I wouldn't worry about not being able to find Catherine, it has sold a pretty healthy amount. Games can still become relatively rare though, but not either of those I don't think.

But people are having a hard time finding El Shaddai...this may force my hand. The annoying part about this is that I have no intention of keeping it. I'm not a collector, I just want to play it while I can.
 
I have two questions.

1) What's the best DBZ fighting game on PS3?

2) What are some good PS3 games available on the PSN (they can be regular retail games that are also available on the PSN, like Burnout Paradise) that have online co-op?
 
I was thinking about this today. What the fuck is going to happen on NeoGAF when Episode 3 is given a release date? It's too much mindfuck to handle.

Same thing that happened when DNF got handed a release date, I assume.
 
So I'm replaying an old PS1 game and want to mess around in my old save. I have a PS3 mem card adapter and, well, it won't work. When I go into the memory card utility, the card in the adapter doesn't appear. Worse yet, when I leave that part of the menu with the card still plugged in, I can no longer control the PS3. It doesn't look frozen, because information still scrolls the the corner of my screen and my game icons are still animated.

Is this a compatibility issue with the card itself, my firmware/ps3, or is my adapter broken?
 
I'm about to buy a 2nd PS3 for the man cave.
Any notable PSN games/dlc that cannot be shared to the new system?
Also, any must have lan games, preferably with co-op play? (Me and my son like all types of games).

PSP Go has internal memory, but the other models rely on external memory. Hardware bundles come with a memory stick (and one or two games), but the hardware-only pack doesn't seem to :\

I don't believe the LCD screen will physically fit onto the original model Playstation. There is not a way to plug it in without modding the LCD screen or the console.
 
So I hear a lot of talk about Temple of Elemental Evil having one of the best combat systems in western RPG history... I haven't really investigated beyond the hood, but anybody want to give me a quick rundown for reasons for this? All the videos I seen just made it look like Infinity Engine titles with better animation.
 
Are there any rpgs where there is a party character that uses a gun but has the ability to change ammo types? I mean I know ME has this, but are there others? I know there are characters that use guns but I don't think I've ever seen there be a game besides ME where you can change the ammo type to something like fire/ice/wind/etc bullets.
 
anyone know where i could find a text dump or list of every blurb from resident evil when you search the environments?
like you hit x in front of a shelf and get "nothing of interest here.." etc

FF8 kinda does this with the character Irvine, but you can only change ammo during his Limit Break. And even then, you're on a time limit.
 
So..about the Devil may Cry timeline and Nero.

If I am not mistaken Kobayashi said DMC4 is 10 years after DMC3 and a year after DMC1. ,Vergil was like 19 or 20 max when he went to hell in DMC3,but Nero is like 19 years old ( or even more) in DMC4.

So now, Did Vergil had underage sex with some woman when he was 10 years old or his half demon half angel(yeah I am using this as canon from now on) super semen can get the baby to grow crazy fast like a chicken?
 
How come I can't use voice recognition on my Kinect because I'm in EU/Sweden? I can understand that it doesn't recognize Swedish, but you'd be hard pressed to find a Swede who don't know any English in this day and age. Changing my locale and console language doesn't seem to help. I want to say Xbox Bing, damnit :(

IIRC English voice recognition do not work outside of the US and UK ( and Canada lolz), The workaround I believe, Sign out of live and change your location to US or UK (and stay offline).
 
is there any scene for a viable PSP emulator, or perhaps later down the road? i love the little thing, but id really dig playing stuff like Persona 1-3 (new one) on a big screen or monitor of my choice.

Can't you just get a TV-out cable for the PSP?
 
Concerning PC games-

Does having depth of field on or off grant you better performance in the end?
I would assume having it on would, as it would obscure details your computer wouldn't have to fully render, but perhaps it is just applying a filter on top of the details, adding more strain to the computer?
 
