This thread is for stupid GAMING questions that don't deserve their own thread

Hey guys, i am trying to play Bang Bang Racing on PC. But there is a problem. Its an Xbox 360 port i think because of the menu stuff. It says press select button on the fucking menu and i pressed every fucking button on the keyboard but it doesn't seem to work. What might be the problem? Is there something you might suggest? I googled it to reach to nothing. Thanks.

I went to take a usb drive out of the front of my PS3 and I got a shock. As soon as that happened the screen went black and now the system video won't show up through HDMI or the Red, White, yellow a/v cables. Anyone hear of this and was it fixable or has my launch 60gb system died...:(

I already have regular Red Dead Redemption, I've played a few hours of it and I like it. Is it worth getting the GOTY edition one and just giving the regular one to my brother or should I keep what I've got and just get the Zombie disc separately?

Basically are the other things in the GOTY one any good if I'm not interested in multiplayer? Any cool costumes, any bonus items or something that are helpful?

Cheers.

You'll get the Explosive Rifle and Tomahawks in singleplayer from some of the multiplayer DLCs, otherwise it's just multiplayer stuff. There are extra outfits but I think they're pre-order bonuses released as free DLC.
I'd still recommend the GOTY if it's not much more expensive, the two extra weapons are hilarious in the right situations.

Do you have a game controller plugged into your PC? Sometimes games will force gamepad controls if one is plugged in.

Never heard something like that with a PS3 but have you tried to reset the video output of the console?

Keep pressing the power botton till you hear a second bip and let go off the botton. The video output will reset and you will hopefully get the image back.

I've been toying with the idea of going back to Pokémon after not touching it since the very early days.

Assuming (possibly wrongly, I'll have to check!) that my save data is still intact in my archaic Pokémon Blue cartridge...:

Can I get the data from that to Heart Gold/Soul Silver?
Can I get the data from *either* Blue *or* HG/SS into Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald?

HG/SS to R/S/E is the most intriguing one, given that that's a *predecessor* which was released *later*.

I do have quite a bit of old tech knocking about; I can run any of these on their native hardware if necessary... indeed, I'd have to run Blue on at least my GBA.

Nope. There's no way to get Pokemon from the GameBoy games to the DS games. GBA to DS is the only possibility. Fire Red and Leaf Green were released so that Red and Blue Pokemon were available in GBA form (also to make more money but that's another story) since you couldn't transfer from the GameBoy games to the GBA games.

I recently got myself a PS3 and as I'm really into open world games, but played nearly every notable title, I looked out for PS3 exclusives and stumbled upon Yakuza 4.
How much open world is this game? Can you own an apartment?

Is there some sort of program to download that will allow me to play old LucasArts games (specifically Full Throttle, like the actual hard copy of the game) through Windows 7 on my new laptop?

how the hell was anyone supposed to know where to go and what to explode in the first zelda, also how the hell was i supposed to know to power bomb that glass tunnel in super metroid?!

You walk around and try things. Sometimes you get hints from other characters.

, also how the hell was i supposed to know to power bomb that glass tunnel in super metroid?!
I think that was optional, wasn't it? But it's such a special place that most players would probably try different things here. I know I found it out back in the day.

I pre-ordered AC3(my first pre-order hence why this question is neccesary)

How often to pre-orders come day one when free shipping is selected? I'm getting mixed messages.

Bored at work. Thinking about games as usual.

I want to clean up my list of games on steam. I know you can delete the content of a game from your drive but can you remove a game entirely from your list? Give up ownership to not have it in the list or even just hide it in some way. I have many games where I wish I looked at some videos first as I found them terrible.

As far as I'm aware making a category then minimizing it is my only option but I could be wrong? Hopefully

I don't think you can remove a game permanently, but if you switch to only display the games you have installed at the moment the list will become more manageable.

If I have enough MS points for a 20 dollar game on Games on Demand, which RPG should I get? It should preferrably be exclusive to the system because I've played a lot of cross-platform RPGs on PC. I prioritise a good battle system with customisation. JRPGs are welcome too.

