How do people get used to wearing rings, watches, jewelry, anything like that? Doesn't it get in the way when washing hands, putting handcream on? I get moisture between the metal and my skin, so irritating. Can never get used to it

I often wonder that when watching The Food Network and seeing people cook. Especially Paula Deen and Guy Fieri. They have a ton of bling on their hands and they're digging into raw meat and oils and such. And then those juices and liquids just sit between the metal and their fingers. Seems gross to me.

This is actually a kind of embarassing question but I haven't found much help through my own browsing. Often during sex, I can't manage to climax. Why is this? I'm in good shape and young. In fact, out of everything I've read I'm more likely to suffer from premature ejaculation than anything else. I read that the median time to last during sex is about 5.4 minutes, and considerably less for men my age. I've gone well over 30 on multiple occasions to no avail. I've put in so much effort that I end up physically exhausting myself before I ever end up reaching orgasm. And I don't want that to sound like some sort of bragadocious claim because, frankly, I just feel embarrassed. I've even gone flaccid before managing to reach orgasm before which was simply humiliating. Even when I'm doing the deed myself it's at least a 10-15 minute endeavor. Trying to find reasons why I can't climax on google only lead me to articles intended for women. Help me gaf :(

I guess there's no other place for this:

Is it worth it to join Phi Kappa Phi? I haven't been at my current college long enough to meet their chapter's requirements to get into Phi Beta Kappa (not enough earned credits at the institution, I do meet the GPA standards), but I have been invited into Phi Kappa Phi, and I think it'd be nice to have some sort of honor society that isn't a complete scam on my CV for when I apply to graduate school.

So I was wondering, if I'm an astronaut taking a walk outside my space station, and as I am facing away from the station I happen to fart, will the force of the fart generate enough propulsion to drive me away from the station, thus ending up killing me?
How? You're farting into a closed container (your space suit).

Yes, I didn't give enough thought as to how a space suit is designed, so you would just have to assume my suit had the fart propellant nozzle technology explained by awesomeapproved

What's the best way to deal with a sore throat? I woke up this morning, and the back of my throat (the right side) feels a little swollen. What drug can I take?

Gargle hot salt water.

When the salt water enters the throat, the solution helps to neutralize acids in the throat, restoring the natural pH balance that had been disrupted by the sore throat. By doing this, the burning sensations are relieved and the mucous membranes become less irritated, which can speed healing.

The most likely reasons are either medication or psychology. Are you on SSRIs? If so, one of their notable side effects is orgasmic dysfunction. Other OTC medications can also have that effect. For example, dextromethorphan (the "DM" in cough suppressant medicines) works by being a CNS depressant, and that is a side effect.

If it is caused by medication, then this would affect your ability to orgasm both by yourself and with a partner. But if the issue is that you can masturbate and finish quickly, but can't get there with a partner, then that is a clear sign that it's actually psychological. Nervousness and anticipation can, paradoxically, make it very difficult to orgasm, even though for most guys it has the opposite effect.

Thanks for the Morning Jacket replies.

I have a strange question.

Are old people sexually attracted to old people or do they still fancy people in their twenties and thirties and know old people look horrible?

I have a desk lamp that I got from my cousin and I've been using it for a few months now. Yesterday I heard a clink like sound and it stopped working. Thinking the bulb died or something I replaced it today but it's still not turning on. Do lamps just die like that? I haven't really moved it around in any odd way so it's not like any wires or internal shit could get fucked up.

is it possible to voluntarily revoke your voting rights in the US (without committing a felony)? also, if it is possible, does that also remove your eligibility for jury duty?

Lets say I own a website, "findahotel.com", and it helps people with info on hotels in different cities and what there rooms are like and prices etc etc.

Then someone makes a site called "findahotelny.com", and they are using my literature VERBATIM on their site.

Anything I can do? I have a a copyright on my site, but not sure if someone can copy my writing.

Help?

I've seen this gif on GAF tons of times, but I've always wondered why people use this backwards version of the actual scene?

