What happens if an actor gets sick while filming?

They stop for a bit. If it's totally serious (or if the role is incredibly minor) they might re-cast.

When did the makers of gasoline cans decide that we're idiots?

They're designed in such a horrible way now (see below - worst of the worst). I feel like they presume everyone had a sparkler lit, smoking a cigarette next to a campfire every time they go to fill up a mower, a boat, and really anything with a 2 or 4 cycle engine. Short of hauling the boat out of the water, driving to a gas station with the monster on the trailer, and then putting it back in, this is my only way to fill.

When I fill the boat up, I have to deal with 5 of these fucking things - I always make a mess, and I always am exhausted after using them. It used to take about 10 minutes to dump that much gas into my Nautique (boat on the right). Now I need help, at least one person, and at least triple that amount of time. These new cans just dribble gas out - no air hole to let it flow faster (somehow they've built that into the neck, they say - I think it's bullshit).

Just wondering why these got so idiot proofed to the point that I'd rather just siphon the gas out of the tanks and into the boat. It used to be so simple.

I guess it's a niche problem but you may have been exposed to this if you have to fill anything like a mower, snowblower, tractor, etc.

Can't you just unscrew the cap and use a funnel or something if it really a problem?

Totally.

If they made large funnels anymore. I can't find one for shit, and the only place I've not checked is a tractor trailer parts store. Nothing near the size I need can be found at a WalMart, Sears, Target, Autozone - nothing. I used to have a huge awesome one - more than a foot across, it got so old that it cracked. I've not found a big enough one to take the funnel in far enough - and the gas cap is on the side, not the top, of the gunwales. It is such a pain in the neck.

But yes - presuming I could find a big enough funnel, and it had an angled neck, that'd absolutely be the way to go.

EDIT: Regarding unsrewing the cap on the gas cans, they make that all sorts of difficult too. I am serious every 2 years these things get more and more complex. You see them on shelves, just saying, well that the fuck is that for? God.

Lazy question: how do I make it so that Word 2007 doesn't default to a space after each line when I start a new doc? I know how to change it to 0 pt, but it seems to default to 10-12 pt spacing.

I wish I had a source for this, but I read something about this "problem" for which I too can only hope. There's a very specific rule about gambling/lotto winning taxes and gifts. It's really exclusive to lottery winners, getting double-taxed. I think there are only a few types of income that you can be double-taxed on. In a way, isn't that part of the death tax and how it plays into the whole debate on it?

I did a bit of digging around and I think that at least as far as the Pennsylvania Lottery (kind of iffy since Megamillions and Powerball are multistate) you can split the winnings into separate checks between different people, as you'd do if it was an office pool or something. Like I said, not sure if it would apply to the multistate lotteries, but that seems like it'd be the most applicable if I was ever that lucky.

Can I freeze soy milk? Given that not all supermarkets carry the best one "Silk", I buy 3 at a time. So may I?

I buy Silk in bulk also and it keeps a long time as long as you don't open it. I don't even refrigerate the unopened boxes.

Don't listen to this guy! His avatar is a picture of two guys drinking their own urine. He's crazy! :lol

Never had Silk but it looks good and creamy on the box. Kinda looks like a milk shake in a way.

In Google Chrome when you open a tab it shows your 8 most visited links/sites. Is there a way to manually add one to that list? You know the one with a slight screenshot of the link?

Can't you buy those funnels online?

My stupid question is...Is the night darkest before the dawn?

I think it feels darkest before the dawn - all the house lights are off, no body is around and it's been hours since you've seen sunlight. But no, in reality there's no difference in lighting between 12am and 4am, all other things being equal.

How do I make embedded youtube videos NOT change to a higher resolution when I go to fullscreen? Videos on youtube.com have stopped doing that because I told my settings that I have a slow connection but embedded videos just don't give a shit :lol. I don't really have a slow connection but it's annoying having to rebuffer a video mid-stream, and more often than not, the entire video will restart from 0:00, not caring about when I pressed the fullscreen button :( I'm on FF if it helps.

I just redeemed an iTunes card, and the store flashed up a message saying it was taking $28 or so from what I had put in to clear my balance - as if I'd incurred a debt or something. So far as I know, iTunes only works with what I put in. How, in that case, did I end up owing it money ?

Do celebrities pay or get paid to be on talk shows?
like the other guy said, they get paid. Celebrities get paid to do everything. If you think about it, it makes sense. If you had a talk show, you'd want high profile people to come on your show so you'll get more viewers. You'd have to pay a price in order to get them because they won't work for free.

