This thread is for stupid GAMING questions that don't deserve their own thread

I am looking to buying a larger capacity HD for my PS4. The only thing I really want to hang onto right now is my copy of P.T. So my question is, is there anyway I can transfer P.T. to the new hard drive in a playable state and if so can someone point me towards how to go about doing it? :)

I'm in same position. All answers so far point to 'no'

Would be glad to be proven wrong. Please someone... Is there a way??

I thought if you backed up your entire HDD (including the PT install) onto another drive, then then remove the old HDD, install the new one, then restore the backup onto the new drive, you'd still be able to play P.T. You may need to deactivate the PS4 as primary and then reactivate it when the new HDD is in (I think).

There's a YouTube video that shows a detailed step by step on how to transfer and save PT, I have done it

I think It's called transfer ps4 hard drive with PT

Just out of curiosity, does Nintendo translate from English to other languages like French, German... or do they directly translate from the Japanese text?

I know it doesn't have multiplayer, but does AC: Rogue have any online components at all? I'm thinking like the way single-player AC4 had 'reports of the white whale' from your friends list, and the ship missions with the integration with the tablet app.

I got the Xbox one yesterday and would like to know if I can download a game I just purchased while I'm away from the Xbox. Is there some way to download a game from the website or the iPhone app?

If your Xbox is on standby/Instant-on mode, then you can purchase games via the website or smartglass app and the Xbox will begin the download. I do it all the time, by the time I get home, I should have the new games with gold game on my XB1.

I've searched here and the internets as a whole but no good (definitive) information has been found.

Where can I purchase a GOOD Dualshock 4 replacement battery? Any link to a specific item would be great.

I'm seeing many places saying to stay away from Ebay, Amazon, etc. I'd like a bigger than standard mah (1k +) battery however I'd be happy with a NEW standard (1k) one as well.

If anyone has experience replacing these batteries please just point me to where you purchased yours. I'd be eternally grateful!

Why the hell did I decide to play Dying Light, Just Cause 3 and Fallout 4 at the same time? Open world overdose. Pass me the smelling salts, I'm feeling faint.

Is this to give the controllers bigger batteries than they ship with (not just replacing a faulty battery)? If so, I'd love to hear an answer to this as well.

Yeah the standard is a 1000 mah battery, I've seen up to 2k mah but I'm not sure which batteries are legit. People post around that the ones from ebay aren't any good. I just need a good source for the batteries.

Bought an external hdd during black friday. WiiU and Xbox One can use them, right? Can I use it for WiiU and then unplug it and use for Xbox One when I need to? I hope I don't have to buy two of them.

You might need to partition the drive, because I think those things get formatted every time they're hooked into a new console.

If I buy a new PS3, how many of the Tales of games can I buy from the playstation store?

I'm in Mexico, does that change the answer?

Pretty sure all of the English PS3 Tales games are available on the US store. So: Graces f, Symphonia Chronicles (Symphonia1+2), Xillia, Xillia 2 and Zestiria.
I don't know if the selection is different in Mexico.

I don't think any of the PSX or PS2 Tales games are available, though.

I have a XBOX 360 with a non functioning disc drive so am having to go download only. It was given to me as a fitness tool along with a Kinect and all the kinect games I want to buy bar Dance Central 2 are only available to download on the Microsoft store for mostly silly places.

What are my options for getting the games cheap digitally here in the UK? Are there currently any working tricks for getting credit or buying games from other countries or anything of that sort?

Regarding A Link Between Worlds
I made it to Lorule and found a couple of cracks to go to Hyrule, but I don't really understand what to do next (Hilda said I needed to find a way to Hyrule first IIRC). I found that I can enter the Thieves' Hideout, but I couldn't progress further. Should I be able to enter dungeons, or do I have something else to do first?

You basically have to find a way to get to each area in Lorule from Hyrule via the cracks. Then you can do the dungeons in any order, assuming you have the proper item on hand.

Fallout 4 difficulty question, I want to be able to explore and not be either a god right away or a fly that a human can kill in two shots (Compared to my 10), what difficulty would you folks recommend?

I want sort of realistic wherein I cant just do what I like, but if I do something sensible I shouldnt be punished unduly because the enemies are unapproachable.

i dont know how "stupid" this question is

but how good was Front Mission 5: Scars of the War....im sad it never came to the west

A lot of people say it's the best. Might be because it's the one we didn't get, might be legitimately the best, I don't know. There is a translation patch, so you can see for yourself if you feel so inclined.

Pretty sure this would turn into a console war thread if I made it but what would Remedy Entertainment be considered? Would they be a tight second party studio for Microsoft now kinda like Quantic Dream with Sony? Cuz the first two Max Payne's were multi-plat and then they hooked up with MS and now their last 3 main projects have been MS focused. Idk was just kinda wondering cuz I can't really think of many studios that went from multi 3rd party to somewhat exclusive 2nd party. It's just a weird spot when thinking about their future projects.

