Is there a word yet for fear of non-organic products? I think my mom is developing one... >_>

A phobia. Paranoia.

Ask your mom this : what is more healthy, eating organic chips, drink organic beer and eat lots of fatty organic meat or a non-organic diet with lots of veggies?

Organic is nice but my parents were born in a time where already food was brought up the modern way and they are still pretty healthy.

Healthy diet>>>>>>>>>>>eating all organic

That's a false dichotomy. Might as well have said "What's healthier, eating old tires, or eating a non-organic diet with lots of veggies? Healthy diet>>>>>>>>>>>>eating all tires."

What, the conclusion is valid. A healthy diet is certainly much, much more healthy than eating old tires.
I didn't provide a scale where to measure it but eating old tires is near the bottom of any health scale.

His mother is becoming afraid of non-organic produce for health reasons and I simply listed an exmaple example which rationalizes that eating organic is not the most important part to a healthy diet.
And I eat a lot of organic stuff. Especially my beer (no, seriously) :-P

Ok, say someone got sentenced to life in prison for murder. A few years later, that person breaks out of prison, and during that time when they are on the run, it is discovered that person is 100% innocent of the crime that they committed.

Would they get in trouble for breaking out of prison?

Yeah, he's still breaking the law for breaking out of prison regardless of his innocence.

God damn, is GAF breaking in half? It's very slow, and often when I try to do things like edit posts I get a download for editpost.php or something like that. It's getting really annoying.

Norwegian wood is Pine, which a lot of cheap furniture gets made out of.

Sweet, I was right. We were looking at the poster of the Japanese film Norwegian Wood, the title of which is written as ノルウェイの森, which means the small forest thing. Maybe they mistranslated it or something.

I've built a new pc, new hard drive etc and I have no idea how to transfer the music from my ipod touch 4.1 JB to my new hard drive. If I sync it's going to delete all my music, when I check my touch through my computer all I see is digital camera with the photos. I tried show hidden folders and still nothing else. Also my touch is 64 GB but on my computer the photo section is only around 29 GB.

^ Welcome to the world of apple. There's a few programs, a google search should help you. I personally used iphone browser to pull the music off my touch.

Seems like iphone browser works but the songs have codenames although the id tags are there. I guess I have to manually sort them into folders by artist later or is there a program for that too?

There are various programs like Tag & Rename,Media Monkey, ID3Tag,etc that will automate organizing(creating folders/moving files/etc) based on id3tags.

Assuming the tags are in place it shouldn't be too much of a hassle.

This is a full vector program, but it allows importing of .pdf and saving as .eps.

I can't say how well it will import your pdf, of course, but all I've tried look fine.

Well as far as nutrition goes it's not actually healthier for you. There are a few specific cases where this isn't true for example organic beef has to have the cow be in a pasture for at least a few hours and if a cow eats more grass then it will produce healthier fats than if it was only eating grains. But as far as plant products go, there's no reason to think organic is healthier for you.

Tried pdftops yet? It should come with xpdf. (You're on some Linux or Unix derivate, right?)
Code:
pdftops -f 1 -l 599 -eps source.pdf result.eps
-f says what the first page to output is, -l says where it ends. It seems those are mandatory arguments for .eps output of multipage .pdf input.

In GENERAL, if a girl finds you attractive will it show in her facial expressions?

I would say that if a girl finds you very unattractive, it is likely to show in her facial expressions.

I would venture that this is the only thing of which we can be certain.

How come when I click "show most recent post" on the Off Topic side, I get whisked away to the most recent post, but on the Gaming side, I get sent to the bottom of the last page no matter what?

Wouldn't the most recent post always be at the bottom of the page?

Or are you talking about the "view first unread" link? I don't think it has to do with the subforum your in. To get the "view first unread" link to work properly, you have to load the thread onto a page number equal to or less than that of the last time you were viewing the thread. So, if you're unsure what page the thread was on during you last visit, just load the first page and then click the "view first unread" and it will take you to the proper page and post.

If you load the last page of the thread before clicking the link and your first unread post was on a previous page, then the link will just take you to the first post of the last page. Unless you scroll up, it's not particularly obvious that this is what is happening (sure, you could look at the post numbers, but I doubt many people do that on a regular basis).

Sorry, I did mean the "view first unread" link.

I always click on that little NeoGAF symbol to the left of the thread title. In OT, I go to the correct post. In Gaming, I go straight to the end. I'm not sure why it's different between the forums.

