I'm a graduate now, but my question: why do certain college professors insist on getting the NEWEST edition of books despite them costing a shitload and being completely worthless compared to the old ones? Then you go to sell the book and you don't get shit for them. My main pet peeves were math and history.

OMG, in the new super 2009 edition of World Civilizations - the Roman Empire DIDN'T FALL. Oh and Christopher Columbus discovered the new world in a helicopter.

Can someone kindly help find the source of this:

found it: crazy frog bros

See that little green box next to my name? Wtf is that for? I click on it and it says I have "10 reputation points". Is that a bad thing? Is it good? How do I get more?!

Neogaf gold account.

Whats a gold account? Is that reserved for industry insiders or mods or something?
People that keep making references to gold accounts are going to ruin the shit for the rest of us that have them.

Yes they exist. No you can't have one. Yes there are benefits.

Let's just leave it there.

You were really close to getting offered one. 2 more rep points and you had it.

Sorry. I figured he was so close to one that I might as well tell him.

This is something I don't understand. Suppose you're going on a train right, and you decide to jump off it. Why do people roll when they're jumping just to the ground? I know it has to do with the force of the train or something but it's something that's been bothering me for a while.
You have momentum in the direction of the train even after you jump off it, so rather than land on your feet and crash to the ground, you roll with the natural movement and minimize injury.

From my understanding it's a feature no one uses anymore. Only mods can change rep points, and usually they don't add they subtract.

PS: 10 is what everybody starts out with.

I still can't get over that product :lol

Who the fuck would buy that shit? It's called a sweater. It's called a bathrobe. It's called "you've already got clothes, so put more of those on instead of spending money on this POS".

You didn't like my Holiday gift to you? :(

i can't for the life of me remember a movie and the problem is that i don't remember much at all.

it's a fantasy movie from the 80's (possibly very early 90's) and there's a scene in the movie where a kid sees a stamp from a stamp collection book and it's an old stamp of a ship.

that's really all i got. for some reason i keep thinking it's the neverending story but i'm not really sure at all.

Can someone link me to the GAF (or the predecessor of GAF) thread concerning Sega falling out from the console industry? I mean the one where the news broke out.

I have a question:
Should I watch Get Smart with Steve Carell?

Costanza said:
yes. it's a very love it or hate it movie, but personally I enjoyed it.
I was right about to get through the opening credits of Mallrats, but I'll take your suggestion instead.

If it helps, I've absolutely loved everything else Steve Carell has done, especially The Office.

I can't find it in Goodcow's archive. This is a grievous omission.

Ties with education/book industry, they basically have a stranglehold over high schools/colleges.

Here's a question that I don't want to make a new thread for:

Can somebody be nice enough to make a .gif of this video from 0:51-0:54? Just the entire "binocular zoom" shot. :D

I'd greatly appreciate it!

:lol You really want that .gif, don't you? I would help you if I could.

EDIT: By the way, you didn't post the link to the video.

I hunger for that .gif with the intensity of a morbidly obese man who hasn't eaten in 4 days.

I spent about 3 hours a couple of days ago looking for a decent online .gif maker but to no avail.

It's as if the entire world does not want that glorious shot turned into a .gif.

Could it be this? Tommy Tricker and the Stamp Traveller

What the hell are the "Natural Flavors" listed on the ingredients label of damn near everything? And it's always the last one listed, meaning it has the lowest content. What is this ambiguously titled ingredient that is the lowest content of so many different foodstuffs?!

Is normal for a Linksys WRT54G router to have to be resetted every couple of hours or so or did I just set my network up badly?

Even so, is there any router I can buy where it just works and I don't have to get involved in networking logistics, dns error fixes, upnp, static ips, ect...

You could buy a better one.. or you could update the firmware.. that tends to fix allot of the problems.

They need to do away with these insane mothers who kill their babies because these babies can't fight back.

It was on the news this morning - a mother in Arkansas who killed her three kids. They are taking the three babies back to New York to lay to rest. My prayers are with the father who lost his children; I am truly for your loss.
