Does netflix have a way of tracking how many homes are using a Netflix account? I let my sister and girlfriend activate their Xbox 360 and iPhone (respectively) using my account. My mother seems concerned that Netflix is going to take legal action against me or something.

Anyone ever hear of someone having gotten in trouble for such a thing?

My friend had something ridiculous like 10 different devices, and Netflix reset all of them and asked him not to do that anymore.

Me, personally, my folks, my cousin and myself are on my account and no problems.

I had the same thing with the number 23. My social security number adds up to it and just a ton of other things in my life revolved around it. I got it tattooed in roman numerals on the back of my neck and has since died down. So uh...get a tattoo?
Hehe, maybe. Seems a bit extreme xD My number is 1:37 and variations of it, which I see on my digital alarm clock, rock band highscores, car license plates, metroid prime speedrun (that's where it started), in URLs, you name it. There's probably a whole bunch of numbers like that that you just don't notice but this one sticks out even more because I'm trying NOT to see it, you know? xD

If you enjoyed that movie, by the way, check this one out: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0126765/
Not sure about the quality of english dubbing, but the movie's pretty good!
Alright, cool :)

My number's eleven, considering my birthdate. (November 11)

This year is especially awesome because my birthday is 11/11/11.

People in England at least would be raised to respect them, and for some reason they keep voting to retain giving them all their money.
Yeah, but even in Canada people are excited and paying huge amounts of Attention to the Royal family. I don't get why they deserve all the attention they are getting. They don't even do anything.

Tradition I suppose.

On Macs, why do all the programs have individual windows? For instance, in Final Cut Pro: if I want to minimize the program, I have to minimize the sequencer, viewer, source list, etc. one by one. Then if I want to bring FCP back up, I have to maximize all of them one by one again.

This is a pain and I know there's probably a way to attach them all together. Does anyone know?

All is a huge exagerration, very few is more accurate.

You can click on the app name on the top bar and click hide ... and it all goes away.

I have no answer to that, but I just use Spaces to get around that issue. I have 9, that's plenty, I think. Each program I run gets its own Space. Then, instead of minimizing stuff, I just switch to a Space.
System Settings -> Exposé & Spaces

Edit: StuBurns, good to know!

2 questions - any help would be greatly appreciated!

1. Is MK confirmed to be ~$40 at ToysRus sunday?

2. Is there any way to edit/delete kotaku comments?

Thanks!

Is there anyway to completely hide someone on your ignore list (instead if having the person still showing as posted, albeit the post itself is hidden)

No, but they do vote on whether to keep getting taxed. All the royal family's money comes from taxes.
I read somewhere that the monarchy actually brings in more money in tourism than they spend in taxes. How you measure such a thing, I have no idea. Personally, I'm not so sure I'd want to be royalty. You apparently live your whole life in a fishbowl.

Help! I'm trying to find the video for a short film, but I can't find it!

Here's the plot of it.

(it's in black and white, free online)

A guy works as a parking attendant, and when customers come up to him to get their tickets, he tells them how great they are. This makes the customers very happy, and it becomes the most popular parking spot in town. One day he meets a girl who he can't cheer up no matter how hard he tries, and he gets depressed. He stops affirming others, and eventually gets fired from the job. He is walking down the street when he sees a photo shop. He walks in and sees the girl, now also telling people that they are great and getting genuine smiles from them on shoots. She's happy now, and they fall for each other.

This is driving me INSANE. Please help!

Hi. Im in search of this track.

Departure - Shiki no Uta/ Song of the season

Im looking for the version with the English verse by the end of the track.
Can some one show me the way?

I'm looking for a free image editing program (so no photoshop). The main thing I need it for is cutting the background out of images, like as seen in my avatar. I use IrfanView but I don't think it can do that.

This seemed like a solid place to ask this question. And reading a certain thread brought the question to mind.

As a kid I read "A Series of Unfortunate Events" and loved them... but their kids books. That being said, from a literature expert's POV, are they any good in terms of plot, character development, etc etc?

Been thinking about reading them myself but was interested to hear a reader's opinion.

I'm pretty sure kids were reading that in my Elementary school way back then. So no.

Why are most of David Lynch's movies (and Twin Peaks) not available on Blu-ray in the US? Dune is out, but as far as I know, that's the only one. It seems there are BD releases of films such as Fire Walk with Me and Mulholland Dr. in Europe, so why not the US? Will there ever be a US release for his other films?

You can do this with greasemonkey in Firefox. (dunno how you'd get the code/script for it though)

It's called something like ffvb management, I think. it'll work like the way he wants it.

This is going to sound prejudice, but there's no way around it.

I always assumed they were the pinnacle of what white people could be. From the viewpoint of a minority, that is saying a lot.

It's a prejudice thought because, for all I know, Kenyans are just as enthralled by the Royal Family. I personally never cared until Lady Di died which was tragic.
Well, my wife blew that theory. She was up at 5 in the morning to watch this stupid thing.

I guess it's a princess thing...

Is hampering monopolies (and potential ones) anti-capitalist?

I literally have no idea about economics so feel free to mock if that's moronic.

What animal is that, or even more specific, which is shown in the picture? I know it got very famous and died a year ago or so but I can't remember the name.

Yes, but it's not a bad thing imo especially since one can be a monopoly just through the normal whims of the market and it would be tough to hamper them except in mergers.

Being a monopoly without interference breeds coruption and stops competition while at the same time inhibiting innovation.

Thanks, I need to buy some sort of Dumbies guide to Economics I think.

This is actually kind of a nuanced question. Strictly speaking, yes, it is. But in general, stifling a monopoly (or any financial structure that behaves like one; price fixing, etc) is good for the growth of a capitalist society. So since it promotes capitalist growth in the general sense by restricting it in the strict sense, does that still make it anti-capitalist?

Really, it just goes to show that you can't put simple labels on gigantic over-arching social constructs.

Thanks for the tip. With Macs, it's hard for me to tell how many windows of a program I have open...like with Firefox, I can't tell how many windows I have open (Browser, Download List, etc.) I'm just accustomed to having the Windows taskbar and seeing everything that's open.

EDIT: Even better, is there a "Show Desktop" keyboard shortcut on desktop Macs? I know with Macbooks you can do the four finger swipe up.

I keep seeing this picture, but I have no idea what the meme is or where it came from.

That's M. Night Shyamalan. The picture/meme is used to show twists because all of his movies have them.

Example: "these bananas are delicious, I don't know why I like them so much."

Post: "You've turned into a monkey." *shyamalan pic*

Why doesn't Canada break from being in the British 'Commonwealth'?

I mean I would like us to. I think we should be a completely independent nation and not have a Constitutional monarchy.

Would any fellow Canadians like to do this? Can we do this?

Question 2: Do we send any money to Britain or vise versa?

Usually it's sarcastic, to show obvious twists, because the twists in his movies are obvious.

Anyone here had radish kimchi? A restaurant near me has radish and cabbage kimchi. The cabbage version rules! I'm like radishes but radish kimchi sounds particularly intense.

what if you fail the final year final course of the whole degree. just one course. How sad will you be? Is mercy marks possible?

--maybe not sad, unless you worked really hard. but we all know you don't need to work hard in school. You might be regretful.
--you retake it
--mercy marks could be possible depending on how crap the course is
--you didn't care anyway and drop out to do drugs
--you did care but you got into an ethical battle with the prof and you are so proud that you say "fuck it"

my friends have done the last two.
