This thread is for stupid GAMING questions that don't deserve their own thread

All digital games. Can't launch a single digital game, but I can browse the store, see people online, etc.

what if you disconnect from the internet? that fixed the issue Xbox games had when that big DRM conversation started.
on Xbox it was basically a miscommunication error between the system and the servers, but in offline mode that DRM check didn't happen and the issue was not there anymore

Do you remember what happen if you were using multiple consoles with a family account?

This issue is fixed now. It was literally waiting it out that fixed it. I didn't even have to verify licenses. I disconnected earlier and it didn't change. We have two PS5's and the other PS5 I have set as a sharing console because my family can play my library while I'm signed into my console. It's called "Console Sharing and Offline Play". You can only have one of these turned on. It disables it on the other console your logged into. My big guess is that since my PS5 did not have that setting enabled, that it couldn't validate my licenses, so games couldn't launch. Which doesn't explain why it didn't see their servers. My IP was fine, connecting to the store was fine, etc.

Theoretically, next time this happens, having this setting enabled should prevent my digital library from being unplayable. It just can't validate. I have to wonder if they've got these console provisioning somewhere in the cloud and whatever's hosting them isn't speaking to the console or isn't going where it should. Perhaps a DNS issue?

For UK GAF:

Is an 6600 XT for £170 a good deal? I've also found an 3070 ti for £250, which is the largest card I can fit into this new mini itx build. I feel like the 3070 ti is the better overall deal of the 2? But I really only need this small machine for a dedicated Assetto Corsa/sim racing rig. Currently using the AMD 5600g's built in GPU, which is doing ok-ish at 1080p mid to low settings (in Assetto Corsa).

Apologies for the stupid question!

Apologies for the stupid question!

I mean a 3070ti is a whole level above the 6600XT, and most likely slightly more future proof thanks to DLSS.
both are 8GB cards, so not much difference there.

if you plan to play Forza 8 later this year, the 3070ti should be the better card by far. better RT, DLSS, along with better raster performance.

Hey thanks for that. I tried to get the 3070ti but pretty sure it was a scam. The guy selling the 6600xt is genuine and I've been talking to him for a bit on marketplace, so unless I can find a 3070ti for a really good price then I'll nab his 6600xt. Hopefully won't regret it lol. Cheers

Google has gone down the shitter, so I cant find the answer to this (what I assumed to be a simple) question.

Are cheat codes available for Minecraft on PS5?

My son want's to play with his friends, kids who use cheats to have a good time etc. Can he join them on PS5 or are cheat codes not available on console?

Never touched MC myself, so I'm super clueless...

Need help, guys. I can't seem to find a legendary YouTube video of Crysis I used to watch all the time, definitely more than 10 years old but if I'm not mistaken I also saw it here once, about 4 or 5 years ago.

The video was an extremely relaxing graphics showcase, focused especially on water at dusk, this OST in the background:

Was truly phenomenal, and widespread enough some of you might remember it. 🙏

Can anyone tell me something about PSN? I'm wondering, if I play say FF IX with my discs on the Ps3 and save my game, is that save then compatible with the PSN FF IX if I choose later to download it? Also if I transfer the game to PSP, can I also transfer that same save as well?
I dont know but what I do knowaa is that today I get with my friend to continue ffix and my PlayStation just disappeared with our last save.....we lost 7h of gameplay ....

I see that Rise of the Ronin is 30 bucks at Walmart for BF - I'm thinking about biting, I remember reading many good things here. 20 is usually my "unsure of and completely unresearched" purchase price point, but eh. Thoughts anyone?

Hello. I am interested in Baldur's Gate 3 on PlayStation 5 and I appreciate any help you can give me.

Are there difficulty settings or sliders? If so, what type?

What type of movement system do characters use? Is it real time, dynamic input movement? Or point and click movement? I will be using a PS5 controller.

Are there cheats or mods available?

Thank you in advance!

Not sure if this will get an answer, but I'll try.

I have a Seagate external hard drive for my PS4 - I've been using it for a couple years withotu issues. But recently I can't use it anymore, I get a message saying ce-41902-6 error. Is there any way to fix that? Do I have to format it? And if so can I do it from the PS4?

Edit: for context, the USB port is working properly as I can insert a USB drive into without issues, and I have the latest system update installed.

Yes, there are difficulty levels.

The game has recently added mod support on console but I haven't touched it personally since last year so have absolutely no idea what kind of mods there are. If it's anything like the Skyrim / Fallout mod scene, you'll probably find a good number of cheat mods there too.

The game plays turn based combat. Outside of combat it's free control but in combat you have to abide by turns.

Guys what was that newly released program that allowed you to have a scalable CRT window overlayed on any program? It was newly released but I cant remember it anymore

Nvm found it its Shaderglass

I have a 4K TV where all the hdr, vrr, and 120hz is tied to only one hdmi slot being able to do it. The "gaming" labeled one from Samsung on this Samsung tv.

Currently only my ps5 uses it.

Is there a device that would allow me to hook up a potential splitter that lets me plug in the switch 2 and ps5 hdmi cables on one end, and then one cable to the tv? It would allow both to get gaming hdmi slot benefits depending on which one I turn on?

Amazing splitters are all poorly reviewed and I'm not sure what I should get?

there are 4k 120hz HDR VRR TVs from Samsung that only have 1 HDMI 2.1 port? that's surprising to see.
is it a low end entry model?

as far as Splitters go, I think FeinTech has a decent one that supports 4k 120hz HDR.

This Samsung tv has to be over 5 years old now so likely an early model when 2.1 became a thing.

could be.

so, the best low cost one is the FeinTech VSW12100.

FeinTech is a company that's usually pretty high quality (german company, that does specialise in HDMI and audio stuff)

it's about 30 bucks here in germany

edit: but now I wonder. do the other ports not support HDR and 120hz at all?
because the Switch 2 only does 4k 60hz and 1440p 120hz. that's something my old Samsung HDMI 2.0 TV could already do tbh.

can yours not do HDR at all on the other ports?
Like this?

Like this?

I think that one does the opposite. it takes 1 input and spreads it to 2 screens.

I'll have to look but I think it's only that one port.

So I need a 2 in 1 out?

You're a legend.

Will buy this week on payday to enjoy some switch 2 in my living room at last.

no problem.

but you're sure the other ports don't support 4k 60hz HDR? I'd try it, just to be sure. if you have to test 1440p 120hz, download the Street Fighter 6 demo, which forces 120hz if the TV supports it and the console is set to automatic.

I'll check before purchase to see.

My Samsung TV is the same with only one 2.1 port.

I used this splitter for my PS5 and Series X to start and then my PC after I sold the Xbox - worked really well with no issues.

I stopped using it and have my PC in the 2.1 port now but the TV never recognises a HDR signal from it......:messenger_confounded:

which role in a studio creative team is in charge of choreographing/directing these flashy combat animations?

A few years ago there was a 5-10 minute trailer of a mmo game with kids or animals riding skateboards and stuff like that. Anyone remember the game I'm talking about? It was very vivid and colorful and the trailer just kept on going and going.