Are all games available on the Games on Demand service? The list of exclusive RPGs for the 360 isn't that long. You have:
• Blue Dragon
• Crimson Alliance
• Fable II
• Infinite Undiscovery
• Kingdom Under Fire: Circle of Doom
• Lost Odyssey
• MagnaCarta II
• Operation Darkness

If you like Dragon Quest, try Blue Dragon. If you like Final Fantasy, try Lost Odyssey. None of the other games have been well received by the audience. Crimson Alliance and Kingdom Under Fire: Circle of Doom are hack-and-slash RPGs. Infinite Undiscovery is like a single player World of Warcraft or Final Fantasy XII. Operation Darkness should be awesome since it contains both Nazis and werewolves, but I haven't heard of anyone actually liking it.

I couldn't find a thread about Origin so I'm asking here instead! I bought a couple of games on Origin today since they were having a sale.

I'm using a pretty small SSD as my system drive and a bigger drive for storing games on, and I'm trying to change the Origin install directory to that drive instead. How would I do this with Origin? It was pretty easy with steam, I just moved the steam directory over from C: to D: if I remembere correctly.

Thanks in advance!

EDIT - googled around a little bit and found out that you have to edit the settings.xml XML file to change install directory due to EA being stupid. If anybody has the same problem, change the line <Setting key="DownloadInPlaceDir" bla bla bla.

What about Tales of Vesperia? While it's technically not platform-exclusive, it pretty much effectively is for most western players; that and also it's both pretty good and not particularly overpriced on Games on Demand.

Edit: There's also a demo to give you a feel for it. Although I seem to remember hearing that the demo is rather hard compared to the game (and, for that matter, if it's where I think it is, the demo boss is also the first really tough boss in the actual game, too!)

I'll check that game out. I looked around and it seems Games on Demand doesn't support multi-disc games, and the only two remotely in my sphere of interest ended up being that SEGA RPG with guns (R-something?) and the mentioned Tales of Vesperia. Will check the demo and decide afterwards, thanks.

Did I have some crazy convincing dream or did Reggie throw in the towel and act all mopey afterwords?

Actually after I typed it, it sounds ridiculous but.. maybe it's true. Help me!

i can have the same account on two vitas?

YES
the activation limit for a account on handled devices is 2.

You PSN account can be activated on 2 vitas ... Psp activated do count in ..
Meaning you can't have 2 vita & a psp activated on a account
Or 2 psp & a vita activated

Hi. I've been playing Fallout 2 for the past few days and I just came across what I think is maybe a glitch.

So, I decided to barter with someone in the Den to make some money. I put some beer in her inventory and she offered around 50 dollars. I say "make offer" and the items automatically go into her inventory but I don't get the money. Is there a reason this is happening?

I bought the game Splinter Cell HD Trilogy for PS3, and I've read the patch for invertedc camera was released months ago. My question is, do I need to be connected to the internet to download the patch? When I first popped the game in, there was a lengthy installation, but no patch that came with the game I suppose.

Do you normally have to be online to download patches?

Well...how else would you download something?

So I rented the jax hd collection awhile back. And I noticed there was no option to back out of one game to the main screen and chose another one. Was there really no option or do you have to quit and restart the game to pick one of the others?

Most HD collections (Jak included) require you to completely quit out to the system menu, start the game up, and reselect the game within the game menu. One of the only HD collections that allows you to back out directly to the game menu is Metal Gear Solid HD Collection. It's annoying, but I don't have a huge problem with it because I'm rarely switching between collection games rapidly on the fly.

Does the camera feel weird in Prince of Persia Trilogy HD? I bought Beyond Good & Evil HD on PSN, and I don't want to get burned again on a janky sloppy PC port camera.

Why wasn't Singularity more popular? It was a good game.
The market for B-tier first-person shooters is really cramped and you can't expect to them to be popular. A large portion of The Call of Duty crowd are satisfied with only playing one game and the same year you also had Aliens vs. Predator, Army of Two: The 40th Day, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Bioshock 2, Blacklight: Tango Down, Borderlands, Brink, Call of Duty: Black Ops, GoldenEye 007, Halo Reach, MAG, Medal of Honor, Metro 2033, NecroVisioN: Lost Company, Operation Wolfsburg, Perfect Dark, Quake Live, Red Steel 2, S.T.A.L.K.E.R - Call of Pripyat, Sniper: Ghost Warrior, Terror Attack: Project Fateh, Terrorist Takedown 3, and UberStrike.
