PLEASE HELP ME get rid of static electricity.

I'm like fucking doused with it every morning when I work. I open a lot of metal doors throughout the day and I get really fucking harsh static shocks. I have a device to get rid of it but it's annoying to try to take it out every time to use it on something and seriously slows down production when I get a shock every fucking other time of touching something metal. Is it all the electronics in my room? (computer, TV, cable box or something else?) I know I have a lot cause I get stuff sticking to my shirt like lint and stuff. A LOT. I use those sheets in the laundry but I don't think it's my clothes it's gotta be something else.

Learn to harness your ability to store electricity, and use it to benefit mankind.

I can't remember if it was on GAF or not, but there was this gif of a creepy guy peeping from behind a potted plant. I think there was an Adult Swim logo near the bottom of the image. Can someone link me to that gif?

I'm looking for a movie poster. It showed a wallet, iPhone, Gun, and a bunch of other things that a man would carry all lined up perfectly on a table.

I know the description sucks, anyone?

Someone/something sent a Spam message to all my friends on facebook. The message seems to be sent by me (shows up on the list of messages I sent), but it wasn't me. It's no big deal, my friends don't mind, but does anyone know how this could have happend?

No one logged into my facebook account during the time the messages were sent. My password was still the same and my account probably isn't hacked or anything like that. I changed my password and everything, but I think it's more likely that some program on my computer was responsible for that. Or some website I went to. Is that possible? What would you guys recommend me to do?

edit: I never visited a website to link it with facebook, like anything there or stuff like that. I've also never given any App the permission to send message to any friends.

Why do some videos show up like this when I'm streaming them?

D7LaC.png

I have the latest version of Flash Player 10. The image will get all "blocky" and discolored. I've even seen it happen to select YouTube videos.

Just thought I'd share incase someone else has this same issue.

For Windows 7 users the latest version of Flash 10 may cause videos to look like the one posted above.

Simply right clicking the video, selecting "Settings..." and then disabling (uncheck the check box) Hardware Acceleration solves the issue.

According to Adobe forums, it's a common issue with Flash 10.1

I'm relieved it was a simple fix, and my videos stream perfectly now. :D

GAF - i was handed-down a maxtor II one-touch 320 (or so?) GB external drive, was working not far back but dude lost the AC adapter. friend provided me with another (i dont imagine these are universal...), and it worked! only...now, on either win xp or win 7 systems, it recognizes it, but only in device manager...nothing in windows explorer.

i recall something similar happening on an older setup when i tried a USB hub that i guess the system wasnt picking up; ipod, camera etc would be recognized when plugged in, but not show in explorer, but would if directly plugged into USB. of course, i have said drive directly plugged in, and have tried different USB ports & verified them too...what to do? i went looking for drivers, and the maxtor page had a few things but nothing that looked like it would help. is it possible the AC adapter isnt the proper wattage or something?

Sounds like it could be a drive letter conflict. Try changing the assigned letter in device manager to something way down the alphabet that is unlikely to have been assigned to another device.

Windows Explorer question -

I've organised a folder of pictures like so:

Main Folder > Subfolders

There's about 20+ sub categories overall. Is there a way to temporarily extract all the pictures from the sub folders into one massive folder, so I can see every picture in the same window? And then when I'm done, all the pictures go back to their respective sub categories?

I thought about duplicating the folder and then having one organised and one without any sub folders, but I think that's a last resort.

I am currently in Japan as part of a 10 month exchange program. I was told not to bring a computer or cellphone overseas from Canada, but most other kids did anyway. Ugh.

I need to do an online class because it is a graduate required course, and using my host family's 10 year old laptop with windows XP and no service pack hasn't helped. The only computers my host family here has are old and slow.

My dad runs his own computer service/selling/virus removal shop and would be able to send me a laptop if need be.
He directed me to here:
http://www.dospara.co.jp/5goods_pc/pc_detail.php?h=g&f=g&m=g&mc=1447&a=1
for a laptop, it looks very good, but then it would of course have a JP Keyboard and OS on it.

What laptops can GAF recommend me to get while studying over here?

*I'd like to game a little bit on the computer too, as my HF doesn't own a Wii, or PS3, or any console. :( I brought my DS with me though, haha.
Also, a wireless router would also be good, huh? This tiny house I'm living in only has one LAN Jack, so the two comps can't even be on the internet at the same time.
(I'd like the laptop to have a 64-Bit OS Windows 7, with at least 4GB of RAM)

Help me, GAF!

Wow, I just arrived a week ago in Japan for an approximately 10 month program as well.

As for laptops, I would think a netbook would be the best suggestion. They're the cheapest computer you'll find, are capable of doing all basic things you need to do; it's not as much of a problem if lost, and it's easier to carry around. As far as a specific model I really can't say, but I would think that any netbook from a major brand would be satisfactory.

It isn't using the flash version of youtube, but a version with iPhone compatible video files. Not everything has been converted.

I've been using the 30 day trial of Paint Tool SAI and it's still working on day 31...Is there any reason for this? Will it stay this way? How can I pay to have the full version exactly with Paypal? I signed up for it but I wanna know exactly what to do.

Batman Begins isn't even that great in the first place, and The Dark Knight is a new classic.

I agree with DK being better but I definitely thought BB was AMAZING, given the state of Batman movies Pre-BB

This is how I feel. I was already a Nolan fan before BB, but the movie never did much for me. I didn't dislike it, but I never thought it was that great. I loved The Dark Knight, definitely a new classic.

There's a new Target commercial that's getting played fairly often. In the commercial a woman imagines herself in this little dreamworld where some guy hands her an apple or something. Anyway, in the ad they play this short whistle song. It sounds so familiar. I could almost swear it's a reworking an Ennio Morricone piece, but I'm not sure. Can anyone confirm or deny my suspicions?

Outside of the spammers, you probably posted something vaguely related to their field that came up on a search, so they added you. All of them in the hopes that you'll follow back.

Gaf, I need you to help me solve a problem that has been horrifying me for most of my life.

How do I take cleaner dumps?

Here is the breakdown of the process:
5-10 Sec of taking it
15-30 min of wiping

Obviously I want to reduce that time. Should I eat healthier? Use a different position while taking it? Use a different wiping technique? All of the above?

Add water to your wiping process, faster and cleaner.
