This Bill O'Reilly talking points memo

Not open for further replies.
I remember watching a documentary on the failure of housing projects a while back. One of the major points was that in order to live in the projects, Housing Authority wouldn't let husbands live with their families for some reason or another.

I wonder if that has effected the current situation

Really fucking tired of hoodies being associated with "crime." College campuses the world over are obviously just filled to the brim with criminals.

I honestly thought SOME of what he said was fine. I could understand how people could agree with it without really thinking too hard about it or having empathy. It's actually better than most O'Reilly things that get posted, as I don't fully disagree with every single thing said. He peppers in some things that make sense with a whole heap of bullshit, however. But I guess that's a pretty good method of persuasion.

o'reilly been bigoted for a minute, and preaches to a choir notorious for lacking perspective. these are the same people forwarding 2004 bill cosby rants like SEE ITS ALL THEM, NOT MY PRIVILEGE reductive type shit

Rap is crap >.<

Indeed it is. And honestly, I can't disagree with Bill.

two ignorant juniors dismiss an entire genre out of pocket, likely based on a perception from a handful of radio joints they were exposed to, cool to see in 2013

He used to be a teacher in Florida so he probably knows far more than you think.

as an FL resident this isn't a feather in his cap

Bill is a moron but he has a point about black culture. It's fucking ridiculous that gangster culture was shoved down Americas throat. MTV decided that glorifying bullshit like ODB was a good move instead of a positive black role model. I mean, seriously, it's irresponsible to do so when you know kids are watching. However, there are horrible white influences as well, and I don't believe popular media is at fault for why blacks are in the position they are in.

Lets be real and say why blacks are in the position they are in.

It's white people's fault.

We fucking brought over generations of blacks and owned them. White families made money hand over fist on the back of black labor. I don't think people understand how much money went to white people through slavery. I mean, fuck, think of a successful company and then imagine how successful they would be with no labor costs, or insurance costs or benefit costs. Just pure profit. That's what blacks gave to white families in the south.

Then slavery ended. Guess what happened. Whites shared all that money that was earned with blacks because it was the right thing to do. Well, no. That's not what happened at all. Blacks had to start from ground zero. A whole race of people started with zero money. That's why blacks are where they are right now. When you have no money you have no status, and that goes for blacks and whites. It's almost impossible to move up in social classes. Blacks didn't have the advantage of "old money" that so many white families had. As a white kid, my parents and I started out poor, and were propped up with my grandparents help. My grandparents were propped up by their parents and so on. How many black lives could have been changed if all that wealth the blacks brought to slave owners had been spread to them after slavery ended.

This is why I don't think reparations are ridiculous. It will never happen, but it should.

Who do you think MTV was selling this image to? Poor black kids? Rich white kids? Which of the two would make more sense?

you wanna pick a symbol of MTV "glorifying" and "shoving gangsta culture down people's throats" and you go with big baby jesus? for real?
the dude that bumrushed their awards to say Wu-Tang is for the children?

I don't really know who their target was. I just picked ODB because every time MTV shows anything about rap history they always have that clip of him talking about going to get his welfare check. It was ridiculous and way over the top. I also stated (IMO) that this wasn't to blame why blacks are in the situation they are in. It was just my jab at MTV promoting bullshit which they still do with shit like Teen Mom and Jersey Shore. I just feel that MTV took a medium that had a growing audience and decided to go with promoting the lowest common denominator to grab ratings instead of being responsible and pushing the intelligent and positive side of rap music.

Not really. I'd say what is far more indicative of the current situation is the White flight to the suburbs.

After World War 2, African-Americans, who for the most part lived in rural areas before the war, migrated to the cities en masse. Unfortunately this was also at the time when Whites began moving to the suburbs, taking many of the jobs blacks were seeking, with them. Even worse, a lot of the urban development projects that would have helped the newly migrated blacks failed.

Hence Inner-city poverty zones.

Whites moved to the suburbs because they could afford to. Whites took jobs because whites had old money paying for college educations that blacks couldn't afford. Blacks stayed in inner city projects because its what they could afford. It all boils down to money and the advantages it brings.

Residential segregation also kept blacks out of the suburbs. For decades there were areas where blacks just couldn't buy a home even if they had the money. The only ended in the late 60s or early 70s. Even later in summer areas where community groups kept black people out.

Pretty sure whites moved to the suburbs because they wanted to get away from black people.

You don't even have to say that cause its true.

not all white people are rich.

not all white people are rich.

You didn't have to be. Not back then. You just had to have a steady job, a good family name, and a bank willing to lend you the money.

These days? You need a lot more, but decades ago, America was very kind to the working class white man. Affordable homes, cars, pensions, college for their kids, etc. It might be falling apart now but post 1940s America was booming.

Republicans were a lot different back then, corporations weren't people, but they were taxpayers.

absolutely. i think your post was the most on-point in the thread. unfortunately the economic disadvantage black people were saddled with led to and has been compounded with a "cultural" disadvantage that now manifests itself as a disdain for education and corporate work (speaking in generalities, of course). IMO (saltgrain: as someone who has had almost ZERO interaction with black people in his entire life) nothing short of enormous amounts of money pumped into the black community and a complete, multi-decade, hundred-thousand-man-operated reeducation program will give blacks anything near the equality they want.

