation when you get behind something so strongly. And not a single doped-up athlete. Brilliant performance and congrats.

TeamNL delivered like mad on skates but other skating powers should reflect and come back with a different plan next time.

My Canadian olympic emotions...

Thrilled with the mogul golds.
Pissed with Patrick Chan for blowing the gold medal chance.
Excited by the narrow bobsled win.
Annoyed with short trackers for falling on their ass for no reason.
Really happy for Jennifer Jones.
Stunned by the women's hockey comeback.
Proud of men's hockey domination.

There is always an emptiness inside when Olympics end...here's hoping for a great closing ceremony.

I feel this so much. I love the Olympics just because of the sense of activity and togetherness they create for 2 weeks. I'm glad they don't happen more often but it is sad to think that we won't see these people for another 4 years. Well, most of us.

I'm kinda glad it's coming to an end. I need a shit ton of sleep after waking up at 4 am for two weeks straight. I was starting to ge burned out.

Korea will be even worse.

Yeah, when the olympic flame goes out you realize 'Ok, two weeks of living in a bubble void of real life issues, just these pocket-sized human drama stories and all their glorious moments.. over".

Absolutely. For two weeks, everyday there is something special happening. If it happened all the time, well...it wouldn't be special. But it does suck to see it end and start the wait for the next games. But this is also what makes it so sweet when the next Olympics come around.

Ok guys the ceremony is just about to start.

One bonus of these closing ceremonies, though they aren't as spectacular as the opening one, is that we get a number from the next host. So let's see what signals Korea want to send.

Beijing ruined 3 weeks of my life. Brazil will as well but at least the World Cup times are decent.

This Winter Olympics made me realize I don't give a shit about anything but speed skating, so I won't be feeling the void I felt after London 2012 or any Football cup or marathoning a show.

Man, Beijing was though indeed. Almost forgot there will be a World Cup soon; hurray for sports!

I have colleagues in London that took time off to work the games (be runners or whatever) and they said they never felt like London was happier. Must be nice. I was too young to really remember what the US was like when we last hosted it, but I'm pretty far from Salt Lake anyway.

The summer olympics totally are better tho.

Excited Rio is only a couple hours out of EST.

Winter olympics > summer olympics for sure, but both are at their best when I'm thrilled by sports and athletes I don't usually follow. All those stories, all those Hollywood moments.

Time zone-wise Sochi was perfect for me, have not started looking at how Rio spectating will have to be spent.

And NBC will still find a way to tape delay

Hot pot of coffee on, snowing outside, tasty omelette at the ready and the CBC replay of the gold medal game about to start. Life is GOOD