At least in my jurisdiction, the jury duty pool is pulled from voter registration records. So, you wouldn't necessarily need to formally rescind your voting rights. You'd just have to not register. Seems like kind of a crappy thing to do just to get out of jury duty, though.

You mean Abe walks in from the right in the real episode? You sure?

I've seen that gif so many times I must've conflated that gif with the episode. :/

could you sum up this post for me?

I would, but then the next ten posts would be people bitching about the summary, completely oblivious to the fact that they're shitting up the thread way more than I. :)

summary: people way overreact to Summary Man's summaries

in the real episode yes, the right, you can tell by the fox 13 logo.

I'm sorry Summary Man, but I just can't understand your posts without that convenient summary that you graciously end your posts with. You should be ashamed of yourself.

also, I need to summarize a chapter of the book "Black Swan Green" for my english class on monday. can you help me out with your summarization skills?

No I don't think that's possible. Kind of makes the whole democracy thing useless.

Ugh, so much to read. If only there was a kind soul out there to summarize this post for me. :(

it could be, perhaps, that at the time the only video available was a reversed video on youtube to bypass copyright infringement. the person who created the gif used the reversed video?

Chances are, the gif was made from a video uploaded to YouTube. When people upload videos to YouTube, they flip it vertically to get around the auto-detect copyright detection. (Basically, the copyright holders upload the videos they don't want to be viewable on YouTube, and then software automatically checks every other video to see if it matches.)

EDIT: beaten.

This has been bugging me about Inception and wary of bumping it OT for this. Spoilers I guess, but it's more about the mechanics of the dream and kicks than story stuff.

So they take the drug that knocks them out for 7 hours so the dreams will be stable, but how do they get out the first dream level early? The drug makes the dream last a week IIRC and they way to get out early requires the a kick in a higher level. So they would need to fall in reality and that doesn't happen. Did I miss something or did they spend a week evading security with the risk of becoming a vegetable?

Any bird living today has more in common with dinosaurs than any reptile alive.

EDIT: Ok got it - remix.

1. Through some dumb-ass navigating on my part, I just wrote a 698 word response (I checked) to a user that is banned. "Wollan". Banned. I have come to the point that I tune out that text under our usernames completely. What is it, and when can we edit it?

2. What in the hell is wrong with Lindsay Lohan? Drugs? Plastic surgery at too young an age? Something else? She looks like she wouldn't be able to recover from so much as a paper cut.

698 word response, to a poster who was banned like 2 years ago?

really?

that's grounds for incrimination, you might want to have yourself locked up just to protect everyone else around you

no offence, but we can't have people like you running around freely, it's dangerous

2. Is there a term for the behavior Lindsay Lohan is showing, or any biologic specifics for what's happening to her face, specifically, if it's natural?

The swelling of her cheeks, if not surgical, could very well be her immune system screaming "STOP TAKING DRUGS".

I've noticed that one of my cats has started twitching in his sleep occasionally (mouth, paws, tail). I've never seen my other cat or any other cat do this, should I see a vet?

That's called dreaming.

They do get the kick at a particular time- namely at the time the plane lands in LA. Otherwise the drugs basically are timed to wear off at the time of landing which is what happens.

Also, the security was no longer there because his mind no ,onger considered them a threat, but otherwise they were stuck there for a time. They were supposed to be there for a week anyway.

Why don't iMac's have HDMI ports so you can use them as a monitor for non 'DisplayPort' devices?
Somewhat sarcastic answer: Because DisplayPort is "better."

Somewhat cynical answer: DisplayPort is actually better than HDMI; Higher theoretical bandwidth, no licensing fees, arbitrary data channels, etc. Sure, HDMI might be more useful right now since it's what everything supports, but Apple couldn't force you to do things their way if they just let you do things however you wanted.

I've just been looking into it, and you can get HDMI to DisplayPort converters but can you view material that is HDCP protected?

This isn't a stupid question, but I run a blog powered by Wordpress, and have a forum set up under InvisionFree. Is there any way I can combine the forum into the Wordpress software so that it stays on the blog rather than having to go to a completely different host?
