Pretty sure you can't. I'm pretty sure splitscreen, because it's local to the Xbox, has special rules.
 
New to this thread, but I have a question that falls nicely into this category.

Is there something out there now, or being planned, that's about a Witch, or Witches (I'd prefer 1 terrifying Witch over many). Even in something like Left for Dead, the witch would scare the crap out of me.

The idea of a horribly violent Witch has always scared me. I was ready for The Blair Witch Project to scratch the itch. It was near my itch, but didn't scratch it. The sequel also didn't. The first one had some scary moments but the final touch really wasn't put on that.

So again, are there any dark, "hard R" Witch movies in development that you know of?

The Nick Cage one,I had never heard of it. Is that supposed to be a scary movie?

Also my dream witch movie would be much a more "iconic" witch (hat, cauldrons, home deep in the woods, no broom riding etc) than a director's unique take.

Aren't those the outlets that have a lot of space around them? That's so the transformer (the plugs with the big bulky end) won't block any other outlets.

I read a book back in High School that was about some alien race that lived on a planet with four suns. Due to the rotation of the suns, there was never any real night time on the planet. There was even some new attraction where the "ride" was simply going in a box with total darkness for like 15 minutes and the aliens were so unused to it that they began to go insane and the attraction needed to be closed.

Anyway, it turns out there's a moon they didn't know about and once every X thousand years there's an eclipse and the world is plunged into darkness and everyone goes insane and the only people prepared are this religious cult that everyone thought was crazy, but it turns out they've been picking up after the eclipse for many cycles.

I read it a long time ago, no idea who wrote it or what the title is...

Help me, GAF!
 
What would be the best way to rip videos from a DVD and make GIFs from them? too many times I've wished I had a certain Avatar clip to post as a reply...
 
In Toy Story 1, in the beginning, why does Buzz freeze, and act like a toy around humans when he is convinced that he a real Space Ranger?
 
Weird computer question: When setting a computer background, and the picture is too big so that if it's just centered a lot of it is off screen, is there a way to orient which parts of the picture will show up on the screen as opposed to zooming in on the center? I don't mean to apply the stretch option, either.

Pixar says all toys pretty much have a killswitch that sends them into toy mode when humans are around. It apparently was ignored in the finale, when the toys confront Sid.

I have Microsoft Works instead of Microsoft Word on my computer, but I am doing an application for graduate school and my personal statement needs to be submitted in Word, Adobe PDF, Text (.txt), or Rich Text (.rtf). Would writing in Microsoft Works qualify as any of these?

Works likely has its own format, but you should be able to save as txt or rtf.

It's easer to manually resize and edit the picture you want to use with a photo editing program.

that's disappointing. You'd think it'd be super simple to drag around the picture inside the mini-moniter they display.

Like Cyan said, but id recommend just using Google docs, you would just hit "File" and then "Download as" and then pick your file format, they have PDF, .DOC(word) etc...

Also I believe Works file format is .WPS, so no its not one of those.

I'd probably avoid using txt and rtf, since it might mess with the formatting.

Because he was fresh from the factory, unboxed, and only kicked into being sentient they day he was opened by Andy and turned on. Then he had to be convinced of the reality of his existence by the other toys.

It's actually a good question, the only others that are that lacking in self-awareness are the 3 eyed green aliens. The Claw is all they know anything about.

So maybe a stupid question, but I did just update my itunes. So I bought two songs and I want to make them ringtones. I remember before you had to left click on a song and highlight the option to turn it into a ringtone.It would cost a dollar. Now I don't see that option. What do I do?

Nvm you just can't anymore. Fuck itunes.

Oh wait its free now-Awesome!

Judging from the response time values alone, it shouldn't be noticeable. I'm no expert but I don't think there's much of a difference (in terms of response time) between LCDs with LED backlights and those with CCFLs.

Buzz belived himself to be in hyperbolic sleep or whatever. His reaction to being taken out of his ship was him slowly being woken up. For instance, if he wasn't slowly waking up, he would have known his ship was damaged before making a deal about it moments later. Remember that he believes himself a true space ranger and therefore believes everything a space ranger would, such as toxic air, star command and so on. I'm probably reading too far into this but whatever! :)
 
I just got a brand new computer this week and was problem free until today. My display no longer fills my entire monitor so I have a black frame an inch around the screen. Quite lame. I fiddled with the monitor options but couldn't find anything to stretch it out. I'm using a ASUS VE276Q monitor. Any idea?

Oh, and my computer says my monitor is "Generic PnP Monitor." I'm not sure if it had the real name before or not.

EDIT - More info!

There was a slight problem the first day I got it. It shipped with VGA and DMI cables, but my PC doesn't accept DMI so I just used VGA. No problem. But then I restarted and didn't get a display at all. I've been using HDMI since then.

It's normal to say PnP. Unlpug it, restart, then plug it back in, and then turn it on again. Also try downloading your newest gpu drivers. Nvidia drivers can set a custom resolution if all else fails.

I did the unplug/restart trick to no avail. It looks like the drivers for my AMD Radeon HD 6850 are up to date. Any other ideas?

Does it say the correct screen resolution correct within windows?
 
When I go through the Catalyst Control Center and change my Desktop Area to 1680x1050, it does stretch the display so it fills the screen. But it doesn't look right. I'm not sure why I can't fill the screen with a higher resolution, especially since I was doing it just last night.

EDIT - It's the same thing when I fire up a game. Any resolution higher than 1680x1050 doesn't fill the screen, even though I was running everything higher than that with no problems last night.
 
So I'm getting an iPad tomorrow for Christmas. My understanding is that I will need to activate it with a computer to use it out of the box. I'll be away from my computers for several days and would like to use it in the meantime, so my question is: will there be any problem if I activate the iPad on someone elses computer? Will I be able to re-register it to mine later easily? I figure if I don't buy any apps until I get home there won't be any problems, right?

I think we had to register it to an iTunes account, but I'm not entirely sure.

Yeah, (maybe too late to tell you, sorry) but you'll want to set up an iTunes account, credit card info and the whole shebang to get things working propa' like. I got an iPad last night. I am into technology. And it threw me off actually.

I had already authorized 5 machines so I had to take care of that, clear it up, enter new CC information and then go. I think theres some limited funtionality out of the box, but having know that I would need to do this, I just got it over with before playing with my toy.

It's nice huh? Couple things that are annoying but it's pretty cool.
 
I know I already asked something related to my PC yesterday, but a new problem surfaced just now. When I booted up the PC this morning, I didn't get a display at all. Though the monitor is connected with both VGA and HDMI cables, it said "no signal" for both. I restarted and it worked (through HDMI), but that does scare me. Does this sound like a problem with the PC, monitor, video card, or what? Is this something I can trouble shoot or do I have a defective... something?

I ended up activating it on my dad's computer and it seems to be wanting to use his iTunes account so I'll just not get any apps for now and fully reset it when I get home. Love it just for web browsing though :D
