This thread is for stupid GAMING questions that don't deserve their own thread

Alright, so I bought Ni No Kuni from that PSN sale yesterday.
It came in two download packs, one 6 gigs, the other 16...
And, the game seems to be working with just the first one downloaded....
Do I need to download that second, or what? Anyone know?

Edit, nevermind. Turns it just looked like it was working. Wasn't really.

Is there a way to show English only posts on WaraWara Plaza on the Wii U? Most of the posts I get shown seem to be in French or German.
I've set my Miiverse to only show English posts but that doesn't seem to have done the trick.

Does anyone know how much Sony and MS get for each 3rd Party game sold on their system ?, whats their cut ?

This was given out by the founder of Onlive so it may not be the most accurate

So $7 per game sold retail, likely a higher cut if sold digitally

so i just downloaded the tlou dlc and after it finished installing I hit the back button, suddenly it said Please wait and then it just vanished and now it seems to be deleted. Did I do anything wrong? The same thing happened with Uncharted 3.

This shit takes ages to download.

is there a way to get my tactics ogre save file from my psp to my vita if i buy the digital version of tactics ogre on my vita?

i've got like 30 hours in TO on my psp and i'd love to pick up where i left off on the vita

I have wondered, since the Dual Shock 4 has a wireless pairing mode, is it actually possible to pair it wirelessly to the PS4? I ask because I also use it as my PC gamepad and it's a bit inconvenient to use a USB cable every time I want to use it with the PS4 :P

Thanks for any answer in advance!

So... is there any difference between the 3DS version of Mighty Switch Force 2 and the Wii U one? I know the graphics are the same unlike HD Edition (and the 3DS version also has 3D and is portable), but is the Wii U one superior in any way like Mighty Switch Force Hyper Drive Edition was? If not, then I guess I'll get the 3DS one.

Got to play some Skyrim before Lent started. It was pretty fun, but now I have a couple of questions:

1) Is the Skyrim Player Guide worth it, or is there an online alternative that's as good or better? It seems like the kind of game that having all the maps/information at your fingertips is really helpful.

2) Is there no way to make the camera auto-track you? I hate having to constantly adjust the camera when I'm climbing cliffs, etc.

Quick question, a friend wants to buy Titanfall in Austria since he will be on vacation there for the next two weeks, would there be any problems activating it on his Origin account in Germany? :o

I know Steam and Origin can be a bit picky with that so if it's not advised I will simply buy a second copy for him :)

My friend is looking into getting the Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 Full Burst Revenge 2 Electric Boogaloo by Shonen Jump™, cause he thinks the game looks cool. I have regular Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 3, can we play together online since it's essentially the same game with the DLC costumes added in?

If I am playing Metal Gear Solid on PSP and I have a save, will that save transfer to PS3?

Not sure about straight psp to vita, but it is possible through a PS3.

As for MGS, it's just like copying from one memory card to another.

On my 360 I can't add some games to My Pins like Conan and Call of Juarez anyone else have this problem?

Can I reset all pins some how? I just want to quick pin access to all the Digital games I bought so I have like 40 pins already, but seems strange I can't add some games. Also I have a movie pin that I can't seem to delete it still shows the artwork from Another Earth but when I try to delete it gives me some error code.

For the longest time I've only had 2GB SD card for my 3ds. It's full.

  1. How do I transfer all the contents to a new card? Is this correct?
  2. What kind of cards should I use?
  3. Can I buy any cheap brand?
  4. I live in europe, where should I order one for cheap?

This is what I know:
Memory Cards Compatible With 3DS

The Nintendo 3DS supports the following SD Card standards:

SD Memory Cards up to 2GB
SDHC Memory Cards between 4GB and 32GB
MiniSD Cards with the use of an SD Card Adapter
MicroSD Cards with the use of an SD Card Adapter

The ign guide is correct. You can just copy all data over to the new card via pc.
I bought mine on amazon. Never bought a no-name sd card because of bad user reviews (they seem to malfunction more often), but any sd or sdhc card should work fine with a 3ds.
Look for fast read/writing speed.

Hi guys

Got a new ps3.

How do I go about transfering everything (mainly saves / account details / psn id/trophies etc..) from my old (2008 80gig fat ps3) to my new 500gig super slim?

I tried looking at the online manual for data transfer utility thing but the deactivation stuff was scaring me off that I wouldnt do something properly.

I have an ethernet cable also.