Did Microsoft stop deleting old Xbox gamertags? Cause there was a certain one I was looking at but it has been used on the OG Xbox Live.

Off gives you better performance. Everything that it blurs is still rendered, depth of field is an extra post process on top of that.
 
Does anyone know when E3 2012 will be, or at least when we'll know the date?

Trying to plan a trip and would be nice to plan it so I'm in LA on the date.
 
I'm getting Deus Ex Human Revolution on Tuesday and it will be the first Deus Ex game I've ever played. What's a good resource for reading/catching up on the story?

This error comes up when I try loading HL2 from steam and I don't know why, it always worked :[

Tried uninstall and then re-install the game but it doesn't fix the problem...what should I do gaf?
 
I ordered a used Guncon 2 a few weeks ago from Amazon. I had to buy a y-splitter to hook it up (it didn't come with any other cords)... and it just won't work. The PS2 senses the Guncon and I can fire it, but when I try to calibrate it, no matter how still I hold it, the reticule jumps all over the screen left and right, mostly along the x-axis. It's unusable.

What's going on here? Is it because I don't have the official y-splitter (I have no idea where the hell I would find one of those)? I can't figure this out, and I need to know if the unit itself is the problem so I can send it back soon.
 
So after the PSN fiasco i had to change my password and now i cant remember it.

Everytime i click on "Forget Password" over at Playstation.com or granturimo.com i just get Server Maintenance or something, what else can i do? im getting desperate here! i really want to play some Gran Turismo 5 remote play.

I don't think this is a stupid question but I'll leave that for you GAFers to decide.

My question is regarding Final Fantasy IX:

Bought the game shortly after it was released for the PS1. Played it endlessly up to a certain point. As most of you guys know, the game has 4 discs. I finished disc 1 fairly quickly (about 8 hours) and inserted disc 2 since I couldn't get enough. I want to use spoiler tags since I obviously do not want to ruin this awesome story for anybody who hasn't played it yet. I'm basicly explaining the point where my problem starts.

Right after you insert disc 2
you play with Garnett and Steiner and meet Marcus who has to travel to Treno to save his ''Bro'' Blank who got petrified in Evil Forest. The three of you hop on the same train to Alexandrian territory and some small talk starts, Marcus and Garnett do some talking when suddenly the train stops. The conductor walks out and runs back in screaming about some wizard with a pointy hat. Garnett and Steiner look at eachother and know what time it is. They walk out with Marcus behind them and there's Black Waltz no. 3. This motherfucker is the guy that was supposedly dead but apparently still alive. Anyway, you gotta beat him.

Right when this battle starts, my game freezes. All the FF games have the same intro to a battle, they start the music, show the environment and your opponents plus yourself appear. However, the opponent and my characters do not appear, and the game completely freezes. I was about 12-13 when I was at this point so I was not a gaming expert whatsoever. I still tried to reboot about 100 times, cleaned my disc with almost everything that people recommended me. Still didn't work. (One thing that should be noted is that on several occasions, I left my Playstation on when it froze. One time, after leaving it on for several hours, I could finish the battle, but then it would freeze again as soon as I got into another battle)

After that, one of my friends told me that he could help me. I borrowed his disc 2+3 and copied one of his save games on disc 3 because maybe it was only that particular point that gave me the problem. We tried all kinds of different combinations of his save games/my discs. Nothing worked. A couple years after that I did some internet research and read some stuff about PS1 laser problems, so I borrowed my friends' PS2, played through the game again, and it froze at the exact same spot.

So recently, like one week ago. Me and my friend booted up his PS3, started a new game with my discs (and the discs barely have any damage). We played up till the exact point where it froze on my PS1 and PS2 and unfortunately it froze on his PS3 as well.

Basically, my game always froze at that exact spot, despite me trying to use other people's discs (on my playstation) or using other machines to play my discs.

So here we are, absolutely clueless on how to solve this problem and hoping for someone to help us out.