You're just as bad as they are by pretending you're superior for not being a Junior. That shit is pretentious as fuck and annoying. I don't get why people do this.

if you notice 2 asinine comments from jr members, it's not uncommon to make the connection - the fact you find that "pretentious as fuck" on the same level as dismissing an entire genre of music says a lot, though.

I'm not "superior" for being here longer/saying more stuff, but if its superiority you choose to read into this: yeah, my post is worth a great deal more than that garbage,

No, but white people had all of the money after slavery ended. Whoever has the money, has control.

Lets play a game. I say two words, you tell me what you see in your head.

Trust fund.

yes, but you do realize a lot more white people immigrated over after slavery ended right?

Did you forget the Irish, Polish, and German immigration of the early 1900s?

Trust fund? I see sons and daughters of celebrities and sport players

Of course non-blacks got put on. You just had to disassociate yourself with Blacks first.

Do you know what? How about people stop trying to analyze this unusual, strange culture of creatures that people should distance themselves from.

I know this may shock some conservative fucks living their sheltered lives. But Black People are PEOPLE. We're not a demographic or a culture. We don't all live in poor backgrounds, we don't all listen to rap music, we don't all embrace 'gangsta culture', we don't all wear hoodies, or wield guns or knives, we don't try and intimidate people, we're not trying to overthrow the white menace. I know it's fucking crazy, but a lot of us have these things called brains, they allow us to make choices about our lives and such.

as a 16 year old UK based black male, I can say from the bottom of my cold black heart. Fuck you Bill O'Reilly and fuck all the other patronizing fucks who listen to his garbage, you people are fucking dinosaurs, clinging to a murder case to preach your backwards fucking views. Thinking you can sit back in your fucking leather chair and tell us how to live our lives, fuck you.

Bill O'Reilly has no point, he is a moron

EDIT: And yeah, some people in this thread. If you're going to dismiss an entire genre like hip-hop, at least have knowledge of it first. Thx

I didn't find myself questioning my racist thoughts until I saw a jackass say all the irrelevant and stupid shit I secretly thought.

So good for you Bill, for making most people realize they don't want to share opinions with you.

Not true it usually due the residents hiding spouses income... I know because I used to do it. Shame but now I am paying it all back via taxes.

I thought it was pretty cute how Bill turned things around to say that the solution is for more enforcement of petty drug offenses and higher criminal penalties against blacks.

This motherfucker.

He's certainly right about the destruction of the black family, but then he dismisses education, ready access to guns, and poverty as if they have nothing to do with any of this. If only black girls would stop fucking and the black kids would wear uniforms at school, everything would be fine!

Who's going to pay for the uniforms.

Yeah this is the only thing Bill got right, I think this is the root of issue as well.

Now that the GOP has taken hilariously worthless steps to integrate the blacks into their ranks its good to see Pappa Bear ramping up the racist shit to compensate.

Its good to know that violence is justified against anyone who fits an incredibly broad stereotype.

Anyway, there's an asian guy down the street from me who I'm sure is an evil ninja. I gotta fight for my freedom. BRB

My Kentucky father in law "sells tubs in the ghetto" so he's an expert on black culture.

He informed my MIL the other day, with dead certainty and anger in his voice, "[black] kids only want to get into sports or become rappers, if they don't then they just become hood [sic] or drug dealers. That's IT. I've SEEN it a million times."

The authority has spoken black folk. Middle-aged white Republicans are that authority.

(he's also a huge Cosmos fan)

How the hell did I miss 'not really'.

Lol. Thats cold, man.

It would be nice if people would be as upset and rally for the all the youths killed in Chicago any given weekend. But I guess since that's just black people killing other black people it isn't as interesting a narrative.

Please stop with this false equivalency fuck shit.

Most of the people who say this dumb shit don't give a single damn about crime in black communities until a black person's death makes national headlines.

This is why you always get banned.

How.is.that.possible?

The baby ratio? Well with lack of education/guidance and access to birth control, sure...the rate is going to be higher.

Another statistic that many don't talk about is how high the percentage of HIV is in within the black community. And that's all tied into the baby issue too.

Would you deny that the media tried to portray this is a white vs black case? Just look at how NBC edited Zimmerman's call to...

And you have no idea how much I care.

So you don't think it's an interesting observation? We had thousands of people marching for the injustice brought against Trayvon Martin.

When was the last time we had thousands march around the country for the injustices brought against the black youths killed in inner cities every single day? Many of these murders result in no one ever being charged with the crime.

I live near Chicago. I see it on the local news EVERY SINGLE DAY.

That is making the rounds. Has GAF discussed this yet?

This is O'Reilly's talking points response to Obama's commentary on the Trayvon Martin verdict. My entire family passed this around today claiming how "on-point" it is and how they are happy someone had the balls to say how things really are. Basically O'Reilly calls out the black community for having too many kids, listening to too much rap music and how all this has contributed to the degeneration of the black family and no black leaders are willing to own up to it. I found the commentary incredibly simplistic and reductive but it seems to have resonated with a lot of white people I know personally.

Your family is racist. Just letting you know.
