Indeed it is. And honestly, I can't disagree with Bill.
You think Latinos aren't affected by racism?
On this VERY topic there has always been a subtext that if Zimmerman was called Jorge Zimamos, there wouldn't have been any fuss. And I am inclined to believe it. Meanwhile our congressmen are LITERALLY talking about building a Pacific Rim wall to keep out Tequila Kaiju, while at the same time protecting the businesses that abuse migrant workers.
what is the disease? I can't see how systematic racism is causing many black males from having sex and not using condoms and being around for the eventual child, or black females from using the pills.
not saying it doesn't exist, but is everyone woe that is afflicting black Americans because due to racism? If that's the case, it should also be afflicting latinos as well.
Maybe some Hopsin too.
Of all the relevant political commentators, I feel like O'Reilly has honestly had a pretty sensible take on things since the case first started.
People continue to blame "white people" for why all those problems exist (like Chris Matthews who literally apologized for the entire white race on air), but as we've seen with conservatives blaming Obama/the government/taxes for job outsourcing to China, people would much rather put the blame on someone else than make a genuine effort to fix whatever problem they're currently having.
People not "one" with society aren't in a hard place simply because they've been "kept down." Many of them simply don't want to be assimilated and continuing to blame that squarely on "white people" is missing the issue entirely.

Bill knows a lot about black people, he used to be friends with one.
He used to be a teacher in Florida so he probably knows far more than you think.

He taught at a black school?He used to be a teacher in Florida so he probably knows far more than you think.
your joking right?
I think you've missed the point or maybe don't understand modern institutional racism? "White people" as a group aren't really to blame so much as society and the structures underpinning it in general are. Nobody talking about this stuff is accusing you personally of being a racist or terrible person.
your joking right?
I remember when they blamed rock music. And jazz.
Hmm, what is the connection...
And yo if you want the poors to stop cranking out babies maaaaaaybe offer better sexual health services to these communities.
What the fuck.
Institutionalized racism exists, but institutionalized racism isn't why every unscrupulous minority youth acts the way they do. It also doesn't dictate why every non-minority's actions towards a minority are what they are (or vice versa). However, it seems a brain-meltingly large amount of people would like to believe otherwise and assume it impacts 100% of what goes on.
(Seriously, I can't even make fun of Rachel Jeantel without being called a "racist", even though my reasons for making fun of her have nothing to do with her being black at all.)
Ah, it's RawkHawk of getting-banned-from-the-Zimmerman-trial-thread-for-shitting-it-up-and-also-posting-some-dumb-stuff-on-Youtube fame...
I didn't get banned for saying anything in the Zimmerman thread. I got banned for saying why Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze wasn't a waste of Retro Studios' time.
I agree with him on a couple of things
The breakdown of the nuclear family is a major problem. That 73% number is pretty astounding and it does boil down to some level of personal responsibility to blame. Two parent family would be very beneficial from both a nurturing and economic standpoint and would go a long way in increasing the quality of life for young people.
The entertainment culture has certainly benefited from glamorizing violence, sex, and drugs. It's not much different than the rock culture from the past, but it's definitely a more extreme level of recklessness and anger/ hostility in the message. If the family breaks down, then the young people find new role models to pattern after and in many cases those role models come from entertainment industry. In some cases rap/ hip hop has become like a religion and is the anthem for gang culture.
Lastly, if you can not read/ write very well and can not communicate effectively you will not be able to compete in a competitive workforce. He's right, unless you have some other talent that you can pursue, you will be stuck in low wage unskilled labor jobs with minimal benefits and no way out. If you start selling drugs and serve time then that make your wage earning prospects even more dire.
His point is that all these things start with the children, and unless you give them a solid footing to work with they will fall into the same lifestyle that led their parents there. parents have to teach their children to embrace education to even begin to move forward.

Hm, black people are having too many children?
If only there was some sort of receptacle that could cover the penis and prevent sperm from fertilizing an egg... something to act contrary to conception. Or maybe pills that stop a woman from ovulating... pills that control births.
Wait, I think I've came up with an EVEN BETTER idea. We can just tell people to not have sex!
Problem solved, pack it up, we're done here.
Thank you for introducing me to Tim Wise. Holy crap, this guy is real as fuck.
Plenty of white people have babies before marriage. The stat has to be the same or close for white americans.
Its kind of a backdoor way of saying, stop making babies black people. There are too many of you as it is.
Other things he said made some sense though.

white = .3
hispanic = .5
black = .7
Crack was the culprit, when it hit it hit hard. Destroying families, creating a generation of crack babies. Jobs in the inner city started drying up, GM moved out of South L.A where crack got its start. I lived two blocks from Rick "Freeway" Ross as a kid, in Hoover Crip Gang neighborhood he put in they're hands and that's all it took. Before the epidemic, blacks were progressively moving forwsrd. They started businesses, enrolled in colleges. O'Reilly don't know shit, he's just a loud mouth fool that think he has all answers.

Well, using contraception effectively relies on three things: affordability, accessibility, andwhat is the disease? I can't see how systematic racism is causing many black males from having sex and not using condoms and being around for the eventual child, or black females from using the pills.