I wonder if someone could help me with something. I have a wireless xbox360 controller which i use to play pc games. I have ever only used it to play Ori and The Blind Forest and had no problems with it.

Since then, i have upgraded to Windows 10 and i thought i'd set things up again for when the definitive edition of Ori comes out.

Since it's been quite a long time, i wonder: once the controller finds the wireless receiver, should the green light around the big X button on the controller stay at the same position forever? Mine stays at that fixed position for about 30 seconds, then does that circular movement thing for a few seconds, then fixed again for 30 seconds and so on. Is that normal?

Also, when playing Ori, the controller turns off completely. But it does that only when i'm in the game and not while i'm navigating the menu or when i am in windows.

I would be grateful for any tips here since i don't use this controller often. The first thing i thought were the batteries but iirc, this is a new set that i bought when i put the controller away.

Hi all.

Just wondering if you can move games from a SSD to a HDD without deleting and then installing again. Windows 10.

Also does anybody have any decent tutorials about PC graphic settings and what they do. What's the difference between the txaa and smaa or whatever lol. How about FOV and other such stuff. I would like to set up my own graphic settings but don't really know what I'm doing.

Thanks a lot.

Yes.You'll have to point the shortcuts in the right direction again though, or just create new ones. If they save any settings to the registry or have DRM, there might be complications.

For Steam games:

If you're not touching the system drive, your saves will be fine. If you do, you'll have to migrate them as well:.

A quick google of "graphics setting explained" yielded this:

Looks decent at first glance.
Second result is pretty verbose:

Tried asking in related thread but no one answered so I'll ask here.

Does Dualshock 4 work reliably on Windows 10 now?
Is there some preferred Bluetooth Dongle that doesn't drop connection/works the best?
Or should I prepare myself to use Xbox One controller when Dark Souls 3 comes?

Thank you.

My brother bought a PS4 in Australia and brought it back home to cold Denmark and now he needs a new power cable, which I agreed to find for him.

I dug up a power cable on which it says "2,5A 250V". Could that be used for a PS4 or do I need a thicker cable?

I don't know if this will help but if you have old PS2/PS3 slim, they all use the same cable and can be used with PS4.

This image, representing weapon rarity, cropped up in the The Division alpha thread:

TCTD_Rarity.jpg

As a WoW player, I immediately found that colour scheme and naming convention extremely familiar; it's exactly the same as the rarity sequence used throughout WoW.

That got me thinking: That scheme has become something nearing a standard now; Borderlands uses basically the same scheme, but extends it at the top end with multiple levels of Legendary and 'Pearlescent' above that. Torchlight is the same at the bottom end, but purple is used for 'set' while orange is 'Unique'. Going further Diablo 1 is very simple, only really having 'Normal' (white) and 'Unique' (blue). Diablo 2... I can't quite get my head around, but I *think* from the wiki I'm looking at it's a very different colour progression for quality than the later games.

So there seems to, now, be something approximating a standard - but is WoW the first game to establish that particular colour sequence, with other games aping it, or is there another game prior that really set out the system? What did Everquest do? That strikes me as the most likely originator if it's not WoW.

If I set my Wii U to 720p, will 1080p games render at 720p?
No. That option (on all consoles, btw) is purely about image scaling. If you have a 1080p TV you'll just be telling it to up-scale the Wii Us now 720p output to the TVs native resolution. Image quality will probably be worse, too.

How does PS+ actually work for the developers?

A 12 month PSN card costs £35-40, so let's just say that Sony take around £24 of that after taxes & retail cuts. That's £2 a month... Is that £2 a month split between the developers of the six games (Vita/PS3/PS4) and Sony, and if so, surely developers (especially from new games) can't be making much from it?

Thanks, good to know. I imagine downscaling would be less severe.

What are good cross play games between vita and ps3 /ps4?

Anything good besides Helldivers?

Won't get my consoles back for a month or two and I want to play something with my (vitaless) buddies.

Any lists I find online are poorly curated and contain games I 100% know don't support it like spelunky and minecraft.

i recently started digging for some decent 3ds games and Persona Q constantly comes up. i really like SMT, and i've played and enjoyed a bit of the first Persona buttt it seems like it got.. a lot less serious since they've switched from kazuma kaneko? i'm not a huge fan of long cutscenes/extended dialogue, i'm not really interested in going to virtual school or hookin' up either. Q seems to have a different vibe.. is this dungeon-y enough or should i avoid it?

It is Etrian Odyssey but with a Persona 3 and 4 cross-over plot and the typical SMT systems.

This is probably stupid but... An Xbox 360 adapter for Windows won't work with an Xbox One controller, right?

No, but if you don't mind being wired you can use a standard USB to micro USB cable to connect the Xbox One pad to your PC. Official drivers should auto download then, if not they are on the Microsoft site.
