This thread is for stupid GAMING questions that don't deserve their own thread

Can I install my cousin's Halo MCC on my XBO to avoid downloading the whole game and then activate the Halo MCC Digital Code that will come with my XBO?

Also, I just bought Killer Instinct Combo Breaker Pack(the retail one), if I buy the Season 2 I can play the game without using the disc, right? But if I want to play with S1 characters AND S2 do I have to keep my disc on the tray?

For the first question, I am pretty sure these machines treat physical and Digital games separately even though you download the whole thing to the hard drive regardless. It was on PS4, but My brother tried the same thing with a physical copy of Destiny because the download was taking too long and it kept asking for the disc to play it. He had to delete it and download the digital version from his library.

Disney Infinity (1): How does the Wii U version stack up against the PS3? I have both platforms, I could play it on either the Wii U or the PS3. PS3 would have trophies, I'm curious if Wii U has any improvements given it's a slightly later port on a slightly more modern architecture, or if it's much the same.

Dint they make the Wii U one free to download?

So, GAF doesn't load my recent posts any more. Welcome Red Hood >> Your Posts gives me something from two days ago as the most recent post (which is incorrect). I've already tried logging off and on, which in turn cleared all cookies, but after logging on again it still doesn't refresh for me.

Anyone knows what's up?

I've known that happen a couple of times, and it's happening for me at the moment, so I don't think the problem's just on you; something seems to cause the search database to lag behind the actual posting archive. Whenever it's happened in the past it's just Gone Away after a while.

Damn :/

Thank you

I tried to contact someone higher up in the GAF ranks but didn't receive an answer. Likely a temporary glitch. It is a bit annoying isn't it.

Inspired by the "Where's Luigi in early 3D Mario thread": What was the last game where Luigi was just a straight palette swap of Mario?

First game he was different was, I assume, SMB2US. I think he was a palette swap in SMW, though, and from there on I get uncertain.

Interestingly enough Luigi is a palette swap in regular Super Nintendo Super Mario World, but in the Game Boy Advance port he is not a palette swap.

I think that's true of all the Super Mario Advance titles, which is one of the things that got me thinking. Possibly related to the fact that the first Super Mario Advance was a port of SMB2, so they already had the distinct sprite sorted by that point.

What was that game where you're in either a boat or a car or something and its all stormy, then you go above the clouds for a few seconds and a woman who is with you says its beautiful or something then you come down through the clouds and its all stormy again?
Thinking about it, it could have been a movie.

Two questions.

Are Gamescom Conferences open to the public? And is it possible to sell a memory stick with games I've bought off PSN (Freedom Wars, Persona 4 and Dynasty Warriors) without running into any problems?

Sounds like Matrix Revolutions.

1) Those are press conferences, so no.
2) Keep in mind they only work when the associated PSN account is activated on the Vita. So you'd have to sell your account with the games. Not sure if there are any legal problems for that.

Damn, should've guessed. Can't even remember which account I used on the Vita lol, but thanks I'll look into it

That's from one of the Matrix sequels, I think.

In Darkstalkers 3, Felicia's ending references the Happy Happy Joy Joy song from Ren and Stimpy. I know this couldn't be the case originally, so what song does she originally reference?

So, just picked up an extra PS4 as a surprise for my woman. Picked up the Arkham Knight bundle so I can snag a copy of AK basically free of charge in the process.

Few questions regarding multiple PS4's on one network:

She has her own PSN account, I use mine, we should have no issues having 2 PS4s on the same network? Only issues that arise are using the same PSN ID on 2 PS4s? (just set 1 to primary?)

Also:

I looked through the AK Bundle (not the special edition PS4) announcement thread, saw someone say it's a physical copy because on the front of the box it shows it includes the disc but besides that I can't find 100% official confirmation on any Sony/PS site (unless I'm dumb). Is this true? I was sure it was a physical copy, then the GameStop employees said no, but I'm 99% it looks like it is (love me some physical copies for my collection).

Don't know about the AK disc, but you should have no issues with your PS4s as long as your internet connection and router can handle them both.

Pokemon Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire?

There's an entire Kotaku article trying to help identify the differences and I still don't get it all.

If it helps I haven't played Pokemon since leafgreen and firered so I'm a bit out of the loop

Also is it all worth it to play both? Or rather how much more do you get out of playing the second one?

I got both in the Best Buy 3DS sale but I mean to trade one in to save money.

I saw another poster post this and now I kind of want to just keep Alpha Sapphire because that looks awesome but well that's probably silly.

The only real difference that matters is the available legendaries you can catch natively in the game (since the villains have similar writing), OR has different ones than AS and I would keep the version that has the ones you like more. But if you don't care about the legendaries, it's basically the same game in either version with less than a dozen pokemon being version exclusive.

With the advent of wifi trading, the pokemon exclusivity between versions is barely an issue these days.

Cool. Think I'll just keep Alpha Sapphire after having looked through the legendaries

Thanks!

Is there any point in buying the physical version of PC games when they're more expensive, and you just have to put the CD key into Steam and play it through Steam anyway ? Was going to pick up Arkham Asylum (own the physical of Arkham City)

Only if it comes with physical goods that you want or could resell to recoup the cost. If you mean it comes with a disc to install it but you still have to put the code in through Steam that can be a benefit if you have slow download speeds or caps on internet with your provider.

Those are the only reasons I could figure.

Is Destiny worth going back to after not playing it since two months after it came out? Got the urge to play it since the house of wolves dlc came out and recent let's play videos. Did they fix the issues that plagued the game when it first came out?

Yes. It's awesome give it another try!

For some it could depend on the size of the download. It would take forever to download 50gb of data on an crappy connection as apposed to ploping in the disc and waiting minutes.

Did the MW2 servers go down for the PS3? I haven't played in like a year and just put it in but there don't seem to be any players online.

Google on how to open your specific router model's NAT, then make sure it says that your routers NAT setting is open on the mw2 multiplayer home menu (happens automatically after opening it through your routers settings), and you will have no trouble finding games.