Although I'm sure a better deal is made if a celebrity wants to go on a talk show in order to promote their new book or movie.

I don't think they ever get paid. I think they always go on those shows to promote something. Promoting via talk shows might even be in their contract.

My mp3 player, a 4gb Sandisk Sansa, appears to be broken. I put a bunch of new music on it tonight and after unplugging it from my laptop, the player restarts and displays the usual "refreshing database" message, but halfway through the screen goes all scrambled and the unit can't be turned off or anything without pulling the battery out. The same thing just happens if I try again, so it's stuck in an unusable loop. Any hope of fixing this or am I out an mp3 player?

There are ways of resetting or rebooting most players like that - check the instructions or online help on how to do it.

The first one is soy sauce flavor and the second one is almond jelly flavor.

Why do asian countries always get the unique, awesome-sounding flavors of western junk food, whereas the western varieties are always "WOULD YOU LIKE THIS CONFIGURATION OF SUGAR + CHOCOLATE + MORE SUGAR + MAYBE SOME PEANUT BUTTER OR WOULD YOU LIKE THIS OTHER CONFIGURATION OF THE SAME THING"

That's not my actual question. My actual question is facebook related. I've always had a policy of not really being facebook friends with extended family for various reasons. This has been easy for the past several years because none of my family gave a damn about facebook. However they're starting to slowly creep in I fear. One of my uncles is now requesting facebook friendship, and the worst part it's the one uncle that is the most easily offended, often to a ridiculous degree.

I often curse in my status updates and say a lot of things that may be deemed controversial because my friends all know me and are cool with it. It's how we all talk. I don't want to change that obviously, but I also don't want my uncles and aunts and people to have to see that stuff. Most people act differently around their extended family than they do around their friends. How do I deal with this?

TL;DR - I thought there was a way to control which friends can see which parts of your profile. I can't find any such thing though. Is there a way to do this?

A few months ago I saw a trailer on Apple.com/trailers for a film that was simply about life in a particular American town. The title was a zip code, however I can't for the life of me remember what it was, and I'm really anxious to see this movie.

Does anyone know the title, please?

They get paid. It's usually a small fee.

Does anyone here have experience with purchasing house plans to have a house built from scratch by a contractor? I'd like to peruse some plans, preferably online but I was wondering if there was a good site for it .. or if there was a good book like at Lowes or Home Depot or something.

Magazine racks actually have tons of these and they are very good and match up to just about any house you're looking for including mansions. They are cheaper than the books at Lowe's.

If you're into the really bizarre, a bookstore has some for that whereas the HI stores rarely do.

There could be another way, but from my experience you need to go to a builder (usually a show home) and see what plans they offer. You'd buy a lot (doesn't necessarily have to be theirs, but some require the house to be built on their lots due to the house size) and then they'd build the plan you picked out.

Is there anyway i can disable certain banners from showing up? Theres a facebook of sex banner that constantly shows up on most websites like kotaku, and msn.

Im using google chrome btw.

Well, I found several solutions and have tried them all (formatting, changing firmware, debug modes) with varying degrees of success; the end result, though, is that the player still bricks after I put music back onto it. I wonder if it's possible that there's a specific file I'm trying to transfer over that's causing this... The first time after "fixing" it, I put only a portion of the mp3s back on and it refreshed without an issue, but with the second batch of songs, it messes up. God, this is frustrating.

I've recently started selling some of my CDs on Amazon and I just got a message from someone asking if shipping charges can be reduced if they order multiple items. How do I do this?

I posted this in both the gaming and off-topic threads as I thought I'd get more replies that way and it is an off-topic general hardware question as much as a gaming question.

So my gf has a Sony Vaio PCV-A1111L all in one with integrated screen and mobo/processor and I would like to use the screen to play some Wii. The only thing is that it doesnt have any video inputs at all as its an integrated screen. I was thinking about component to USB adapters or cables with software that process/transcode the input, or something like http://www.hdboxpro.com/eng/spec.htm but with USB instead of VGA. Any help on how to achieve this would be appreciated.

Bump. Your input is valued!

If there isn't an option to send a revised invoice (after they have purchased the items), you can always issue a partial refund - just let the buyer know this would act as a discount on postage.

Found the problem! A Peter Gabriel album with some excessively long titles (for some reason, they were tagged with a host of contributing artists in the track names) was causing it to crash. Took some trial and error to narrow it down, but it working fine again. Yay!