I remember watching a video of a two girl band (one of them playing autoharp) and they were outdoors. It had an indie vibe to it. I can't seem to track it down anymore, anyone possibly know the band name?

Holy crap I never knew that symbol did that.

I am trying to use Ultimate Windows tweeker but I can't open it full screen and the sides are cut off. That means I can't use some of the buttons.

How do I open the program in full screen so I can see everything?

I am using a Asus EEE netbook with 1024X600 if that makes a difference.

How is the author for a NeoGAF OT topic decided? I want to make an OT topic for a game. Is there some sort of specific date where one can be made?

Offical threads are usually posted a week before the game comes out. As to who is decided to make them, it depends. Sometimes people call dibs on making it and sometimes they don't. just ask in one of the dedicated threads you're thinking about making an OT of.

It might have to do with how posts in the gaming forum are marked read (by default) a lot faster than the OT side. I can only view the first page once before everything gets marked.

Oh, right. I have no idea why it only works in certain subforums. For me, when I click it from the subscriptions folder, it just seems to go to the end no matter what. I guess it just has something to do with a bug in the modifications made to the forum software.

I'm a fairly new member and I guess when I first tried using this feature, I found that the only consistent way to make it work was the method I described in my previous post and didn't think much of it. But now that I know that the more convenient method works sometimes, that means it's supposed to work all the time. And now I'm annoyed.

Is "Inside the Actor's Studio" with James Lipton done with - at least 40% tongue in cheek with regard to James Lipton's delivery? I mean specifically when he's monologuing/monologging (seen it spelled both ways - not sure which is correct) - is he playing a role - or is he serious? Has this ever crossed your minds?

I watched the Bradley Cooper one because I knew it was going to be a really special one, and I've seen clips of episodes but I am no loyal fan, or at least I wasn't. I think I knew that Lipton could take a joke due to his cameos, but I really could never tell if James Lipton is playing a part or if he's just that passionate, and sparingly careful with words, and dramatic, but also quick and funny at times. I just wonder if he's playing some sort of role too. Either way I just set a pass on my DVR to catch all new unaired episodes so either way, he won.

FYI - That Bradley Cooper episode has some tearjerk moments. His Father was terminally sick at the time (that day came, sadly, very soon after) but was in the audience, brave man. I'd say Bradley Cooper held it together well, considering. But he also lost it a good 5-10 times and, fuck, I would too. But it'd be like 20-30 times that I'd lose it. I teared up a few times watching it, not gonna lie.

Sometimes I think this thread isn't working anymore. I thought it was at first, and I am a VERY rare topic starter because a few have completely detonated in my face. But if this thing doesn't pick up, well then I am headed for starting threads that don't necessarily need everyone's attention, and perhaps are even wasteful/unnecessary additions to the site in terms of deserving their own threads. I am personally super careful about that and only post such questions in here.

And I mean it. Unless this doesn't get picked up, or subscribed to, it's luggage. Which is a bummer because when it worked... MAN it worked. And even now, here and there when it works it kicks ass. But it's rare now. It really is.

It may have simply run it's course. Any thoughts?

Am I the only one who, on an internet site with ONE link that interests me, opens this damn link in a new tab - just to close the old tab right after that?

Why the fuck can't I just open that damn link like a total n00b with a left click?

I do it too. All the time. But in FF you can right click into a new tab - I think that's how I do it anyway - or ctrl click. Are you on a Mac? Either way its part of how advanced Web users roll. "This page - no this one - OMG what's this - wow **close popup** - wow what's this one". Suddenly you have 17 tabs open and you're thinking - what the fuck just happened to me?

Either way, don't beat yourself up about it. Life's too short. I got 99 problems but a click ain't one.

So yesterday morning, I spilled milk on my laptop's keyboard and sometimes, and since then, my qwerty row of the keyboard triggers the left-arrow key to stay pressed in. (only the t and y key stay normal). Does anybody know how to solve this problem or what's the cause of it?
It doesn't happen al the time and when it ins't happening, all the arrow-keys aren't working.

Excel problem.

There's a few cells I want to display dates in the dd/mm/yyyy format. That's easy to do.

However it seems that I have to input the those dates in the yyyy/mm/dd format. To show 1-FEB-2011 I have to input 11/2/1. And that sucks. How do I change it?

Format cells -> Date -> Select your desired formating.