Can I plug a PS3 controller into one of those wall chargers you get with iPhone so I can charge it in the wall?

Probably. Mini usb is pretty universal. As long as there is power to the connection it should charge no matter what. However, why not just plug it in your computer?

I actually didn't think of that, lol... Thanks!

Oh man, I've had my PS3 through all these years and thought about this NOW! All this waiting for charging the controller because the wire is so short.

Can DS4 controller's be used in any region with any console? For instance can you use a US DS4 with a UK PS4?

Nevermind found the answer in Shu's tweets

need help finding a game that i would enjoy.

games that Iiked:

Witcher 2
skyrim
fallout series
mass effect series
halo series

any recommendations?

Sure is, but you'll need a USB hard drive that can hold all of the stuff you want to bring over. Make sure it's formatted to fat32 format (most external hard drives come preformatted to fat32). Then plug it in to your old ps3 and select backup from the backup/restore option in the system menu.

Once it finishes (it will take a long time) you connect it to your new ps3 and hit restore.

The really important thing to know is that it will bring everything over, games, their install data, saves, etc. so you should definitely delete all the giant install data from games like mgs4 and any installed games you don't want to bring over first, since that will make the backup and restore way faster (and take up less room on the USB hard drive)

Also if you just want saves, just copy those to the hard drive and skip the whole backup/restore thing altogether. Trophies will sync as soon as you put your psn account in. Make sure to deactivate the old ps3 once you're done if you're going to sell it, you can only out your psn ID on like 5 sony systems at once so you'll want to take it off. There's also a function to completely wipe the hard drive that you'll want to do too once you have all your data moved to the new system (again only if you are going to sell the old ps3)

How about the data transfer utility?

I dont have a spare HDD around.

Is it as simple as:
1. Deactivating the 'source' ps3
2. Make sure the 'target' ps3 is updated to latest version
3. Go through the prompts with data transfer utility

and thats it?

Do I need to setup my psn id and all that on my new ps3 before I do the data transfer?

Never used the data transfer utility, I've just used the backup/restore functionality quite a bit. I didn't even know they had a data transfer utility that didn't require having a USB drive of some sort! If you're really just trying to get saves find a USB key and copy them to it just using the xmb. The backup/restore thing is only really worth it if you want to bring all of your installed apps over or skip the install process for your favorite games on the new ps3. Good luck!

Pretty sure that won't work. The backup/restore feature only allows you to restore to the PS3 you backed up originally. Instead you'll need to connect the two PS3s with an Ethernet cable and use the data transfer utility. Make sure to deactivate your accounts on the old PS3 first.

Maaan, I'm driving along in GTA V as Trevor minding my own business, a guy in a construction site has an accident he's trapped in his truck as fire starts to build around him. He is screaming in agony, tells me to get the bulldozer to help moved the giant pipes that are covering/blocking his crushed truck. By the time I get the bulldozer and try to help him, his truck blows up, he screams and burns to death a'la Paul Walker right in front of me. I was so close in helping him but couldn't, now I'm depressed, fuck this game! I feel so defeated and down, this is one of those random pop up side missions.

Anyway to redo it again? (I'm middle of a real mission, do I can't even start that mission over) I really want to cheat the system and have another go at saving this dude's life, otherwise I won't sleep well tonight. Anyone?

This is a stupid gaming question

Would it be stupid to start a thread dedicated to collectible Nintendo stuff. I would love to see what collectors on here have, and I feel like it could be a good place for other Nintendo collectors to talk. It is a wide enough topic that there could be a lot of stuff people could show off.

Feel like I should ask again for the new page.

I'd subscribe to that. I wouldn't have anything to rare contribute but would love to see what other people have

I failed that as well (except as Franklin), it'll re-appear randomly in the same place, just drive past the site every now and then.

Glad I could find this thread.

Back on the Xbox 360, when you bought a game/video/dlc/etc., the license was tied to your specific console. If you got a new Xbox 360, you would have to do a license transfer that you could only do, like, once a year or something.

I may be getting a new Xbox One to replace my current Xbox One. Does the same process apply? Or can you "move the licenses" without going through the transfer process?

I also read something about game saves being tied to your Xbox Live account in the cloud. Has anyone had a chance to verify that this is the case?

Much appreciated.

How come when I hooked my Wii U up to my TV and set it to auto-detect the best format (or whatever you call it) it can use, it automatically went to 1080p? My TV is only 720p, so shouldn't it have auto-set to output in 720p?
