This thread is for stupid GAMING questions that don't deserve their own thread

I don't think this deserves it's own thread but is there a resolution mod for the original Diablo? Kind of want to play this in widescreen.

Set up my PS3 on my spare HD TV which only goes up to 1080i. Should I leave it at 1080i or put it to 720p settings? I can't tell a visual difference as the TV is small but I want as little controller lag as possible, which option is considered the right one?

I think for controller lag and visual fidelity, 720p is the better option.

Hey guys, here's my problem

I need to upgrade my Vita memory card. I'm going to get a 32 GB. Is there an easy way to transfer the content of my previous memory card, so I don't have to download everything again?

I'm playing Xenoblade at the moment, is it safe to just stop doing the side quests? There's way too many of them.

Yep, for the most part. Do as many as you feel comfortable with. Some will grant unique rewards, though.

I will highlight one exception: There's one great side-chain that's long, entertaining, and unconventional - and it's possible to render that one impossible to complete unless you do enough of it prior to a given story point.

I'm not sure if there's any spoiler-free guides out there to indicate the must-do stuff to successfully manage the
red pollen orb
chain, but it's worth doing.

There is the Content Manager Assistant for the Vita that can transfer your content to a PC.

Yep this is the answer, it also allows you to connect through the network so don't need the Vita hooked in to the PC at the time. Although if you have a lot of games it will be quite a long process and might want it charging.

Grand stuff, cheers. I know there's some quests to unlock extra skill chains so might look into those too.

there is a website, often linked on GAF, it collates face off data from various websites. It's white, and it's basically just a big list of all the games compared. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Is there ever a working Vsync solution in Metro 2033? Tried just about everything ( Using AMD HD 7970 crossfire. )

Before the PS3 had in-game XMB, what happened when you pressed (and long pressed) the PS home button? (strange question, but I'm curious)

Question:

Has there ever been a thread or a monthly thread that goes over the new releases coming out that month and then asks who's gonna buy them?

Kinda like a game-centric pickup thread about games that are just released/who's buying what?

The closest thing we have to this is the monthly pick-up posts.

The same thing that happens when you hold the Home button in-game now. Mostly black screen with "Quit Game", "Turn Off Controller", etc.

Does the phrase "muchi muchi" mean anything other than "chubby/pleasantly plump" in Japanese?

There is a game called Muchi Muchi Pork! which is a scrolling shooter made by Cave. (It is a good game and you should import it if you have a 360. It is region free.) One of its dominant colors is pink because the game is themed around pigs. It was also packaged with a game called Pink Sweets (annoying audio warning) when it got a 360 port.

Yesterday I discovered a color of nail polish called "muchi, muchi". It is, weirdly...pink. So is "muchi muchi" somehow associated with pink in some language that isn't Japanese, or is someone at essie a Cave fan HOLY SHIT is it just a weird coincidence?

In regards to resolution (of a TV or monitor)

A screen on either can only display at the resolution of the panel right? So something displayed in 720p on a 1080p TV will always actually be showing 720p upscaled to the size of the panel, meaning it is stretched to fit. Firstly this is correct yes?

So why do monitors not appear to do this? If I display something in a lower res than my panel on a TV, without upscaling, then I have a border around the picture of black.

But, I can never achieve this on a monitor, only a TV, which is why I ask the above. I can never get any monitor to NOT upscale something to the full picture, giving me that border. Moreover, a monitors res can be much higher, but never looks streched at a res lower than the panel in the same way as a TV.

So...why is it different. I don't understand :(
Who knows if you'll read this, but check the OSD menu of your monitor. If it doesn't give you any scaling options, then the reason is because you have a cheap, crappy monitor. Sorry! A better one would allow you to adjust the scaling.

A former staff member (BuddyC) used to have a thread like that, but I guess he got tired of all the work. I thought they were nice, even though they weren't super useful to me since I'm in Europe.

I've had a problem with my graphics card that I bought in September. Not the simple "it's died" problem though. For reference, I ordered a Sapphire HD 7850 2GB from an online UK retailer last September. When I opened my computer to clean out some dust yesterday I noticed that the lattice which holds connects the cooling fans to the rest of the graphics card had broken away from the main body of the card. It was still connected by a cable, but the plastic with screws in has apparently broken off. I found pieces of broken plastic and a screw inside my case.

Sapphire's website states that you should contact the retailer directly, which I did. When I sent the item back to them they said that I had damaged it and therefore they were just going to send the damaged card back to me.

In short, have any of you had any experience dealing with faulty graphics cards, particularly from Sapphire? Would you suggest I try going to the manufacturer directly? Any thoughts are welcome.

Okay guys, question about DLC and accounts on the X360.

Say I'm with a friend that got the DLC for a game. He comes at my place. We retrieve and download his account/gamertag on my X360 and we download the aforementioned DLC.

Will I be able to use it under my own gamertag or not? What if I get offline?

Is this an illegal/cheater/bad issue regarding MS?

Why when I leave my controller with play and charge plugged into my Xbox 360 Slim and then turn my xbox off, it sounds like its taking off to go to the moon (like the disk drive is spinning super hard or something) until I unplug the power cord from the back?

I wasn't expecting that. Thank you.

One thing I should mention before I forget: Squall's weapons "unlock" his other Limit Breaks. His default weapon gives him his level 1 limit, and the more powerful weapons come with his other levels. His strongest weapon "Lionheart" unlocks his level 4 Limit, coincidentally called "Lion Heart."

Haha. Is it true that EXPing actively works against you? (Should I care?)

Enemies (and some bosses) level up with your party's average, but it doesn't "work against you" unless you come into battles unprepared. If it's your first playthrough then you don't need to worry about it at all. The game isn't extraordinarily difficult that you need to watch your level at all times or anything.

I believe you'll only be able to use the DLC while his account is signed in and online. But since it's add-on content rather than, say, an XBLA game, there could be some other DRM on it so that might not even work.

It's not a 100% sure answer, but I wanted to get across that you won't be banned or flagged as a "cheater" or whatever for simply trying since you're not deliberately circumventing any security restrictions. So give it a shot.
